Watercolour Wednesday - Changing Leaves

Hello, today's card has really made me feel like Autumn is here. Using the Changing Leaves stamp set, I started by stamping all 3 leaves onto a piece of watercolour paper using Versamark ink pad. I used my stamping platform to make sure that the whole images were on the paper so I stamped the images several times to make sure. I covered the whole sheet with Copper embossing powder from the Metallics range of embossing powders and then heat set it. After a few minutes to ensure it was cool, I began soaking the watercolour paper with lots of water and then added stripes of colour from a block. I had used my Stampin' Write Marker pens on a large block using Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade pens. I then spritzed the water all over the block and added the block to the paper which have all of the leaves on. The colours mingled together somewhat and turned a hazy colour of light orange once it was dry. I had to use my heat gun to speed the drying up.

Once dry, I cut a smaller mat than usual at 8.52cm by 12.5cm or 5" by 3,3/8" of the leaves and added it to a plain white mat. I embossed the card base with the Fern embossing folder to add some more texture and using Dimensionals, I added the 2 mats onto the card base in Pumpkin Pie. A simple 'Thank You' and it was complete.

This or That Thursday - Legendary Ride

Today's cards are both rather bright. One has lots of different colours on the DSP (THAT) and the other has only a few very bright colours on. Using the Legendary Ride again today, I had heat embossed the larger motorbike onto a pale pink background wash that I made yesterday for the Watercolour Wednesday but never used. Then I stamped several of the smaller bikes in some of the colours on the Lemon Lime Twist card. (THIS). The colours that I used were Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral and Lemon Lime Twist ink pads. The links here show you the actual colours in more detail than you will see in the ink refil or ink pad.

I wanted to follow the line of the colour wash on the paper. The papers I used today are from the Full of Life pack of DSP.  So very bright but gorgeous! I stamped the bikes in the same colours as the stripes straight onto the DSP and then stamped the motor bikes in the 3 main colours onto white card and die cut them all out. As the paper has diagonal stripes on it was difficult to cut the paper to fit the card but I really don't mine the gaps on some (2) of the corners which I filled up with some of the flames and smaller ones across the card.

THAT

My THAT card is much simpler. As I had the embossed bike and decided that I wanted some more of the bright colours which along with thousands of others, love this beautiful sheet of paper! I added the motorbike using Dimensionals (foam shapes) to give some dimension as I had done with the first card and the small motorbikes. The only extra thing was on the inside, As I had used a white mat for the inner sentiments, I matched the coloured border from the front onto the edges of the white mat too.

Here are the beautiful papers that I used today. Full of Life DSP

This or That Thursday - Backgrounds - It's In The Stars

Hello, thank you for stopping by. Today for my first card, I stamped the image from It's in the Stars using Versamark Ink pad onto a piece of A5 white card. Once done, I turned the card around and then repeated it across the other side of the card. I poured White Embossing Powder across the whole sheet and then heat set it. Using a Blending Brush I coloured the white card using Starry Sky ink. I didn't want it too dark so was very careful how I applied it. Once complete, I used a tissue to rub over the stars well to make them shine. Using the In The Moment stamp set, I stamped one of the images and coloured it using my blends pens. Then I did as I always like to do and fussy cut it all out. I stamped and added some sentiments and completed the THIS card.

THIS AND THAT

THAT

My next card is using the other half of the blue sky and stars. This time I have die cut some of the Cheerful Daisies and pieced them altogether. I added a few of the fine leaves behind them, some sentiments later and the THAT card is complete too.

Watercolour Wednesday - Seasons of Fun

Today's watercolour card and all of this week's projects are being made using a pair of stamp sets that are Host items. When you hold a party, class or workshop and orders are placed to the value of £150 in the UK, the hostess will get to spend 10% of the order value on anything within the Stampin' Up! catalogues. FOR FREE!! WOO HOO!! More info later. So using the Seasons of Fun stamps today I made this lovely little pumpkin girl card. I had so much fun colouring her in. Once I used each colour, I used a water brush to wash the colour all over the area. It was great! I could just imagine this for a fancy dress party of even Halloween. This image will make a brilliant card for lots of occasions. I stamped this using a Black Stazon Ink pad and then several of the watercolour pencils. It could be done using collection 1 or 2. It's really a personal choice. I then die cut the white mat and an orange mat (Pumpkin Pie) using the Hippo and Friends dies. I used the gorgeous green of Shaded Spruce as the mat behind the orange but embossed it with the Bark embossing folder first. I love the texture that it gives.

That was it. A very simple watercolouring card for today that hasn't taken lots of time to make either. Brilliant. I love it when that happens, not too technical.

For more information on the stamp set or any of the products that I have used today or this week, please click HERE It will open up in a new window for you.

The 10% minimum is earned at £150 and 10% of that  is £15.

This stamp set, Seasons of Fun is only £11 when you use the hostess pounds that are earned on a party of workshop. So that would leave still a further £4 plus to spend for FREE! The In Your Words stamp set is FREE to the hostess when they hold a party, class or workshop with sales of £275. Not bad at all eh?
