Do you remember the first time you saw the magic that is heat embossing? It is one of the best techniques to share as it always brings a little, or large , wow to a project. With that in mind today's inspiration using the the Submarine Life stamps and punch shares a 2 simple ways to heat emboss using clear embossing powder.
The first technique is to stamp the image in versamark, which is the clear sticky ink that makes the powder stick, onto coloured cardstock then use clear embossing powder and heat set. The gives a lovely subtle sheen to the image.
The second way is where you take the punched shape and cover it in versamark then cover the entire shape in clear embossing powder. Top tip use tweezers to hold the sides of the punched shapes as you won't want your fingers so close to the hot end of the heat tool! This gives the entire punched shapes the same subtle sheen.
The colour palette for the card is bold and would work for both young and those who are young at heart.
The way to create the ray of light pattern on the card is to use the template pictured below. Start with a panel of coloured cardstock the measures 10.5cm x 14.85cm ( 4 1/4" x 5 1/2") Next mark down 7cm (2 5/8") on the left hand side as shown. 1cm (3/8"l along from the bottom left corner. And finally 1 cm and 2 cm ( 3/8" and 6/8") down from the top right-hand side. Cut by joining the lines as shown.
Next cut the exact same from a piece of basic white cardstock. You can choose to use different coloured cardstock or even pattern paper but for today's sample I chose white then added a subtle blue colour by blending ink over the area not being covered by the blue.
Adhere the 2 corner pieces to the second layer to complete the front panel. You can then trim the piece if you wish to have a coloured card base show around it as the sample shows.
For the inside I continued the heart motifs from the windows of the submarine just using the red of the card base instead of thw white of the windows.
And there you have it a cute way to send love to someone special ❤️
