Pigment Sprinkles..

For today's samples I created an ink pad using the Pigment Sprinkles and baby wipes. I placed a few folded baby wipes on top of the largest block that Stampin Up sell, size F. I then sprinkled the pigment onto the baby wipes, spritzed with a light misting of water and watched as the colour spread.
First I gently placed card on to the pad and smoothed over it with my fingers ti puck up ink. Then I took out my basic pattern masks from Stampin Up autumn winter catalogue and put card onto the mask and secured with low tack masking tape. Then I placed the sandwich down mask first and gently patted the card. Different amounts of pressure gives different  effects.
I had lots of fun creating various backgrounds.  I turned these into a Christmas  card and a gift.
The Christmas  card uses the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set and the Christmas Layers dies.
The folio holds 4 cards and is decorated with the same dies and stamp set. The cards use sentiments from the Colourful Seasons stamp set found in Stampin Up  annual catalogue and stamped in basic grey ink.

Pigment Sprinkles..

I don't know about you but when I'm  playing...oh sorry creating 😉 with a product like the Pigment Sprinkles from Stampin Up I make lots of backgrounds. I try different colour combinations with different amounts of water etc all in all I end up with quite a few backgrounds but even so I dont like to waste them!! So today's sample is a simple way to get 2 cards from 1 background!
I used the Hand Written Prose dies from Stampin Up to die cut out the word smile from the background.  I then matted it onto a piece of black card so that the colourful background  really pops.
The letters I then used on the second card. I didn't  even waste the off cuts from the background as I used them on the inside of my cards!!
Waste not want not is the motto of the day today 😁

Pigment Sprinkles...

Today's sample is the result of my playing with the pigment sprinkles.  All I did was sprinkle one colour, gorgeous grape, onto water colour paper after I had spritzed the card with water. Boy was it fun to watch the colours emerge!! The bright blue spots are from the same powder...after all purple is made up of blue and red!!
The finished background  reminded me a little of the Aurora Borealis, northern lights,  and I wanted it to be the star of the show so I used the sledge and sentiment die cuts from the Jolly Season dies in black  card to create this card.

Pigment sprinkles

Todays I'm sharing a card which has a fun technique using the gorgeous pigment sprinkles.
For today's card all I did was create a striped pattern with masking tape. I used low tack tape to create a masked off area. I then sprinkled 3 different coloures of pigments, bermuda bay, mango melody and granny apple green.  Then spritzed with water. Then using folded kitchen towel I dabbed the excess off the masking tape so that as I gently removed it there was no spillage.
The finushed background reminded me of wrapping paper so I made a card that resembles a Christmas parcel 😁
For the inside I used the same sprinkle colours on a seperate piece of shimmery white cardstock and created a background. I used this to stamp the parcels on then die cut them out.

Pigment sprinkles.

Do you love colour? Getting messy? Being unique? All combined with being creative?
Well then you need to get some Pigment Sprinkles in you crafting stash!!
These little pots of pure colour come in a box of 6 little tubs from Stampin Up.  They are individual colours of granny apple green, daffodil delight , melon mambo, gorgeous grape, mango melody and bermuda bay all from the brights colour family.
For today's inspiration I used one of the masks from the basic mask pack and tried 2 ways with the same mask. For the first , simpler card I put the mask onto some watercolour paper then sprinkled a little bermuda bay pigment powder over.  Then I spritzed it with a light misting of water.  I quickly removed the mask and left the card to dry.
For the second card I  put the same mask on another piece of watercolour paper then spread white embossing paste thinly over. Then with the mask still in place and working quickly I sprinkled more powder over then spritzed with water to activate the pigment. I removed the mask and washed it straight away so that the embossing paste didn't spoil it. It sure did give a different effect!.

Now for the last #simplestamping  sample of the week I thought I'd share how you can take a simple card and dress it up.
The #simplestamping card is used as the layout for he second dressed up card. All I've done is add extra ink some embellishments , ribbon and a little heat embossing and voila a very different  card!!

Today I'm  back to colouring in. This time I'm using watercolour pencils to highlight just part of the stamped image. You don't have to colour it all in sometimes less is more. The soft effect that the watercolour pencils give is furter enhanced because I have used very vanilla cardstock and basic grey ink to stamp with. It has a very mid century modern feel to me. I remember Christmas baubles being like these on my grandparents Christmas tree.

Today I'm  sharing a card that has a little something extra...a simple embellishment. The little copper star above the center tree is from Stampin Up's autumn winter catalogue.  They are called Star designer elements and there are 40 for just £8.25! Excellent value and beautiful simplicity, oh and they're self adhesive so no glue required 😉

The tree's  were stamped using the generational stamping technique. That's where you ink the stamp up then stamp but don't  reink rather you huff over it to reactivate the ink and stamp again.

#simplestamping plus a splash of colour from a little easy colouring in.  Colouring in  is a very popular adult hobby at the moment. Crafting in any form is good for your mental health and should be encouraged no matter what age you are!!
So for today I kept it simple just one stamp set , a black memento ink and 2 stampin blends, ( alcohol markers).  Then stamped my images and settled down for some peaceful me time colouring in.

Now as a paper crafter of over 15 years my style has changed over time.....and I've got  a lot  more stash to make my projects with!!😉😉😉  So #simplestamping can become quite a tricky style to create projects in!!!
#simplestamping is going back to basics using just stamps, ink and card so that the projects can be created by all, new to card making or avid experienced crafter alike.
So this week I'll be sharing a project a day that will be made with just stamps, ink and cardstock.
I hope you'll give #simplestamping a go because its always good to try something new 😁

Colour - Day 5 - Reds  

This last card for this week I have made with Merry Merlot. This is the new Neutral red from Stampin' Up! and although I wasn't keen at first, it really has grown on me to the extent that yes, I class it amongst my favourite colours! How's that for a change around?

 

I decided to get away from Christmas as there are lots of other occasions that need cards.

This card is, I guess, a card of support or encouragement. 

I used the stamp set It Starts With Art. it covers all sorts of crafting from card making,

 colouring, sewing etc, etc. It's great.

 I love a little sparkle so I used the Sparkle Glimmer card on this one.

I embossed the White mat on the front with the Button, Button embossing folder and have used

a Merry Merlot Stampin' Write Marker pen to edge the message on the front. The message and the pens were die cut using the Arts and Crafts Dies.

A simple message of Follow Your Art on the base to hold the front of the easel up....   

and another message inside to complete this card.

Colour - Day 4 - Reds  

Today I used the most gorgeous, rich and sumptuous colour called Blackberry Bliss.

It's unctious! If there is such a word?!?!

Anyway, I love it!

I have used the lovely designer series papers DSP called Perennial Essence. 

I tied this in using the Daisy Lane stamp set.

This is a very simple card (I know that I always say that but it really is), cut out of an 8" by 8" 

piece of card, which was folded in a few directions and cut once.

I used a few circle punches to balance the daisy onto and the small Daisy punch for the daisies.

The message was also from the Daisy Lane stamp set, which finishes off the card for today.
