Tips tricks and techniques Tuesday Share a Milkshake

Today's card features a simple technique using the dies that are a part of the Share a Milkshake bundle

I used the die for the lattice to create a mask using masking paper. Which I placed on the bottom right hand side of a white mat.

I then took a beautiful pale purple colour ink called fresh freesia and a blending brush and applied ink over the masked area.

The fun part as always is removing the mask to reveal what lies beneath.

Top tip here save the mask it might prove useful 😉

Next I decided to die cut the little dish and spoon in silver foil. Do they remind you of the stainless steel coupe dishes that were all the rage in the 70's and 80's? They sure do me!!

I kept the colour palette very mid century modern again. I kept it simple as I wanted the look to be quite clean and simple.
Now lets return to the mask from earlier.
I decided it was too pretty to not use in some way.
So I decided to use it to decorate the inside mat for the card. Now the tricky part is that as it's a fine detail die cut it can be hard to adhere. So I have a trick to share...
I take a silicon mat and add a spot of liquid glue.

Next dab the die cut into the glue ...

The glue stays on the die cut and the excess remains on the silicon sheet. Which can be washed off with ease. I adhered the die cut ver a corner of the mat for the inside of my card.

I then trimmed the excess off.. but kept it and adhered it onto the card base before adhering the mat to the inside of the card base.

The other little touch to my card that doesn't really show in the photo's is that the cherry ontop is shiny.

This was achieved by stamping the cherry then when it's dry stamping over the top with versamark . Then used clear embossing powder to give it that sheen. This was easy to do as the stamps are photopolymer.

I love the way this card came together.
