New Products

Today's project, I have made a one sheet wonder using ALL of the stamps from the
NEW stamp set Confetti Celebration (142034) £16.00 in Clear Mount

I have also used ALL of the NEW In Colours for the one sheet wonder.

One sheet wonders don't usually have any blank spaces which I like to have in all of my projects, so I added the white band across the front and raised the greeting with Dimensionals.

Please don't forget that you can buy 1 of each of the NEW IN Colours of Ink Pads
and also a Cardstock Pack which includes 4 sheets of each NEW In Colour and SAVE money.

Contact Cary or Gill to find out more.

New Product Inspiration

Playful Palette

This is the first of this weeks products that we're showing.
Until Wednesday 1 st June, we are legally bound not to show the products,
However, we can show what has been made with them.
This card was made for a special Stampin' Up! swap and to make so many, I made some one sheet wonders to use for the backgrounds.
Yes, there's a lovely splodgy image in the set.

I stamped the easel in Basic Black onto Sahara Sand cardstock and cut them out.
The patterned paper in the middle of the easel is a small piece cut from the
Designer Series Paper Stack, Playful Palette.
Loads of amazing arty designs in one pack! WOW!
The other colours used, apart from the Very Vanilla, are from the NEW range of In Colours.

A simple message just to finish off inside.

Don't forget to contact either Cary or Gill for a copy of the new Inspirational Book

Intruction-Corner folds

                                       Instructions for Corner Folds.

Thank you for the requests for these folds that I used for the card below..

Starting with a square 8.5 cm by 8.5 cm
Mark the centre on each of the 4 sides. Starting with 1 corner, score between the the first 2 marks. Then a score line 1 cm from the first score line. Repeat this on all 4 sides.
Obviously, if you use a larger square, you may want to adjust the placing of the secon score line.

Fold both pieces on all score lines.
Add glue to all 4 corners, only glue half of each of the first triangles.
Fix the DSP onto the cardstock leaving a small border all around.
Re-enforce the folds and you will find the reverse of the DSP showing slightly.

The 2nd square is 6 cm by 6 cm. The DSP is 5.5 cm square.

Very simple and straightforward.
As I've said before... I don't do complicated!
Please send a photo of the projects that you make using any of the inspirations that you find
from Cary and Gill and we will be happy to add them to the blog.
With credit to you of course.

Scoreboard crazy

Friday folds

Hello again.
Today I went folds and score lines crazy!

I was playing with a square of card as you do and things happened.
I added some DSP, changed the sizing and here is what I ended up with.
The background mat, the Whisper White one, has been scored 3 times on each side
between all of the folded corners and adds the patterned background without stamping.
The DSP is Pop of Pink papers and they are right up my street!
B E A U T I F U L!!!
As I have added 4 squares I made a C5 card.

As you can imagine because of the folds, the card is deeper than normal.
I have put a single dimensional under the messages and taped under the corrners so that it doesn't stand too proud.

Close up of the top of the card.

Close up of the bottom of the card.

Now I know that you won't know the papers that I've used.
Yet!
They are new designs which will be out on Wednesday 1st June.
 Only 6 more days!
YIPPEE!!!!!
Thank you for stopping by this week. I will be back next week with some new projects using the NEW PRODUCTS!!!
I hope you will like them,
Gill

Score Board Real Red and White

This is the season that weddings start to take place, so I thought I would get ahead of myself and make some wedding cards as I have a few to go to this year.
So, here is my first one using the score board.

This time I used the Quilting design, adding little punched hearts from the
Confetti Hearts Border Punch on the cross over points and in the top of the 2 main hearts.
It is very easy to score at an angle by just turning the paper to the angle of your own choice.

I just love Real Red cardstock!
If you knew me you would know that I just love wearing that very same Red.
It's cheerful, bright and a very warm colour.
                                                          See you tomorrow.
Only 7 more sleeps until the new Inspiration Book comes out!
WOO! HOO!

Scoreboard

Today I went for a more subtle effect with the Score board.
I have used Pool Party, Whisper White and Bermuda Bay.
I love the soft and the stronger tone of the Pool Party and Bermuda Bay together. Perfect!

I Stamped the 2nd image onto the Whisper White cardstock before scoring.
On this card, I scored vertically, every 0.5 cm.
I matted and layered the scored sheet of Whisper White onto the Bermuda Bay which was raised with Dimensionals.
A little twist of Silver Metallic Thread to finish off.

Instructions for Fan

Fan Instructions from Art Deco style card.

I started by using a square 21 cm by 21 cm.
Cut the square in half diagonally. You will only need one of the traingles.

Lay the triangle on the Scoreboard against the measuring bar so that the centre point is on a groove.
Score from the top to the bottom on one side of the centre point, then repeat on the other side.

The triangle completely scored.
Fold the triangle lines up and down like a fan.

Using a Score tool, reinforce the crease on each line and on both sides of the triangle.

 One half folded .

The triangle completely folded and scored.
Your Fan should now look like this above.

Continue the folding and scoring then using Tombow glue I put some between each of the folds.

Do the same on the other side of the triangle. This will help the fan to stay tight.

I tend to add a small bulldog clip on the end to help the glue while it dries.
Usually, it only takes a couple of minutes just while I'm putting the tools away.

The completed fan.
I hope this helps you to make some lovely projects.
Please send a picture to Cary or me to show what you've made.
Thank you.

Scoreboard-Multi Facetted box

Today I have played and made a Multi Facetted box.
I've seen this made a few times and thought that it was time I made one too.
So here goes.

I used Elegant Eggplant for the box and Whisper White Craft Ink for the contrast colour.
I love Elegant Eggplant for it's rich purple colour. Gorgeous!

I stamped all over a sheet of A4, before marking and cutting, with the Whisper White ink
using the lovely flowers and the dragonfly etc. from Awesomely Artisitc.

The circular image was raised onto dimensionals to act as an opener for the box.
The lid of the box measures 2.5 inches or approximately 6.4 cm

Thank you to Pootles for this gorgeous box.

I am VERY pleased to say that Awesomely Artistic is making a welcome return to the new Stampin' Up! Inspiration book due out on 1st June.

Not long now thankfully. I can't wait to put my order in!!

Score Board

This week I an showing some projects using the Stampin' Up! Score Board.
This amazing tool to me is a must have.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Envelope and Gift bag boards too but this one is perfect for me.
My first project is the simple card I made for Father's Day which is coming up very soon.
A simple A5 card base in Basic Black cardstock with a Very Vanilla Mat.
The Gold Foil sheet has been embossed with
Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
The 'fan' was made using a a rectangle of cardstock cut diagonally from
top right to bottom left corners.
Then, using the Score Board, I scored every 1 cm right along the longest straight edge.
It was then fan folded and glued at the very bottom on both sides using Tombow glue.

The box was made using the Score Board also. A simple rectangle 6 cm larger than the card and scored at 1cm and 2 cm on each side.
Once again I used the Softly Falling TIEF for the Very Vanilla mat.
A simple message and name in a punched banner to finish on both the card and the box.

Looking forward to 1st June when you can get to finally see the amazing new products in the New Inspiration Book?

Please contact Cary or me if you would like a book and we will be happy to send you one.

Delicate and dainty...

Sometimes delicate is called for...and for me this sample ticks that box !
I created a random sponged background then placed the oh so pretty Bloomin' heart Thinlets die cut and mat over it so the colour gently glows through the ornate patten.

Well I hope you've  enjoyed  this week's inspiration and will join me in enjoying Gill's beautiful creations next week.
Have fun
Cary ☺ xx

Vintage highlights. ...

Today's sample is very simple and highlights how sponging can highlight!  Lol
The layers on the card are all sponged around the edges to create a vintage look.
The embellishment is from a new embossing folder which I then cut out and sponged the edges and raised areas.

Just paper and ink...

Isn't it amazing what you can do with paper and ink?
This sample uses torn copier paper to make the masks that I've used here.

You can use this technique to create scenes but sometimes it's just makes a nice banded background 😉

Tuesday 17 May 2016

Waste not .....

Today's samples show how you can sponge through a mask and use both the negative and the positive ....waste not want not!! Lol
Sponging is a great Way to create unique backgrounds just pick your colours and sponge away 😊

New week..Sponging fun!

Welcome to this week's inspiration 😊
This week we're going to share some ideas featuring sponging technique 😊
My first samples are actually how I store my sponges and sponge daubers. 😊

Friday 13 May 2016

Today I played with a little water colouring and 4 step stamping.
The background is from In The Meadow stamp set and the bird is from Picture Perfect.
I raised the bird onto Dimensionals to add more height.
I think it looks like it's hovering in mid flight.
Different depths of green were all done with Pear Pizazz Ink pad and a water brush.
The background was sponged with Soft Sky Ink pad and again,
I added more colour using the water brush.
Cary is the expert at Water Colouring so I hope you think she has taught me well
.
