Throwback Thursday - Jar of Flowers

Hello on this gorgeous hot Thursday. It really does make a change to be able to say the here in the UK. Today's card using the Jar of Flowers stamp set is a shaker card. I didn't set out to make a shaker card but it just had to be done! I stamped the jar and the flowers then coloured them all in using several of the Blends pens. Now I love my Blends pens as much as I love my Stampin' Write Marker Pens AND my Watercolour pencils but today was just Blends. I decided to make it a shaker card as all of my vases have crystals at the bottom to help hold the flowers together so I felt that had to be done.

The sentiments once again are from the stamp set called Celebrating You. It is a perfect collection of lots of different everyday sentiments. It's the ideal stamp set to have for that sentiment that you need.

Watercolour Wednesday - Jar of Flowers

Thank you for joining me today. Using the Jar of Flowers stamp set again today, I stamped 3 lots of the sunflowers onto white card and started watercolouring them in. I stamped a block onto the Daffodil Delight ink pad, added a few drops of water and using my waterbrush, started to colour them all in. I completed them all adding lots of different colours and colour strengths along the way. Then I set them aside to dry.

While they were drying, I took a white mat and embossed it with 1 of the Thanks and Hello embossing folder set, as you can see, I chose the thanks folder. I like the way it says thank you in so many languages. Perfect. I added Shaded Spruce to the back of the mats and for the inside mats too.

A very straightforward card with the fun of watercolouring.

Technique Tuesday - Jar of Flowers

Hello, for today's card using the Jar of Flowers stamp set, I've gone back to my granddaughter's colouring pencils again. I used a piece of blue card in Starry Sky, and a piece of the paper from the Sun Prints DSP pack for the main background. The main colours of the DSP is a soft beige called Sahara Sand and several shades of blue. I added another strip of the striped pattern and then stamped the flower image from Jar of Flowers then coloured it in. I love playing with Bella's colouring pencils as she has so many different ones! I cut a piece of white card and embossed it using one of the Greenery set of 2 folders, which has sadly retired. There are a few more new ones out that will coordinate really well but I haven't yet been able to buy! After a few sentiments from the Celebrating You stamp set and then adding the flowers, this one is completed.

Make It Simple Monday - #simplestamping - Jar Of Flowers

Hello and thank you for stopping by. This week I am going to be playing with the stamp set called Jar of Flowers. I have had this for a while now but done only a few cards with it so I thought that I would have some fun this week. Today as this is #simplestamping especially aimed for the beginner crafter, I made this White card. I started with a white mat and stamped the image in Black Memento Ink Pad then added a little dimension by adding the sentiment also in Memento but placed on with Dimensionals or foam shapes.

Today's Facebook live was the last in Cary's mini series "Using everyday household items to make simple cards"

Here is the link to the video

Here is a photo of the finished cards. Cary finished them after the live by adding a sentiment to both. She also used the detailed hydrangea stamp from the Hydrangea Haven stamp set to over stamp in a soft grey ink.

Fun fold Friday Happiness Abounds

Happy Friday 😀 I hope you have a good weekend planned maybe with lots of crafting..... We sure do! We are hosting our first all day class in-person for such a long time!!! Our all day events are filled with crafting, laughter and scrumpy food.... just right for a day of me time!! While I'm caught up in getting ready for tomorrow's fun I wanted to make a fun, easy, fold to share with you today as it's the last day of inspiration using the Hues of Happiness collection.

The fold I chose is a modified gatefold and very simple to achieve. It starts as a piece of cardstock measuring 14.85cm x 21cm.  Scored at 5.25cm from each end of the long side.

Next you'll need 2 pieces of cardstock measuring 10.5cm x 6cm and a piece measuring 6cm x 9cm.

Then all you need to do is fold the short sides in towards the center of the card to create the basic gatefold card.

Next adhere patterned paper to the front side panels. Now take the 2 10.5cm x 6cm pieces of cardstock and adhere patterned paper to them. Then take one piece and position it across the front of the card. Make sure there is equal space for the second panel. Ahere the panel only on the right-hand side. Repeat with the second piece ensuring that you only adhere it to the left-hand side.

Now to add the fibal panel. Adhere patterned paper to the remaining piece. Then position it in the bottom left side of the bottom horizontal panel. Adhere it only at the bottom.

Now decorate as desired.  I kept it simple. I die cut some of the pretty roses from the patterned paper in the collection and added a stamped sentiment from the stamp set.

The card opens ....

..... At a time...

.....To reveal the inside . Which I decorated. To give it impact I used more of the gorgeous patterned paper. And another of the great sentiments from the Happiness Abounds stamps.

I have had great fun using this amazing collection of products. I love how versatile they are.  From super simple to full on all can be achieved with the Hues of Happiness collection.

Well as they say in the cartoons of my childhood " that's all folk" .... well for this week anyway 😉

Please join me here next week when Gill will be sharing the inspiration with us all.

Have fun

Cary xx

Throwback Thursday Happiness Abounds

Sorry I'm late sharing today it's  been a bit busy here due to unexpected dentist visits! Any way today's inspiration is a very bold and vibrant card that just say's  summer to me! Using the Happiness Abounds bundle and the beautiful Hues of Happiness pattern papers .

The paper that I  covered the card front in reminds me of a beautiful rose garden all yellow and pink . I used another stip of paper that echos the colours but looks like a piece of painted canvas.

I used one of the dies from the bundle to cut the pretty trellis on the white cardstock.  This die cuts and leaves some delicate details in place. I think its  beautiful 😍

The flower element  was stamped onto a piece of the paint on canvas paper then fussy cut out.

I stamped the sentiment and added some gorgeous iridescent rhinestones for a final touch and the card was complete.
