Splashing about...

Today's samples are inspired by a card created by a talented Stampin up demo caฤบled Sarah Newick.
My colour combo for today is Tempting turquoise Melon mambo and Daffodil delight. They come together to create a real splash of colour perfect for a card to send to brighten someone's day ☺

Quick double diamond fold tutorial....

Last Monday I shared a card called a double diamond fold and have now got a quick photo tutorial for the card.
You will need a piece of card measuring the 12cm x29cm..
Now score along the long side at 6cm and 23cm on the long side and 6cm on the short side.
Then mark along the top and bottom at 11cm and 18cm.
Next mark along the Centre  score line at 8.5cm and 20.5cm. Now score between the 11cm and 8.5cm mark and 18cm and 20.5cm mark as shown below.

Now you need to fold all the score lines.

Then cut yourself 2 5.5cm square mats and one 7.5cm square mat and decorate as desired.
Glue the large panel just below the Venter score line as shown below.
 Then decode as desired.

I hope this helps but if you need any more information please feel free to contact me. ☺

Notes card box tutorial....

Here's a quick photo tutorial for the note card box that I shared on Friday the 26th of May.
First to make the base of the box  you need a piece of card measuring 24cm x 15.5cm. Score along the long side at 13cm and 16cm. Then score along the short side at 3cm and 12.5cm. As shown below
Next measure and Mark 5cm
In along the top and bottom edges and cut the corners up to the score lines as shown below.
Now snip up the cut lines at 13cm and 16cm up to the score lines on both sides. Then apply adhesive as shown in the photo below.

Then fold small panels up the sides as below
Now secure the longer panels to the sides to create the bottom of the box.
Now the lid in the original box I shared I used a fabulous foil designer acetate in this tutorial I've used card stock as it's easier to photo.

For the lid you need a piece of card or acetate that measures 15.5cm x 11cm.
Then score along the long side at 3cm and 12.5cm.  Then score along the short side at 6cm and 9cmand the cut along the solid lines as shown below

Apply adhesive oaks shown in the 2 pictures below.

Now attach the lid panel to the base by attaching the inside adhesive to the back of the base as below

Now fold the short pieces up to create the lid.
Then take apiece of card measuring 13cm d 9cm and cover back panel .I then decorated my box with pattern paper and punched Nd stamped the daisy embellishments. The scalloped edge to the lid was created using a Thinlits and extra card.
I hope this all makes sense if you have any questions please ask ☺

Tutorial - Double Z Card

Double Z Card

Cary posted some projects this week and we have had a request for a tutorial.
So here we go...
I'm not sure what the card fold is called but I call it my Double Z fold.
This first image is of one of the cards that our ladies made at our recent all day class.
I used Peekaboo Peach and Whisper White card stock and the DSP is from the
2016 - 2018 In color designer series paper.

I started by just playing about with a strip of Grid paper and got these folds.
A bit tatty I know but that's how I usually start with my folded cards.
Just using a scrap of paper!

This is the new version I made for the tutorial.

I started with a piece of  Emerald Envy card stock and cut it at 14.85 cm (just under 6 inches) by the full length of the card which is 29.7 cm. (8 and a half inches?)
I then scored along the long edge at, 10 cm. 16 cm. 22 cm. and 25.7 cm.

I then turned it so that the card was portrait to me and using a pencil marked
on the 10 cm score line 2.5 cm from the edge and again on the 22 cm line.

On the 22 cm score line I also marked at 5 cm from the edge and again at the end of the card at 5 cm.

I cut the excess off as shown. It doesn't matter if you work on the left or the right
of the card base, as long as all of the cutting is done on the one edge.

You can fold the card either way you like. Just as above and below.

Then measuring each of the panels, I matted a Whisper White mat on each if the facing panels.

I added some pieces of DSP from the Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper. Again they need to measured to your card just in case the measurements are slightly different.

Next, I decorated the rest of the card by die - cutting some of the flourish pieces from
the Flourish Thinlits. Some are in DSP and others in the card stock.
Yes, that is a fine strip of DSP on the left.
As all of our ladies know...
"It's your card, so decorate it as you like"

I finished off by adding some different messages on the card mats using the Sweet Cupcake stamp set.

I hope you like the tutorial. If you have any questions or difficulties, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Please also share pictures of your cards when you make them?
We would love to see how you get on with any of our projects.

Small but perfect...

Well here in West Sussex  the weather is beautiful fingers crossed it will last for the bank holiday weekend.  The sunshine sure makes the gold on these cards and the box sparkle. The box is holds 6 note cards and envelope and would make a lovely gift☺
Well I hope your  weekend starts bright and beautiful and stays that way ๐Ÿ˜‰ and I'll be back next week with more inspiration to share.
Have fun
Cary ☺
