Heat Embossing - Day 2

I made this card for today by mistake!
It started out to be something completely different but I prefer this one thankfully.

For a change I used Very Vanilla with the gorgeous Rich Razzleberry card and ink pad.
The mat was stamped using the Touches of Nature and Daffodil Delight Ink pad.

The flower from the set was crying out to be a single bloom on this mat.
I heat embossed the flower in silver embossing powder and heat set.
Yes, I did fussy cut the flower and the stem out too.

I find fussy cutting very relaxing. I know. I'm very strange!

The message is from Better Together, one of my go to stamp sets for different messages.

Weekly Inspiration

Heat Embossing - Day 1

This week I am playing with Heat Embossing as it makes such a statement when 'cooked'.
I've chosen this as today is my son and daughter- in law
(I really dislike the in law bit as she is really amazing),
Jonathan and Jemma.
It's their 2nd wedding anniversary and they're spending the day with their children.
Jonathan says that they were there when they were married and should be with them today too.

Anyway, here is the card that I made them.

I die cut the flourish from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits onto Highland Heather
then gently stamped each with Versamark. Sprinkled White Embossing powder over then Heat set.
I actually like the way that the lavender shows through in places.

I embossed the Whisper White mat with Oh My Stars TIEF folder and added it onto the
Highland Heather mat and card base.

Using Graceful Garden, I stamped in Versamark again, 3 of the flowers.
Once again I used White embossing powder. Then using daubers, I covered them in Pineapple Punch and Call Me Clover Ink Pads.
Giving them a little buff after to get off the excess ink from the embossed areas.

The messages were from Another Wonderful Year for the inside.
Beautiful Bouquet for the Happy Anniversary
and Celebrate was die cut from Celebrate You Thinlits.
Thank you for joining me today, I hope you pop by tomorrow to see what I get up to next.

Sketches - Day 5

This last card from me for this week was again very straightforward and simple.
Some stamping, Die cutting and colouring in.

I used Serene Garden and the matching Framelits on this.
Using Pear Pizazz and Highland Heather Ink Pads, I stamped
the images onto Whisper White cardstock.

I added a Highland Heather mat under the White to make it stand out.

The bird and the flowers were die cut and fixed using Dimensionals.

I used Itty Bitty Greetings for the messages on this one.

Here is the card that inspired me.
It is by bloglovin.com

Sketches - Day 4

The card that I made today, I really loved playing with.

Using Tropical Chic stamp set, the coordinating DSP and only Whisper White cardstock.

I added a small strip of paper then embossed the white strips of card.
I used the really lovely Subtle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

They were then fixed with Dimensionals onto the card base.
I went on to cut one of the flowers from the remaining piece of DSP and added that too.

Both of the messages were from Petal Palette and inked with Shaded Spruce Ink.

This is the lovely card made by Shari Carroll that inspired me today.

Sketches - Day 3

Today I have made a very, very simple card.
It has 2 basic colours and Whisper White.

Calypso Coral and Petal Pink are the 2 colours.
I stamped the banner image across each and then cut them back.

I used Pick A Pennant stamp set. It's perfect for adding your own messages as I have,
by adding Brother.

It's my brother's birthday next week and his wife follows our blog.
She will get to see it before he does!

I hope he like the simplicity of it.
Below is the sketch that I used for my inspiration.

Sketches - Day 2

Today I went a little square!
I don't often make square cards but I though that this way is better.

I made a 14.85 cm square card in Whisper White Thick card and then embossed it
using the NEW Stampin' Up! folder called Subtle. Gorgeous!!

It almost makes the card look like Watercolor paper with the subtle texture on it.
Then using Blueberry Bushel and Pineapple Punch, I cut all of the squares out.

I used the small 1/2" circle punch to snip off the corner on everything.
All of the images were stamped in Blueberry Bushel on Whisper White and Vellum cardstock but I fussy cut all of the flowers and used the coordinating punch for the larger flowers and butterfly.

I added the Vellum images using Clear dots and gently lifted the sides
of the images to give more depth.

I used Pop of Petals for the flowers and Petal Palette for the messages.

Here is the card that inspired me to make mine.
