Make it simple Monday Sweet Candy Canes

 Welcome, Welcome to those who haven't been before thank you for stopping by and for those who have been before glad to have you back 😃 After a busy weekend involving my grandson and lots of cake, all in a good cause I'll have you know!!, I was very relieved that today is #makeitsimplemonday. My project today is great gor those who are time poor or just starting on their stamping journey. Using a fun set called Sweet Candy Canes with really nice sentiments made it super easy to be inspired!

If you know me you know I like nontraditional colour palettes and I'm rather keen on top folding portrait card bases. So this is what I came up with...

I love a white card base it just goes with anything! I folded thw cardstock so that the fold ran along the top edge. I call this an A frame or tent fold card. Folding this way works well with both portrait or landscape cards.

I stamped the candy canes in a shade of red called real red and a bluey green called  pool party.  I think it gives the colour palette a contemporary twist. 

The sentiment was stamped in a lovely rich blue called starry sky. 

I then repeated the card but on a landscape orientation. 

I think it works both ways. What do you think? Do you go for landscape?  Or portrait?  When making your cards?

And just for fun look at what happened when I was taking the photos!! I didn't notice until I was editing them 🤣 I couldn't have done it if I'd tried 🤣🤣🤣
