Masking - Day 5

 Today I've gone festive!
Cary and I held our Christmas all day classes over the last 2 weekends so I thought
I should get started.

I used the Christmas Sweaters stamp set for this fun card.
6 Different jumpers all stamped several times over the Whisper White mat/

I coloured some of them in using ink from the ink pad and a water brush.

I added a piece of the Silver Tinsel Trim and a Rhinestone on one of the jumpers.

You can see the post it cut outs that I used and how they were placed over the stamped image.
The Whisper White mat was mounted onto Real Red cardstock using then stuck onto the card
base using Dimensionals.

The message inside was from  Snowflake Sentiments stamp set which we used for our all day
Christmas classes.

Masking - Day 4

Today I made a slightly simpler card.
This time I stamped the large rose from Graceful Garden stamp set onto Whisper White and mounted onto Old Olive cardstock.
Here is the finished result.

A simpler flower to cut around, I stamped and cut 2 onto Post it notes,
Then stamped 1 onto the white mat, covered it with the post it cut out and stamped to the side.

I added the second post it cut out and stamped to the opposite side.

I coloured the flowers and stalks using Watercolour pencils in Daffodil Delight and Old Olive.
Below is the photo of the 2 post it cut outs in place and you can see clearly how they were placed.

I finished off with phrases from Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.

Masking - Day 3

Following on from yesterday, today my card is for my friend Julie's new husband, Russell.
His birthday is 3 days before hers so it's been a little busy here!

Russell is a bar manager and I thought he would appreciate this.
Using Mixed Drinks stamp set, I stamped several different glasses onto post it notes and cut them out.
Then stamped them one after the other all over the white mat which was
stamped first with Sheet Music stamp set. Using the post it notes to cover the images, I made sure there were no major gaps on the mat.

Then after stamping and cutting out the other glasses, I stuck them to the new white mat
using Dimensionals. I used Labeler Alphabet for the words on this and
Happy Birthday for the messages and phrases inside.

I really must remember to make their cards earlier next year!

Happy Belated Birthday Russell!

Masking - Day 2

Masking

Today's card is one that I've made for a very dear friend.
She was married for the very 1st time at the beginning of this month.
The card is similar to her wedding invitations and it included a                                 beautiful photo of her on her wedding day in Rebate, Spain.
This is Julie and her husband Russell.

The card is A5 one, basically a sheet of A4 cardstock folded in half.
I embossed the Calypso Coral twice with the Oh My Stars TIEF.

The leaves were using the new stamp set called Painted Harvest.
I stamped the leaves and then the veins in 3 colours.
Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive and Wild Wasabi.

I stamped 2 sets of leaves onto the top of a post it note so that when they were cut out,
there was sticky behind the leaves. I stamped the 1st set of leaves, popped the post it leaves over to mask what I had stamped then stamped some more leaves in another colour. I continued doing this all the way round. Before the final set was stamped, I added both the post it notes to the 1st set and the last set of leaves that I stamped. I was then able to stamp the leaves into the gap that was left without marking the other leaves.

Using a craft knife, I cut between some of the leaves and with scissors
cut off the outside edges of the card. I usedone of the messages from the NEW set of message labels called Merry Little Labels.

I found the message on Pintrest and adjusted it a little!
Julie was only 11 years old when I moved next door to her and
apparently she looks to me as her other mum! I'm very honoured to be classed as such.

Happy Birthday Julie and Russell.
Their birthdays are within 3 days of each other.

Weekly Inspiration- Masking

Masking Technique

Hello, thank you for popping by to see this week's projects.
For today's class I would like to show you what a very dear friend of ours
has made for our team training swap.
This lovely card front shows in beautiful color what an amazing effect masking can have.

This lovely card was made by Jackie Hall from Dorset.
Using a post it-note to mask over the images already done and then sponging from the
edge of the note to add more shade.
Jackie used Always Artichoke and Cajun Craze for the stamping and base mat
and Very Vanilla for the top mat.
Lovely isn't it?
Thank you so much Jackie.

Orange by any other name...

If you're of a certain age and from the UK this phrase will mean something ....
"You've Been  Tango'd"!!!
(Sorry to everyone else but I couldn't resist 😉 lol )
For those of us who like Orange this card is perfect, oh and the sentiment goes so well with the Peekaboo Peach theme 😆

All rise...

Decoupage, pyrimage,  circleage..not sure what it's called but for today's card I stamped the image 3 times, then coloured them in identically. Then I used 3 circle punches  and punched out one from each of the images. This forms the basis of the Circleage, 😉,  pop each of the top 2 layers up with 3d dimensionals and carefully layer on top of each other, carefully lining up the image. I then created the rest of the card and used this 3d image as the focal point .

When is Christmas not Christmas.....

Do you have Christmas pattern paper and  stamps that you put away with a heavy heart at the end of the season ? Well today's inspiration is made with both Christmas pattern paper called Be Merry. The sentiment is from a Christmas stamp set from Stampin Up called Hearts Come Home.
