Laser Cut Papers - Day 4

Day 4 and I've used the same Beautifully Detailed Papers again.
This time, I have used some of the long edge pieces of which there are many in the pack.
For more information on the papers, please click HERE

I just LOVE the beautiful colour Gorgeous Grape with or without the Highland Heather card. Perfection!
Anyway, a mat of Whisper White below the Gorgeous Grape makes the top layer stand out more.
I used Butterfly Gala stamp set for the butterflies and the sentiments.
For more information on the stamp set, please click HERE

There are 3 patterned papers on one edge of the papers and I have used 2 of them.
I also used the outer border of the edge pieces at the top of my card.

To break down the concentration of the purple, I added some little butterflies stamped in Lemon Lime Twist. I don't know about you but I am really going to miss the ink and card stock when it retires at the end of this month. :(

I just love all of the phrases that are being included into the stamp sets from Stampin' Up!

Laser Cut Papers - Day 3

The card today is made using the Beautifully Detailed Laser Cut papers.

This time I have used only half of one of the rectangle mats in the set.
Cut Diagonally, I glued it to the Merry Merlot Card stock using the Fine Tip Glue Pen.
The tip is perfect for gluing such delicate pieces onto a project.

I added the black cardstock to make the Pineapple Punch POP. I think it's worked well.

Wow Swap picture tutorial...

One of the  great things that as a Stampin' Up! demo we get to do is Swap at events. A swap is where we make samples and exchange them with one and other. A wow swap is where a group get together and agree to make a swap that is something extra special. This tutorial is for a version of the split card I swapped at the April OnStage event in Telford here in the United Kingdom. The card I swapped was an 20cm x 20cm card the one I've created below will fit in a standard C6 envelope and is 14.85cm x 10.5cm.

Materials
4 card stock  pieces each 7.45cm x 10.5cm
1 card stock piece 12.9cm x 8cm
1 card stock piece 12.9cm x 6cm
2 card stock piece 7cm x 4cm
Tools
Classic label punch
3/4" circle punch
scoreboard or trimmer with score blade
3d foamstrips and dimentionals
pencil and ruler
Method
1)   Cut card stock as below
2) Firstly create the mechanism Take the piece of card that measures 12.9cm x 6cm and using pencil gently mark at 0.5cm in on the short side and 1cm on the long side as below.
3) Next take the classic label punch and using the lines drawn as a guide punch 4 slots as shown below.
4) Now punch 8 circles with the 3/4" circle punch. Pop 4 dimentionals onto 4 of the circles as below.
5)  Next place the circles as below
6) Now place glue dots, with one side of the backing still in place, as shown
7) Turn the piece over and add 3d foam strips as shown below
8) Now place the piece of card stock measuring 12.9cm x 8cm on top of the 3d foam strips keeping the mechanism panel central on the card. Turn over so it looks like the below.
9) After moving 2 of the circles to the center of the mechanism  carefully  remove the backing from 2 of the glue dots , place one of the 7.45cm x 10.5cm pieces and place the card centrally to the mechanism as below,

10)  Repeat
11) now turn the piece over and affix 3d foam tape on each piece as shown.
12) now place the remaining 10.5cm x 7.45cm pieces atop of the corresponding pieces .
13)  Next take the 2 pieces that measure 7cm x 4cm and score at 1cm at one end of the long side of each piece as below.
14) now attach adhesive as shown
15) attach these piece , one on each side of the card on the back where the slots are visible.
16) Your card is now finished apart from decoration.

I hope this tutorial inspires you to have a go and make one for yourself.
Have fun

Birthday book tutorial..

Today I'm sharing a photo tutorial for the birthday book I shared at the Telford OnStage local event in April. I had the privilege of being a product spotlight presenter and the birthday book was one of my projects. People have been kind enough to want to know how I made the book so here is a tutorial using different papers but the same structure.  I hope you enjoy the tutorial and find it useful 😊

Ingredients
Cardboard backing from foil card packet

Coloured card stock

Pattern paper

 Method
1) cover the 2 cardboard piece with the patterned paper. Make sure if you use a directional pattern you cover the boards carefully.

 2) take the 17.5cm x 8cm piece of card and mark 3cm in on both sides of the longside. Then up 2cm on both ends of the short sides as below.

3) place the 14cm x 1.5cm piece of cardboard in the center of the marked are. Next line up the covers on each side of the center leaving a narrow gap . Glue the pieces down as below.

4) now fold the end pieces in and glue in place. Using a bone folder score down the narrow gap to allow the sides to fold together.

5) now use the 13.5cm x 29cm piece of card stock and cover the inside of the book as below.

6)  now to make the page holder.  Take a piece of coloured card stock measuring 13.5cm x 8.5cm. Then score along the short side at 1cm, 2cm, 3cm, 3.5cm, 4.5cm, 5.5cm, 6cm, 7cm and 8cm. As below.

7) now carefully fold the score lines and add tear n tape to the 1cm, 3.5cm and 6cm spaces as shown below.

8) fold and adhere as shown below. Fold the 2 outer pieces back and stick down.

9) next add tear n tape as shown to the page holding piece.

10) now place the flat side in the center of the book as shown.

11) now take the 3 pieces of 13.5cm x 26.5cm coloured card and score each one at 13.5cm and 14cms.

12) now fold each page ,note that there is a long side side and a shorter one. Place the longer side inside the binding strips as shown.

13) That is the basis of the book. Now print out the calendar pages onto copier paper and trim to the black outline edges. Now affix one to each of the 12 pieces of coloured card as below.

14) next place each card in order into the book and your birthday book is ready to decorate as you like 😊

Well that was a very photo heavy post but I do hope it inspires you to have a go yourself . Below is the link to the calendar pieces.
