Weekly Inspiration - Dragonfly Dreams

Dragonfly Dreams

Hi. This week I've the pleasure of showing some projects made with this gorgeous stamp set.
Another good thing is that it has coordination Framelits to go with.
These are called Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits.
Here is my first project using the Thinlits.

Firstly, I die cut the Dragonflies out of a Whisper White mat then stamped the flourish from another stamp set called Falling Flowers and Peekaboo Peach Ink pad.

We crafters never throw things away so I added a piece of retired Glimmer paper from Salebration.
I die cut the dragon flies again from Silver Foiled card and raised them using Dimensionals and placed
them in the aperture.
I finished off with a few phrases from Here For You stamp set.

Over and under...under and over...

We'll today is the last day of this week's inspiration from myself and I have to say I've had fun making cards using the new In Color ribbons and I hope it has made you look out the ribbons in your stash and put them to use. ☺
Today's card uses the ribbon weaving technique to create a soft and delicate but at the same time rather rich effect to a rather simple and elegant card . I have used it as a baby girl card but it would work equally well for a boy or a wedding card with the appropriate colour ribbon being used.
Well I hope you all have a great weekend and will join us next week when Gill will be sharing her talent with us all here.
Have fun
Cary xx

Round and round...

I am not known for my sewing abilities,  As Gill will attest to 😉 But even I can manage a simple ribbon rosette!  Lol
I used 2 lengths of ribbon the inner piece was a little shorter than the out side piece. Then just used a simple running stitch along one edge of the first ribbon then gathered it together closely and added a stitch to anchor it then with out cutting the tread I did the same again but this time gathering it to fit behind the first ribbon. Then I secured it all together and attached it to my card with glue dots.
I love the bright colours of this card it is really cheerful and party worthy in my opinion. 😀

Not just for the girls...

Today's sample gives you a quick way to use ribbon on a man's card proving that ribbon isn't just for the girls!!
With father's day coming up here in the UK I thought I'd make a father's day card.

Just a little cover up....

Today's sample shows that you can change the look of something with a little cover up.
I used the new Fresh Fig ribbon and over layed it with some delicate lace trim to give the ribbon another dimension.
The lace  inspired me to have a go at a more vintage feel for this sample.
Vintage is something I love but I'm not very good at but I persevered and am quite chuffed with the result 😊 I hope you like it and are inspired to have a go at layering up your ribbons .

5 days...5 ways...

This week I'm going to share inspiration that I've created using a product that I love for all its many uses and many forms...Ribbon!
I like soft Ribbon, narrow Ribbon, bright and subtle coloured, sparkly...the list is endless but the ribbon I'm using this week is a bit special because as with all things Stampin Up  this ribbon coordinates with the ink and card stock and embellishments and pattern paper  that are made in the same colours!! But what makes them  even more special in my eye's is that they are in the scrumptious 2017/18 new In Color's!
So today let me share a card that shows all 5 of the ribbons on one card.
I hope you'll join us tomorrow for more ideas using ribbon.

Spotlighting - Day 3

Sorry I have posted so late but life has just got in the way today!
Anyway, for my last project on Spotlighting this week I have taken out the spots instead of adding them.

Using Tranquil Tide, Whisper White and Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper,
I have made a card base and the mats.

I cut a slightly smaller piece of Whisper White cardstock and punched out a few different sized holes.
Then added some different sized Perfect Accents randomly over the top mat to look like spots of glue.
The top mat was stuck using the Foam Adhesive Strips.

With a message and a few images stamped cut out using the new stamp set
called Crafting Forever. I just love, love, love this set!

I added Happy Birthday Fabulous Friend using Thoughtful Banners stamp set.
I hope you liked this weeks projects. Please pop by next week to see the
marvellous creation that Cary has in store for you.
