Not always so dark....

The black magic technique doesn't just have to be on very dark coloured card. It works well on lighter colours too as this sample shows.
For this card I stamped in black on a kraft card mat several times. I then took a blender pen and filled in the areas that I wanted to add colour to with Stampin Up craft whisper white ink. This ink is a pigment ink and takes time to dry so either dry with a blast from a heat tool or wait awhile for it to dry thoroughly.
Once dry I took my blender pen and used various shades of Stampin Up classic inks to colour the areas that I had suited out.
I love the look this technique supplies on kraft card and I hope you do too. 😊

Colour in the night...

Today's inspiration shows how you can colour on night of navy card stock.
Firstly I stamped the image in versamark and then embossed it with white embossing powder.
I coloured in the image with water colour pencils. I used the pencils dry as they are strong creamy colours that show nicely on the dark cardstock.

Black magic....

When I hear the phrase Black Magic I immediately think...chocolate!!! (Here in the UK it's the name of a box of chocolates 😉) but in the world of papercrafting it's a technique that allows you to colour on black or dark coloured card. This week's samples will all feature the technique.
For today's sample on a piece  of black card stock I stamped in versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Next I used a chalk pen to colour in the spaces between the embossed lines. Once the chalk pen was dry I used Stampin Write Markers to colour in over the chalked areas.
I then mounted the piece onto a white mat and fixed it onto a a card base and added a sentiment.
Join me tomorrow for another sample showing this fun technique 😃

Rich Razzleberry - Day 5

For my last project today my card is a pretty, simple card for someone in hospital.

I used the lovely Hopeful Thoughts stamp set today.
The flourish was coloured in with Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive Marker pens.
I stamped the image 4 times over the mat.
The Whisper White mat was stamped then I scored diagonally both ways to get the quilt effect.

A simple Get Well message completes the front of the card.......

and the inside message says it all.

I hope you've been inspired by this week's projects.
Thank you for popping by and please drop by next week to see
what delights Cary has in store for you.

Rich Razzleberry - Day 4

I've given up being messy and gone back to making clean crisp cards which is more me.
Thius white on white card just has a shot of colour in one corner and the message in the other.

I embossed the white mat with Garden Trellis Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
Punched out 2 Rich Razzleberry Daisies and 1 Whisper White using the new gorgeous Daisy punch
and using glue dots stuck them together

Using Awesomely Artistic stamp set for the message, dragonfly and the large floral bunch, I coloured in the flowers and leaves then fussy cut the image out and added it to the card.

A few twists of Silver Metallic Thread then the daisies on the top.
I used one of the large Glitter Enamel Dots for the daisy centre.

The dragonfly was stamped in Smoky Slate and then gently
rock and rolled around the Bermuda Bay Ink pad to add the different colour.
Better Together was used for the message inside the card.

Rich Razzleberry - Day 3

While I was in the mood of being a little messy, I decided to use a clear block as a stamp.
I randomly stamped the block all over the Whisper White mat until I had this finished effect.

You can still see the lines from the edge of the block but I think that just adds interest to it.
This card is for a note card or catch up card to my sister.

While still out of my comfort zone with the messiness, I used the Crumb Cake DSP paper here. It is 1 of the 12 sheets from the Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper pack.
Not one of the colours that I usually use but I think it goes well with the card and Rich Razzleberry.

I used the Garden Trellis Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for the Whisper White banners.
Then added the pieces of Crumb Cake banners.
The messages are from Better Together stamp set.

It's my younger sister's birthday on Christmas day and though we don't get together very often
there is always so much to say in her Christmas card AND her birthday card.
Yes, she still gets 2 cards.
There's never enough room to write what I need to so this card will be perfect.

The chef and the cake on the paper is ideal for her birthday.

Rich Razzleberry - Day 2

Today's card is another simple one. Messy but simple.
This time I sponged the Whisper White background mat with
Pink Pirouette and Rich Razzleberry over a die cut Butterfly.

I die-cut another butterfly inWhisper White and gently sponged the edges with a little Rich Razz.
Before placing the butterfly I added the message from Confetti Celebration
At only £16.00 for the set of 10 celebratory stamps it's a bargain and a must have stamp set.

I added the little sparkle by winding some Silver Metallic Thread
onto a Mini Glue Dot before adding the butterfly.

I finished off with the Happy Birthday and a few balloons
in 1st, 2nd and 3rd image of Rich Razzleberry.

I love the way the balloons change colour by using all of the ink up on the stamp.

Weekly Inspiration - Rich Razzleberry

Rich Razzleberry

This is a lovely rich wine colour and blends well with lots of the other
Stampin' Up! colors
For my first card this week I made an easel card and have
used the gorgeous Bloomin' Heart Thinlits dies

To start,I used 1 of the 4 templates Pattern Party Decorative Masks,
I sponged onto Whisper White card stock using the mask
in Pink Pirouette until I got the background that I wanted.

The crisp and clean heart die was cut in Rich Razzleberry cardstock was mounted
with Dimensionals to add another layer to the card.

The stamped messages were from Better Together.
I love this stamp set as it is so versatile and has lovely words to it too.
It has 19 stamps for only £33.00

Another very simple card that can be cased very easily.
'Case' to new crafters is Copy And Share Everything and most crafters love to share their work.

Graceful Garden day 5
For my last project this week I've made another simple card.

Using Whisper White, Basic Black and Berry Burst cardstock, I stamped the flower
several times over the front mat then stamped another in Berry Burst onto another piece of white.

I have made a type of spotlighting with the Berry Burst this time.
I like the way it makes it POP off the card.

I used All Things Thanks for the messages but mounted them onto the
Berry Burst cardstock mat to make them stand out again.

I hope you have found some inspiration from this week's cards.
Thank you for popping by.

Graceful Garden stamp set day 4

Todays card was very fiddly but not hard to make!
Using Calypso Coral and Whisper White cardstock.

I stamped the flower and coloured in using the Calypso Coral and Old Olive watercolor pencils.

Using the Happy Birthday Thinlits, I die cut the message out from the centre.
Then cut out 5 more on blank Whisper White cardstock.

The die cut images were glued to each other and the coloured image from the mat was
then glued onto the others.
The fiddly part is adding back ALL of the diecut pieces from the stamped image into the background.

A piece of Whisper White Classic Weave Ribbon to decorate

The message inside was from the Banners for You stamp set.

Graceful Garden stamp set day 3

Today's card continues on from the Berry Burst one from yesterday.
This time on the background I used the Dapper Denim sheet of DSP
Only the paper is lighter at the bottom this time.

Again another very simple card using 2 images of the large flower.
One is diecut using the Layering Circles framelits dies
This time the card base is Pool Party and Dapper Denim for the mat.

I stamped Happy Anniversary onto Pool Party cardstock and fussy cut the banner.
The stamps used on the message were from Banners For You stamp set.
This is a lovely set with lots of sentiments on to offer a wide choice for many occassions.

I used a piece of  the NEW Classic Weave ribbon under the banner.
I stamped the images and messages using Basic Gray Ink Pad.

A lovely message to finish this one off. Ideal for their anniversary.
