Wedding Cards

Wedding Cards are very important throughout the whole year
and my son has asked me to make several for him.
These next 2 images are the first.
The bride has chosen Burnt Orange as the colour theme. He said it wasn't big enough!
So I reconstructed it (picture 2) using the ribbon that was on the wedding invitation (not Stampin' Up!) although it was close to Pumpkin Pie.
I made wedding rings using 2 small punches and tied them together using Pumpkin Pie 3.2mm Taffeta ribbon. The background was made using Creative Elements and Pumpkin Pie.
Love and Laughter for the worded Wedding Cake. Backed by Champagne Glimmer Paper and Pumpkin Pie. Finished off with Rhinestones.

The next 3 are 3 Very Vanilla card bases with White Embossed elements.
Swallowtail, Mr & Mrs were the 2 stamp sets I used and I made the wedding rings and wine glasses using Silver Glimmer Paper and coloured in using Daffodil Delight marker pen for the champagne.
Apothecary Accents Framelits for the middle card, Whisper White Organza Ribbon and Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Rhinestones and Pearls finish these off.
The lighting wasn't as good as I'd like as they look much better in real light.

The next one is Whisper White card stock, Embossing Powder and Organza Ribbon, Mr & Mrs stamp, Silver Glimmer Paper, Apothecary Accents and finished off  with Pearls.

This last one is made using Brushed Silver and Whisper White cardstock with Organza Ribbon, Love and Laughter and Sweet Essentials stamp sets.

I hope you like them, enjoy, Gill

Stampin' Up! Simply Pressed Clay

I've had the most amazing time playing with the Simply Pressed Clay and Moulds.
A must buy, It's brilliant, fantastic value and sooo versatile!

This card was made using the flower from Papaya Collage and the words are from Perfectly Penned. 2 brilliant stamp sets that have been so popular.
I've used Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White cardstock. The Scallop Trim Border Punch and even managed the corners!

These are the 2 sheets that I've made to show some of the possible ways that the Simply Pressed Clay can be used. The only limit is your own imagination.

I have now made 2 different sets of these sheets and the pack has still loads more left!

WOW!

 What perfect value!
Have fun,
Gill

Well here is my project.
The card is a fun 3d frame card made using whisper white card stock and a mat of melon mambo card stock to highlight the stamped and embossed image.

Made using the lovely Wildflower Meadow single stamp and co-ordinating texture embossing folder

The card also uses the scallop trim border punch

and the gorgeous bitty butterfly and elegant butterfly punches.

The colours used are melon mambo, daffodil delight and pear pizzaz. The colour combo was inspired by the paper in the background of the photo. This beautiful paper is from the gingham garden designer series paper.

Happy Easter to you all.

Yesterday Gill and I went along to a local dementia care home and helped the residents make an Easter card.

Fun was had by us all Here is a picture of the card we designed for them to make up.
The flower is from the mixed bunch stamp set and the embossing folder is the oh so versatile honeycomb one from the latest Spring Summer mini catalogue from Stampin' Up!

Well have a lovely bank holiday weekend everyone and here's hoping the Easter bunny arrives at mine on Sunday :)

Scallop Trim Border and Corner Punches

I played with left over pieces of cardstock to make these cards.
My Special Day, Forever Young, Curly Cute and Delightful Dozen stamp sets. Obviously, I used the 2 Scallop Trim punches as well as the Modern Label and Corner punches.

The following card I used both the Scallop and Hearts from the Adorning Accents Folders, Stitched Satin Ribbon, discontinued satin ribbon and Rhinestones to complete.

The Lattice Bigz Die

I love this die just like all the others and played around with different ideas.
Using the whole image on it's own and sticking 2 together I've got two different effects. For the first 3 I used stamps from; Bring on  the Cake, For My Family, My Friend and Papaya Collage. Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Finishing Touches Edgelits, Stripes Embossing Folder, a piece of Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Rhinestones and Pearls finish these off. The flower on the bird card is made from the pieces that came out of the lattice die.

The next 4 cards were made by cutting into the Lattice.
The stamps used for them were; Perfect Postage, Petite Pairs, Creative Elements, Curly Cute and Delightful Dozen. Chevron Embossing Folder, Delicate Doilies Sizzlits as well as Scallop Square, Modern Label, Itty Bitty Shapes, Postage Stamp and 1" Square punches. Crochet Trim, Stitched Satin and Striped Organdy Ribbons topped off with Rhinestones and Pearls.

The Large Scallop Circle Edgelits Die

I started playing with my new die and found that putting 2 die cuts together I've made the following cards.
I used the Decorative label punch, Delightful Dozen, Pleasant Poppies, For My Family, Create A Cupcake and Creative Elements stamp sets, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Rhinestones, Pearls and a touch of ribbon finish these off.

Here is how I did it

After cutting one scallop I laid the die on the cardstock to match with the previous one. Post it notes are brilliant for holding the dies in place.

Doing this several times the scallops all matched and I chopped off the edges and have 4 separate scallops.

By overlapping and gently twisting the pieces over each other I got this lovely border. You can twist each scallop or every other one to get a slightly different effect.

I think that mixing different colours looks really effective too.

I hope this inspires you to play too!

Monday, 11 March 2013

Well i do hope all you mum's out there had a lovely Mothering Sunday ;)

I for one was treated and had a great day with my mum and my children :) Big thanks to them all for a fun day.

Here's the card I made for mothers day in 2 colour ways using the absolutely gorgeous Swallowtail large single stamp from Stampin' Up! spring summer mini catalogue

The colour schemes are both simple monochromatic ones in rich razzleberry and pacific point.

The layers are created but cutting your white layers and carefully placing one on top of the other and stamping over the layers then matting each layer on a mat that is 1/2 or 1 cm wider than the white mat then each layer is mounted on top of one and other and onto a card blank.

I finished the cards with the word Mum from the for my family stamp set and the small butterfly is from papillion potpourri punched out using the bitty butterfly punch.

Well We are having a snow day here and I am about to go and design the make make and take project for our up coming craft fare in Warnham village hall on saturday the 23rd of March from 11 am till 3pm.
So if you'd like to come and have a play then please come along and say hi to Gill and I coz we'll be there!!!!!

Have fun
