Bubble Wrap Technique Class

This week we had the great pleasure of another great class with our lovely ladies in Burgess Hill.
We challenged them to the Bubble wrap technique.
Their results were brilliant!

Materials needed: Bubble Wrap cut into slightly larger pieces than C6. Sassy Salutations, Age Awareness, Petite Petals and Traveller Stamp sets. Night of Navy, Whisper White, Pool Party, Real Red, Smoky Slate cardstock. Pool Party and Smoky Slate embossing powder. Heat Gun. Real Red, Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate, Versamark and Memento Ink Pads. Real Red Woven Satin, Bermuda Bay 1/8" Taffeta and Silver Satin Ribbons. Vintage Facetted Buttons. Petite Petals Punch.
All products supplied by Stampin' Up!

Technique:
Card fronts are all C6 size (ie. 10.5cm by 14.85cm).

Congratulations card and Happy Birthday card.
Stamp the bubbles of the bubble wrap really well with Versamark. Lay the bubble wrap straight onto the card front and gently smooth a clear mount block over the reverse of bubble wrap. Sprinkle the embossing powder covering the whole area. Shake the excess off and heat set with the gun. Cut down the card front to the size required, add a piece of white cardstock for the remainder of the card front add a piece of ribbon to cover the join and decorate using the petite petals. Add a message of your choice and Hey Presto!

Train card
Fold a piece of bubble wrap in half length-ways and ink up the whole strip using the Smoky Slate Ink pad. Lay the bubble wrap on the card and once again smooth over the reverse using a clear mount block. Stamp the image over the top, cut down to fit onto a Night of Navy mat, add ribbon, buttons and a message. I made mine into an easel card.

This card was made using the left over pieces that had been embossed. Starting with 7/8" scallop circle punch first, then 1 1/4". 1 3/4" and 2 3/8" punches cut out all the different sizes and layer up.
Proving that left overs are very, very useful!

Here are the cards the lovely ladies made. Aren't they good?

Shaving Foam Technique Class

Materials needed:
Can of cheap shaving foam, paper plates, kitchen roll, Stampin' Up! re-inkers in 3 colours, cocktail sticks or pokey tool, disposable gloves and a black bag! Whisper white cardstock and or glossy paper.
Technique:
Spray the shaving foam all over the plate to a depth of approx 4 cm or 1 and a half inches. Use your gloves at this stage and add a few drops of each colour re-inker over the surface of the shaving foam. Using the cocktail stick or pokey tool, gently cut through the colours and spread the ink through the foam. Lay a card sized piece of Whisper White cardstock or glossy paper (we used C6 card fronts) flat onto the foam for a few seconds. Lift it up by the corner and lay face down onto a few pieces of kitchen roll. Press more Kitchen roll down on top of the card. The shaving foam will squeeze out from underneath. After a few seconds, turn your card over and dab some more kitchen roll over the image to dry. It should dry very quickly. You can continue the process a few more times before adding more re-inkers to freshen or change the colours within the foam.
Repeat adding cards to the foam and make as many card  fronts as you wish.

This is a messy technique but oh so much fun. Enjoy!

Below are some of the card fronts made using this process.

Our New Look

Hello and welcome to our new blog. We think it's lovely and fresh but just in case please let us know your feelings too.
This is our impression of  Olaf and Peppa Pig using the Curvy Keepsake Box die.
This was for the children to make at a recent school holiday class held at The Shopfest Craft Den within Hilliers Garden Centre in Horsham.
The children loved them and fortunately knew who they were supposed to be!

It also has a lovely new tool for us to use that will be useful all year long!
Here are a few samples using them can you guess what they are?

Well? Did you get it yet?

No.... well here you go these boxes were all made using the new Stampin' Up! Gift Box Punch Board!!!! found on page 5 of the seasonal catalogue and priced at £17.95. The board makes boxes upto 15.2cm, that's 4'' in old money! cubed.

It's a fab new tool that can help you make a box in about 2 minutes flat!!! And you don't need any glue!

How cool it that????

You can make boxes on the board  with any of our card stock or even our designer series paper but what works best is also another new star of the seasonal catalogue the Under the Tree specialty series paper. What's so special about the paper??? it's weight!! the paper is actually card and it is wonderful for making these boxes with. The card is double sided one side is Kraft and white and the other either garden green, early espresso or cherry cobbler and white.
