When you say watercolour what does your mind think of first? Gentle scenes? Pretty florals? Or a background wash?
Well today's card has non of that!! But it is a watercolour technique....for beginners because you can't get it wrong!!
All you need is a piece of shimmery cardstock, acetate or a large acrylic block, water based marker pens and a spritzer of water.
Next scribble the marker pens onto the acrylic block . Then spritz gently with water. Now in one swift movement turn it onto the shimmery cardstock. Now gently apply pressure and watch as the card drinks up the ink.
Every time you do this you'll get a different look so it's great to make lots to save for future cards 😉
Now all I did was stamp repeatedly over the background in black ink. I then used a black card base and a simple band and sentiment to show how a subtle background can pop.
