Ever so popular. ..

We all know that things come and go, trends I think is the appropriate name but some things never seem to go out of favour well today's card has both those elements.  It is the oh so on trend Z fold card  combined with the perennial traditional Christmas images and colours.
My Z fold is created with 2 pieces of card

I must admit the Garden Green colour certainly fits the traditional remit of this sample...mhhh  maybe it's not as bad bad as I thought?lol

Warmth and cheer...

Now I must admit to loving a bit of tartan.  I think they are so evocative of the traditional Christmas as well as being a fantastic symbol of Scotland!   Today's sample is a little gift container that holds both a wee treat and a space for a gift card or cash.
The front of the cross over opens to reveal a pocket to hold a card or cash and a gift tag. I used a slimline magnet to close and secure the cross over.

The thistle on the front is made using the bell punch for a little more Scottish influence 😉

All the colours. ..

I love colour ! Every colour..well there are some that I like more than others 😉 so this week I thought I'd challenge myself and use one of my least favourite colours....Garden Green!  Anyone who knows me knows that this is going to be a big challenge!  Lol do you have colours you find harder to use? Maybe you should join me and challenge yourself to push you boundaries!
Well here's my first go hope you like it I'm not convinced yet that it'll be my go to green!

Something for the boys....

Today's inspiration is  a more masculine card in my eyes. The rich colours and the almost industrial feel from the brick embossed background  and the silver foil panel that has been tarnished with black stazon  help to create the look for me.

The middle of the card features a pop out that has another silver foil panel using the same technique.

Quick gift idea...

Today I've  been inspired by a project I saw on a Stampin ' Up!  Demo group by a lady called Helen.  I have used a 10cm x 10cm marble tile then after wiping and drying the surface stamped in versamark and heat embossed using gold, silver and my favourite at the moment  copper embossing powder.  Warning the tile got very hot and stayed hot for a long time! I then used a mat clear varnish spray to seal the tiles. I think these tiles would make lovely gifts for any occasion especially if accompanied by a bottle of the recipientsfavourite tipple maybe?? 😉

Square and simple. ..

Today's sample is a larger square card which is made a little different by the corners. This was achieved with a simple circle punch. Put the corner of the card into the punch so that the point is at the center of the circle.  Punch and the corners have an quater  of a circle punched out. A simple but attractive effect I think,  I hope you agree ☺

Frosty beginnings. ...

Hi Hope you've had a good weekend and managed to get a little, or a lot! Of crafting in 😉
Today starts a week of inspiration featuring the beautiful Frosted Medallions  stamp set from Stampin ' Up! .

This card is a variation of the extremely popular Z fold card. It combines the Z fold with an easle  card ☺
