Tech 4 Stampers blog hop

 Hello and welcome.  If your new here my name is Cary and I'm one half of 2 Big Girls Crafting.  The theme for this months Tech 4 Stampers blog hop is pattern paper. Now I don't know about you but I have a tendency to squirrel pattern paper away in my stash! So this month's blog hop is a great reason to just use it not stash it!

When you use some of your precious paper what do you do with the off cuts? Are you like me and save all the scraps?  I put them back in the packet and admire them some more 🤣. Well this time I'm sharing 2 cards that use some of those pretty little bits of paper. 

It starts with a sheet of copier paper 0.5cm (1/8") bigger all around than the finished size you want the panel to be. Then seperate your scraps into piles of bits that are roughly the same shape and or size. 

For my first sample I had a pile of small rectangles left over from a previous project. I suggest that you lay the pieces out before adhering them to the copier paper. This allows you to get the most appealing layout. Once you're happy adhere them to the panel.Make sure that the edges butt up to each other and none of the copier paper is visible.  Then trim to the size of the final panel. This way you can be sure that there are no gaps along the edges.

A die cut sentiment from the  Wanted to Say dies,  a white card base and the first card is complete.

For the second sample the scraps of pattern paper were random lengths and widths.  But using the same method as above they were adhered to a panel of copier paper.  On my desk I also has a few die cut pieces in basic white cardstock.  I layered these over the top of the pattern paper panel.  The die cuts are from the Friends for Life dies as are the sentiment die cuts on this card.

The scraps for both these cards are from the fantastic Full of Life pattern paper pack.
