Watercolour Wednesday Easter Bunny

Today's card is one made using the Easter Bunny stamps to make shockingly an Easter card !!! Yes I know it's  a bit early but hey it had to be done didn't it? 🤣

For today's card I wanted to create a striped watercolour background.  So I started with a piece of white cardstock and some strips of masking paper. I then added ink to some acrylic blocks and added drops of water. I then used my waterbrush to add the ink all over the cardstock.

My top tip for using the masking paper with watercolour washes is to make sure it's dry before you attempt to remove it!

I love the reveal when you remove the masking paper!
Next I used white embossing powder and heat embossed the egg stamp on the coloured stripes. It shows more in real life .

I loved the background so much I didn't want to detract from it too much so kept it simple with just a sentiment and a punched out bunny.

I love how the card turned out . Especially the bunny punched from pattern paper. So much so I just had to add one to the inaide of the card too!

The soft colours and the delicate embossing make for a card that is gentle but still quite bright because I chose a blue card base.

Tips tricks and techniques Tuesday Easter Bunny

When I first started crafting with Stampin' Up! One of the things I loved were the punches.  So when I signed up one of my first purchases were lots of the punches! I love the quality, versatility and the practicality of a punch. So when I saw that the Easter Bunny stamps came with a cute coordinating punch I was a very happy.. bunny!! 🤣🥕 The other nice thing about buying the Easter Bunny stamps and  Bunny punch as a bundle is that they are cheaper as well as super cute!

So one of my favourite things to do with a punch is to use them to create texture on my cards. I often start by punching out muliples in the same colour cardstock as the card mat. Then adhere them all over the mat. This tone on tone plus the added texture creates gorgeous backgrounds.

So for today's card I did just that . I started with a  basic white card mat measuring 14.85cm x 10.5cm,  the same as my card front. I then punched out basic white bunnies.

I also used my Stamparatus,  stamp positioning tool, to create a reverse image of the bunny.  This is so easy with the Stamparatus and a silicon sheet.

You start by placing the silicon sheet into the corner of the platform.  Then place the stamp onto the plate. And stamp the bunny onto the silicon sheet twice.

Then place a piece of cardstock over the silicon mat carefully.  Reink the stamp and stamp again. Carefully take the cardstock out and look both sides have bunny on them!

Now punch the bunny out and you can use him either way round!

I then stamped and punched another bunny and added colour to both of their ears and cheeks.

I the stamped the little carrot stamp so that the came together to create a carrot heart.

I used basic grey ink to do all my stamping for this project as I like the softer look it gives.

I coloured the carrot heart with a light orange colour and a bright green for the carrot tops. I then fussy cut the carrot heart out.

So how did it all come together?  Like this....

I love the way the white bunnies create a fab texture for the background.

I also stamped another carrot heart on the inside panel for this card. I then added some of the off cut bunnies on to the mat as well.

So there you have it a cute Valentines's card made using an Easter stamp set.

Happy Valentines's day ❤

Make it simple Monday Easter Bunny

Hoppy Monday everyone.  This week is all about the uber cute stamp set called Easter Bunny As the name implies it's  a set with bunnies and eggs ...but it's so much more!!!

Aren't they just adorable???

So for today's #makeitsimplemonday inspiration I have created 2 cute cards using stamps ink and paper.

For the first card I stamped the bunny and added a touch of colour to his ears and soles of his feet. I then stamped the sentiment. I thought it looked fine but not fab so... I took a straight edge and a basic grey fine tip marker and drew some lines.

The lines ground the image on the card front nicely and give the whole card a lovely graphic feel .

Next I decided to use another of the cute bunnies from the set . I used the same technique with the marker to add that little something something...

What do you think? Don't you agree that they are some uber cute bunnies? And what about the combination of graphic and cutesie?
Come back tomorrow for more inspiration using this set.

Fun Fold Friday - He's All That

Hello and thank you for joining me today. Today's final card of the week using the He's All That stamp set, I have been able to make my son's birthday card. It's taken so long because of all the interruptions from him! He must know that I'm making his card! To open this card you have to bend the sides backwards to slip them out of the centre catch. I have no idea what it's called but I know that Cary made one many years ago. It's really very easy. We tell all of our class attendees the cards are easy to make but again this one really is.

I started with a piece of card 14.85cm by 29.7cm. The 29.7cm is the full length of a piece of A4 card in the UK. From there, I scored it 3 times. 7.4cm, 14.85cm and 22.25cm and they were well burnished. Then it was a case of decorating it. I cut 2 panels in Soft Succulent a light green, 2 in Sahara Sand a very soft beige and 2 pieces in Cajun Craze a rusty red colour. The sizes are 14.4cm by 6.8cm. The DSP, again from the He's The Man were all 6.4cm by 13.85cm. I used the Sahara Sand on the front and embossed them using the new folder called 3D Metal Plate and then added the papers on top. I used Basic White card for the centre panels on top of the Soft Succulent, green panels.

The locking panel in the centre was a strip of white card that I fixed the 3 sentiments to. I then attached a piece of card 4cm by 4cm. It was scored at 0.5cm, 0.5cm from each side and that left a 2cm piece that was used to adhere to the back of the locking panel. the first 0.5cm piece on each side was used to adhere the centre panel to the card. I like the way that it becomes a focal part on the inside.

I finished off by stamping some of the sentiments to the white panels and then some more of the die cut images from the DSP again. I mounted each of them onto another piece of the card to enhance them.

Above and below are 2 views from above the card so you can see how the mechanism is folded.

To close the card and place in the envelope, you just fold the sides back again and close the card behind the sentiments band.

Well, that's it from me for this week, Cary will be back on Monday ready to share her amazing creations with you. Please stop by and see what she's been up to.
We are both extremely busy at the moment as it's coming up for our annual Retreat which is in March. Only 4 weeks away. So very much to buy, pack and organise. Then we will dissolve!!!

Until I return, as always please stay safe, keep well but most of all.....

KEEP ON CRAFTING

Thank you again,

This or That Thursday - He's All That

Well here we are on Thursday's this or that projects. I had great fun in the cards today, in fact I made 4 but these 2 my family all love so here they are. Using the He's All That stamp set, I stamped 2 sentiments onto Basic White card then put them aside. I cut several pieces of the DSP, Designer Series Papers from He's The Man papers and the matching cards. I had several scraps of papers anyway so I cut several of them to the same size and different sizes and just played with them. The little cross hatch shapes are from the dies in the set All That. The circle on the right-hand side is also a die from the same kit. This time, lots of paper placing, die cutting and a little stamping.

Watercolour Wednesday - He's All That

Today's card is a little bit pathetic for a water coloured card! I had a scrap of paper and using a clear block, I scribbled some Pacific Point (blue), Sahara Sand (light beige) and Crumb Cake (beige) all over the block and then spritzed it with lots of water. I literally spread it over the scrap paper a few times and then repeated the process until I got the colouring that I wanted. I cut the bottom part of a C6 mat of DSP and added a brown border below to make it look like the side of the river. I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso a gorgeous rich brownand die cut it out for the front.

Technique Tuesday - He's All That

Today's post is to encourage you to use your papers to the fullest that you can. I have used the stamp set, He's All That on the inside of the card only today but on the outside I've used more of the Designer Series Papers called He's The Man which coordinates with the stamp set. There are 12 sheets of papers, 2 of 6 different designs and each pair of papers has another pattern on. Today's card I used one of my least favourite colours, Cajun Craze. It really isn't a me colour. That's a really strange thing to say because I actually like the card that I've made! I paired it with Very Vanilla card to tone the colour down and added one of the Split Textures Dies over the top of the paper. Included in the pack of papers are 2 sheets of die cut self-adhesive labels and banners etc. which is what I have used on the front of the card.
