Sketches - Day 2

Today I went a little square!
I don't often make square cards but I though that this way is better.

I made a 14.85 cm square card in Whisper White Thick card and then embossed it
using the NEW Stampin' Up! folder called Subtle. Gorgeous!!

It almost makes the card look like Watercolor paper with the subtle texture on it.
Then using Blueberry Bushel and Pineapple Punch, I cut all of the squares out.

I used the small 1/2" circle punch to snip off the corner on everything.
All of the images were stamped in Blueberry Bushel on Whisper White and Vellum cardstock but I fussy cut all of the flowers and used the coordinating punch for the larger flowers and butterfly.

I added the Vellum images using Clear dots and gently lifted the sides
of the images to give more depth.

I used Pop of Petals for the flowers and Petal Palette for the messages.

Here is the card that inspired me to make mine.

Sketches

This week's inspiration is using Sketches that I found online and gave me ideas for my cards.
My first card is my attempt at playing with the sunburst design.

This time though I made the strips of card go in different angles.
I used Bermuda Bay Ink Pad, Coastal Cabana, Pool Party and
Soft Sea Foam cardstock on a Whisper White Card base.

Petal Palette is the stamp set for the fussy cut images and the messages too.

The images were fussy cut out and layered using Foam Dimensionals.

A different type of card this time but I enjoyed playing.

This is the sketch that inspired me.

Crafting forever...

Wahooo it's Friday!!! Today's card is made using one of my all time favourite stamp sets Crafting Forever. This fab set is perfect for sending a card to fellow crafters, obviously!, but also to those who dont craft in a set way just to remind them that creativity is good for everyone 😁
The other set I've used is called Around the Corner. I've used this set to create the background for the card.
Well that's it for this week. I hope you've been inspired to go create something yourself this weekend.
Please join us next week when Gill will be sharing her inspiration.
Have fun
Cary x

Painted Glass vellum...

Have you tried colouring on vellum before? It gives a subtle beauty to an image. The painted glass vellum gives you lots of opportunity to play with this technique . I used Stampin Up's classic inks and their blender pen and coloured on the back of the image. I like that by using this pre embossed vellum I didn't have to get my heat tool out in the hot weather we are experiencing at the moment!!!

Animal outing...

Who doesn't go ahh at the sight of a cute baby hippopotamus???? Well I certainly do!! Lol   The Animal Outing stamp set has both cute images and lovely sentiments so it a real winner to my mind. Plus you can colour in!!!! Big bonus 😁

Tufted......

Today I've used a new embossing folder to give texture to an otherwise plain background.  The folder is called Tufted and gives a lovely crisscross effect. It is quite  delicate  and subtle and gives the card a touch of depth and a lovely polished finish.  I hope this shows in the photos 😉

Wow it's hot here!! Been dreaming about cool waters and sandy beaches in the tropics
Which led to today's card.

Stitched All Around - Day 5

For my last card this week I went card and bling crazy!
When an old friend of mine and I get together (which sadly isn't very often)
we go into our totally silly mode for a while!
Don't You Know, Darling!!

Kate and I have been friends since Secondary school.
When she arrived into my life everything changed!
She was tough, considerate, kind and very protective.

I used Petal Pink and Merry Merlot card stock and Ink Pads but at the end
I dismantled parts of it and added Whisper White mats under some of the Pink.

It seems to looks better and the colours POP more with the white under it.

I embossed the large front pink mat using Scattered Sequins embossing folder
and inside I used the NEW, Subtle embossing folder.

The papers on this are from the Garden Impressions DSP.
I bought it to challenge me and since then I have used SOOOOOO much
of the papers I'm nearly out!
Love them!

Thankfully, Kate isn't into crafting which is an added bonus as this is her
birthday card for next month!

I know she'll have a good giggle!
Well, that's it from me for the week. I hope I have given you some inspiration
and that you too can challenge yourself to make something that inspires you too.
Thank you, Gill

Stitched All Around - Day 4

Hello. Today I have made another very simple card.
A little embossed imaged on the front and the coloured accents
above.

As I said, a very straightforward, simple card but I think sometimes all that is
needed is simplicity.
I used Whisper White of course and the lovely NEW In Color Grapefruit Grove.

I stamped the images saying THANK YOU with the Grapefruit Grove too
and then punched each one using the 1 3/8 " Scallop Circle Punch.

I'm really pleased with this one as this is the kind of card I love to receive too.

Understated, simple and lovely.
I hope you think so too.

Stitched All Around - Day 3

Today's card I used the Delightfully Detailed Die-Cut papers again.
Only this time, I've used a dauber and inked through the die cut.

Just straight lines for this one and a lovely message for the front panel.
I love the way that the inked pattern looks. It looks almost perfect!

I raised the top patterned mat on this one and the message mat too.

I love shadows on cards, I think they look great.

Just the simple Best Wishes and a few strips of leaves to finish this one off.

Stitched All Around - Day 2

Today's card is a very simple, repeated stamping card.

I used Granny Apple Green Ink and Cardstock then Gorgeous Grape Ink for the stamping.

I mounted the front panel this time to add some extra dimension.
Then added a strip of Textured Weave knotted ribbon, which is also Granny Apple Green.

Yes, it also has Framelits to coordinate with the stamps too.
Isn't that frame lovely?

A simple message to complete this one to finish off.
