Well who knew....that crayons could be so much fun?? Well the white one that is!
Today's resist is called wax crayon resist and is oh so simple. Stamp your image onto white card, I used both shimmery card and Whisper White, then highlight the areas you want to remain white then apply ink over the top either with a sponge, a dauber or a brayer.
Once you've applied the ink gentle huff over the highlighted areas and buff.
The effect is fab! My first attempt was the card with the rose. Very simple and quick.
The second card using the leaves was a little messy but oh so worthwhile in my opinion.
Finally I had a go at freehand doodles with the white crayon then over stamping and blending in shades of rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss and basic grey to create a distressed look.
I had great fun making these projects and hope you will be inspired to have a go yourself.
Have fun
Cary ☺ xx

Another go at double embossing
Following on from yesterday's inspiration using heat and dry embossing on card stock I had a play with the same technique but on designer series paper.
I love messy crafting!! My fingers were a lovely shade of yellow by the time I'd finished sponging! Lol
Are you a messy crafter ? Or a neat precise crafter?
What ever type you are have fun

Making your crafty stash work harder...
Don't you just love it when you can use a product in a different way?
To create the background for this card I Versamarked one side of an embossing folder carefully placed my card in then ran it through my big shot.
I then took the card and covered it with clear embossing powder and heated it.
I then took n ink pad and gently dragged it over the card. I then buffed it with kitchen paper to remove the ink from the embossed areas.
It is not a very precise technique but I think it creates a lovely vintage, shabby chic effect that I find appealing ☺
In real life the debossed areas have a subtle textured sheen that looks like worn enamel.
Have fun

Who can resist......
How can you resist......The resist technique? ...
This week it's all about the resist technique.
Today's project shows how I created an ombre effect using 3 different inks sponged over clear embossed images then buffing with a clean piece of kitchen towel to remove the ink from the embossed areas.
This card was a little messy, well I always manage to get inky when crafting lol 😉, but quick to create ☺
Hope you're all having a happy Easter weekend

Due to a technical error (otherwise known as a cock-up) this post didn't appear.
Today's card is one of the simplest cards I think I have ever made.
Today's card is one of the simplest cards I think I have ever made.
Daffodil Delight for the card base and a Whisper White mat which I have stamped the message from Botanicals For You.
For this card, I heat embossed Just For You in Silver embossing powder then
using a sponge, I sponged Daffodil Delight from the ink pad over the messsage.
It is always advisable to rub over the embossed area to take off any excess colour.
A small strip of Silver Satin ribbon finishes off the card.
Botanicals For You is one of the FREE products you can chose from in the Salebration range each time you place an order of £45 with Stampin' Up!
This offer sadly ends on 31st March.
Please pop by tomorrow for some more projects.

Daffodil Delight and Botanicals For You
Daffodil Delight and Botanicals For You
Continuing on with this week's theme, I made a double Z card for a friend who
passed her driving test.
I actually thought that this would be quite fiddly and tricky but
once again surprisingly straightforward.
A C6 card base * cut from the full length of an A4 sheet of Whisper White.
Folded it in half and then one of the sides folded in half again.
I then added 2 pieces of Designer Series Paper from the Schoolhouse DSP range
.These were both trimmed down to show a small border.
The 2nd Z band across the front, is 2.5 cm wide by 29.7 cm long.
Also folded as before as the card base.
I stamped the little flowers and leaves across this and stuck it to the card.
2 simple messages,1 from Botanicals For You
and the CONGRATS from Party Pants stamp set. Both stamp sets are FREE from the Salebration offer which ends 31st March.
I finished off by adding a few Enamel Dots from the It's My Party range.
The Botanicals For You stamp set is another of the FREE
products you can get when you place an order with Stampin' Up
of £45 or more during Saleabration.
*A C6 card when closed/folded measures 10.5 cm by 14.85 cm
Open, for this style of card it measures10.5 cm by 29.7 cm.
Please pop by tomorrow to see what else I have managed to make.

Daffodil Delight and Botanicals For You.
This is the last card from me for this week. Rather more fiddly than the rest of this week's projects but I rather like this one.
Again a *C6 card base but this time it was cut across the wider part of the A4 cardstock
and again folded in half.
In addition, I have used the Botanical Builder Framelets Die.
Using 2 mats (1 Basic Black and 1 Whisper White), I die-cut the flowers
and leaves then paper pieced them together as you see.
The larger flowers have a double cut in them which you allows you to seperate the petals.
*A C6 folded card base this way again measures 10.5 cm by 14.85 cm
but the unfolded measures 14.85 cm by 21 cm.
Thank you again for looking in. It is Cary's turn to show some projects next week
so you're in for a real treat as always.

This one is a very simple card using a Whisper White mat onto a Basic Black mat with a Daffodil Delight cardbase.
I stamped a sheet of white card randomly with the flowers and leaves and just added 2 messages to complete.
The stamp set is another of the FREE products you can get when you place an order
of £45 or more during Saleabration.

Today's Inspiration is using the Party With Cake, Stampin' Up! range.
The range or family includes Designer Series Paper (DSP), 2 Stamp Sets, Framelets, Embossing Folder, Party Punch Pack, Washi Tape, Enamel Dots and even co-ordinating Baker's Twine.
IT IS BRILLIANT!
For this card, I used the DSP and Framelets.
I could have gone on and used more
but enough is enough.
The framelets are the PARTY POP-UP thinlets dies and they do just that.
It has another die too which is a cake and candles but the cake reads HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
It is my birthday today and Cary and I went to our team training yesterday.
We always make swaps to give to others in our team, so I thought that I would make myself this pretty birthday card.
Well I think it's pretty, I hope you do.
I also used Happy Hearts embossing folder and the Confetti Heart Border Punch which I used some of the hearts from previous projects to fill in with silver Glimmer Paper.
We crafter's NEVER throw things away, do we?
I hope you like today's project and that it can give you some inspiration.
Happy Crafting.

Weekly Inspiration
For the last of my projects this week I used one of the large resist project life cards to create 2 cards.
First I spritzed the card with melon mambo ink and blotted it with a piece of kitchen towel then buffed it gently to reveal the resist patten. Then I used a variety of different sized circle punches and randomly punched circles from the card.
I used the circles to create a background pattern on a piece of whisper white card that I then put in to an embossing folder and embossed. Then I attached it to my card blank and decorated it ☺
The second card used the negative piece of the card. I popped it onto a piece of card that I had embossed and used it as the background for my card. ☺
I hope you've enjoyed my samples this week. Gill will be providing the inspiration for next week so make sure you pop over and say hi

Today inspiration is a bag and set of note cards. Each card has used one of the resist background cards from the project life speciality set in stampin up 's Sale-a-Bration set. I've stamped in basic black then used a sponge dauber to highlight the blooms then gently buffed the ink off the resist areas.
The bag has a window made from one of the acetate cards from the set and was made using a gift bag punch boards and designer series paper.
Hope the photo's aren't too bad! Hopefully my photography will improve as on Sunday I'm going to team training where photography is one of the training subjects! 😉 anyone got any good tips they want to share about how to take good shots for using on Facebook and blogs?

Today's project is a cute little mini album.
Made using the acetate overlays from the making memories project life card specialist card set that's exclusively available for free from Stampin ' Up! Till the end of March!
This card set contains 2 different sizes of acetate cards and resist cards. Some of the acetate ones have gold print on them and it's these that I've used to create the flap pockets into which I've placed journaling cards. The space in center is where I would put photos.
The overall closed size of this mini album is a mere 8cm wide by 10.5cm tall by 1cm deep! (Or 3 1/8th inch by 41/8th inch by 1/2 inch in old money!)

Inspiration - Masking
Today's card I die-cut the butterfly from Butterflies Thinlits out of cardstock.
I stuck the outer piece from the die-cutting over the white mat. As it is a smaller area,
I used Daubers to add layers of purples.
I added the die-cut butterfly back into the aperture on the cardstock and using Blackberry Bliss and the daubers, coloured through the butterfly.
Adding a few Rhinestones and a message from the World of Dreams stamp set.
I used the Triple Corner Punch on the corners of each layer.
This was matted onto Blackberry Bliss cardstock.

For today's card, I used World of dreams stamp set.
I punched a 2.5inch circle out of cardstock and using low tack tape, placed on the mat while I sponged around it.
Sponging was using Soft Sky, Marina Mist and a little Night of Navy onto Whisper White cardstock.
I removed the punched circle and sponged Crushed Curry inside, allowing a little to overlap onto the blue to give a moonlit haze. The mat was mounted onto Silver Foil.
The images were stamped in Basic Black.
The message came from Perfect Pairings, another FREE product from Saleabration.
The message was heat embossed using Silver embossing Powder

Inspiration - Masking Technique
Botanicals For You is the stamp set used today.
This set is one of the FREE products you can get through SALEABRATION.
A large but very effective message, Just For You was heat embossed in clear powder.
I used sponges to add several shades of pinks over white cardstock.
Ending with stronger colours on the outer edges of the image and the background mat.
To finish off I used Melon Mambo ink and a mask from Happy Patterns set of 4 masks
to give the diamond shapes on the background mat.
A piece of ribbon was also sponged the same way to give a shaded colour too.
