Tutorial - Double Z Card

Double Z Card

Cary posted some projects this week and we have had a request for a tutorial.
So here we go...
I'm not sure what the card fold is called but I call it my Double Z fold.
This first image is of one of the cards that our ladies made at our recent all day class.
I used Peekaboo Peach and Whisper White card stock and the DSP is from the
2016 - 2018 In color designer series paper.

I started by just playing about with a strip of Grid paper and got these folds.
A bit tatty I know but that's how I usually start with my folded cards.
Just using a scrap of paper!

This is the new version I made for the tutorial.

I started with a piece of  Emerald Envy card stock and cut it at 14.85 cm (just under 6 inches) by the full length of the card which is 29.7 cm. (8 and a half inches?)
I then scored along the long edge at, 10 cm. 16 cm. 22 cm. and 25.7 cm.

I then turned it so that the card was portrait to me and using a pencil marked
on the 10 cm score line 2.5 cm from the edge and again on the 22 cm line.

On the 22 cm score line I also marked at 5 cm from the edge and again at the end of the card at 5 cm.

I cut the excess off as shown. It doesn't matter if you work on the left or the right
of the card base, as long as all of the cutting is done on the one edge.

You can fold the card either way you like. Just as above and below.

Then measuring each of the panels, I matted a Whisper White mat on each if the facing panels.

I added some pieces of DSP from the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper. Again they need to measured to your card just in case the measurements are slightly different.

Next, I decorated the rest of the card by die - cutting some of the flourish pieces from
the Flourish Thinlits. Some are in DSP and others in the card stock.
Yes, that is a fine strip of DSP on the left.
As all of our ladies know...
"It's your card, so decorate it as you like"

I finished off by adding some different messages on the card mats using the Sweet Cupcake stamp set.

I hope you like the tutorial. If you have any questions or difficulties, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Please also share pictures of your cards when you make them?
We would love to see how you get on with any of our projects.

Small but perfect...

Well here in West Sussex  the weather is beautiful fingers crossed it will last for the bank holiday weekend.  The sunshine sure makes the gold on these cards and the box sparkle. The box is holds 6 note cards and envelope and would make a lovely gift☺
Well I hope your  weekend starts bright and beautiful and stays that way 😉 and I'll be back next week with more inspiration to share.
Have fun
Cary ☺

Bright and bold...

This week I've been showing projects using the colours from the Eastern Palace suite from Stampin Up  but today my card is  using 2 of the new incolors that are just made for each other..berry burst and Lemon Lime Twist.
The style of the card is caused from one that Gill created for our recent all day class. I loved it so the shape so much I had to have a go myself!  My card is decorated with card that I stamped as a single sheet then cut to fit the panels. The stamps are from the Eastern beauty stamp set.

Pop of colour....

Today's card is a square wiper card. It is quite hard to see in photos but I did my best 😉 The card folds  flat for postage then when opened it reveals a hidden little message.
I do so love the gorgeous new colour Lemon Lime  Twist it's so bright and zingie and goes so well with so many colours.

Today's cards are ones that were made for a recent class that we regularly hold.
The fold is called a Double Diamond
I hope you'll join us for more ideas as the week goes on. 😊

Acetates - Day 5

For my last project this week, I went card crazy! As Stampin' Up! demonstrators, Cary and I hold workshops and classes. To thank our hostess at a workshop we generally like to give a little thank you gift for them holding it. I thought that this would make an ideal gift.

I have made 6 little notelet cards with envelopes to fit and made a little container to pop them into. Yes, it's another sneak peak!

Very simple little cards and messages for gift cards or whatever. I have used the 2016/2018 In Color DSP stack all in Sweet Sugarplum and Whisper White. Some of the papers I punched out the corners
with a 1" circle punch and some I used a corner rounder punch.

I used the Classic Label punch and Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set for the words.
The insides were all left blank.

Here is the side view of the box, this time I have used the silver side on the outside and gold inside.
Gorgeous design on the acetate isn't it?

The box has slots in the sides and handle holes each end too.

I hope you have found some inspiration from this weeks projects. Please share them if you have.
Don't forget to pop in next week to see what creations Cary will come up with.
Many thanks, Gill

Acetates - Day 4

Today, I went floral. I've used Jar of Love stamp set and the coordinating dies called Everyday Jars Framelits.
I started off by die cutting out the medium sized jar shape, there are 3 different sizes!

Using Calypso Coral for the card base and Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the images then die cut some and fussy cut the others. I used Calypso Coral and Old Olive Ink pads for the stamping.
They were all glued to the card using a Fine Tip Glue pen from Stampin' Up! It's perfect for sticking intricate items to any of your projects.

I love the little flowers which were made using the 2 step stamping method.

2 simple words to decorate the front of the card and a simple message for the inside
again using Jar of Love stamp set.

A few little hearts and some simple stamping to finish off.
