Wow Wednesday already! How time flies when you're having fun 😁 and Watercolour Wednesday's are always fun! If you know me you'll know that I love checks of all types madras, gingham, tartan all are fab! So for today's inspiration I called upon my inner check to create a background for another card using the Everyday Details stamp set.
The background is very easy to create just go with the flow and don't try to be too precise. I added a few drops of pink reinker onto a palette then added just 2 drops of water. Using the largest waterpainter simply swipe the colour in one direction onto a piece of white cardstock. Now this is what I'd call a dry watercolour technique very little water is used so working on basic white cardstock is fine. I would recommend creating a few panels so that you can get a feel for the process.
Next add 2 drops of memento tuxedo black reinker on to the palette and add a few drops of water. This time use the medium size brush from the waterpainter trio. Now add lines in the opposite direction to the first lines. Again don't worry about being perfectly straight this is an impression of a check not an exact piece.
Put the pieces to one side and start to create the card. Using the nest stamp stamp in a bright pink onto white cardstock then fussy cut it out. Using a piece of vellum die cut a circle from the coordinating Everyday Details dies. These dies offer so much to any card !
Next stamp a sentiment and create a A6 card base and put the card together.
I love this technique! I'm anxious to try it in other colors as well. Thank you for sharing
