Blending fun birthday card

Inspired by  Stampin' Up! In-Color's today's inspiration is a fun bright card showing how colour can be the key ingredient to your cards. Stampin' Up! In-Color's are a set of 5 unique colours that are always bang on trend. The 5 colours are released with every annual catalogue.. but...only around for 2 years ! At this moment in time we have the 2024-2026 In-Color's and the 2025-2027 In-Color's so a total of 10 additional colours to compliment  the core colours Stampin' Up!  have. They can be stand alone but they do work so well together as today's card shows 😉

The 2024-2026 In-Color's are ...

And the 2025-2027 ones are.....

Both sets work so well alone or mixed and matched together! And today's sample uses the colours in a mix and match fashion.

The background is created by masking off sections and blending inks into each space. The colours used are Timid Tiger,  Strawberry Slush and Petunia Pop.
Once the ink was applied a quick spritz and flick with water was applied to create the splodges.  Top tip dab the panel with clean and dry paper towel immediately so that the colour is lifted away and srips the inks running together.

The focal point of the card is the sentiment. The technique is called eclipse. Once the panel is completely dry carefully arrange the Alphabet a la mode dies to spell out the word you wish to cut out and run it through your cut and emboss machine. Making sure to keep the center of the letters. Now die cut 3 more of each letter in the same colour as your card base.
Next adhere the background panel to your card base. Adhere all 4 layers of each die cut letter together and insert them back into the background. Next carefully adhere the inside parts of the letters back into the panel. The extra layers to each letter gives the piece dimension and a subtle shadow to make them stand out.
The second part of the sentiment is created using the Mini Alphabet dies.

Florals in bloom triptych card

Today's inspiration is another version of the card I made during my Facebook live on Monday just gone. I'm calling this fun fold card  the triptych fold. I'll add the link to the video of how the card is made down below. The version I'm sharing here is made using the gorgeous Florals in Bloom pattern papers.

These beautiful papers feature the stunning 2025-2027 In-Color colours as well as some of the 2024-2026 In-Color ones too! The pretty florals are a part of the stunning Florals in bloom super suite which includes 2 different stamp sets with coordinating dies the gorgeous papers and the stunning 2025-2027 In-Color pearl embellishments!
Today's inspiration is made using the beautiful and oh soo useful secret sea and cloud cover colour palette with pops of petunia pop and pretty in pink.

This version of the card uses the largest 3 of the Everyday Arches dies and a strip of cardstock measuring 6cm x 29.7cm scored at 8.5cm in from each end. The outside panels will hang over the ends of the strip but will be secured. Top tip position your center panel first so that it sits evenly between the scorelines then adhere the outline side panels . ( watch the video below for more details)
I fussy cut and created floral focal points for the 2 out side panels but you can always use stamped images or other embellishments.

An extra white panel is placed on the reverse as the perfect place to write your personal message. But it doesn't have to be left blank! Fussy cutting the flowers from the edges of the paper is a great way to not be wasteful of this pretty paper!

The card folds flat and fits inside a standard C6 envelope which is very handy.

Here is the video showing how the card comes together.  This version is made using the adorable Turtle-y Cute pattern paper and the Everyday Arches dies as well. Have fun with this card and maybe think outside the box and use different shapes? But above all Have fun 😁

Rainbow Spinner card

Do you ever have internet issues? Well I sure did last Monday!  I host a weekly Facebook live over on my page . Boy did the Internet decide to play silly buggers with me! So I decided to make a short how to video on how the card is made. This is the final project.

Everyday arches stampin up fun fold rainbow spinner card

To create the card I have used the gorgeous 2025-2027 In-Color cardstock and inks. I also used my go to dies Everyday Arches for the appature, frame and the rainbow. The clouds dies are from a new bundle called Sunrise Sailing. The 2 stamp sets used are Pattern of Friendship, a new release set, and Happiest Day sadly one that is a last chance set so go check your market to see if it's still available 😉.

Of course with the spinner fold you need somewhere to write your personal message so I decorated a panel and placed it on the back of the card.

Thankful Garden faux tile card

What colour is you favourite for hydrangeas?  Mine is the white ones with a hint of lime green. But today's inspiration is a blue version. Why? Well I wanted to create a card using a fun technique called faux tile. This then led me to Delft pottery and tiles and oh boy are they beautiful 💙. Their distinctive blue and white colour palette just struck a cord with me and I just had to go blue! I  knew I wanted to use the beautiful Thankful Garden stamps and the amazing masks that make colouring so easy. The Delft style just seemed right even thought I wanted a less fussy look to my card.

Thankful Garden Stampin up faux tile card

Isn't this example of a 9 tile blue Delft floral piece panel just gorgeous 😍.

So with the stamps, tequniques and colours chosen here is my finished inspiration...

Thankful Garden Stampin up faux tile card

Faux tile can be done one of two ways. You can either score your cardstock then stamp on top so that the ink doesn't go into the dips or you can stamp on your cardstock and then cut it up into tiles and adhere onto another piece of cardstock to create the tiles effect.

The colour used was a beautiful shades of blue called blueberry bushel.  When using the masks from the Thankful Garden bundle I used just the one colour for the flower head. By layering the ink one on top of the other you create a beautiful tonal quality to the piece. With hind sight I wish I had coloured the leaves in blueberry bushel too but instead I went with green.
The spacing between each tile allows the crisp white to shine through.

Thankful Garden Stampin up faux tile card

To decorate the inside I stamped, coloured then die cut out 2 further flowers and layed them along the edge of the insert cutting and reusing them to cover the bottom edge.

Thankful Garden Stampin up faux tile card

The sentiments both inside and out are kept purposely simple to allow the tiles to shine.

I love the modern feel this card has with it's nod to the beautiful antique pottery of the past.   A perfect pairing don't you agree?

Thankful Garden clean and fresh thank you card

Do you ever make a card then are so happy with the front that you just don't want to add a sentiment ? Well that's what happened with today's card! Do you like hydrangeas?  I sure do... growing them on the other hand not so successful 😝 So as soon as I saw the gorgeous Thankful Garden bundle I just knew I'd have yo have it! This bundle is especially fun as it contains not only stamps and coordinating dies but masks to make colouring the flowers sooo easy! That being said today's card has been coloured using alcohol markers 😝

Thankful Garden Stampin up clean amd fresh thank you card

So today's inspiration is a clean and fresh design where the flower does all the talking.

Thankful Garden Stampin up clean amd fresh thank you card

It starts with a card base measuring 14.85cm x 21cm scored at 10.5cm.  Then I created and appature by using my trimmer and cutting a rectangle the center. This was achieved by measuring 2.5cm in from all 4 sides of the card front.
Next take a mat measuring 14.4cm x 10cm then using the fabulous Mini corrugated 3d embossing folder run it through your cut and emboss machine.  Then bring your trimmer back in and cut a rectangle from the center of this panel by cutting by measuring 2cm in from each side. Don't discard the rectangle you'll use it later.
Stamp, colour then die cut out the gorgeous hydrangea and die cut another in plain cardstock.  I've used thick basic white cardstock for all this card but you may wish to choose to use coloured.
Adhere the corrugated panel on the card front . Now take the rectangle that you saved and adhere it through the appature onto the inside of the card base.
Then carefully adhere the hydrangea at the points that it meets the frame. Adhere the plain die cut shape from the inside of the card to stabilise the hydrangea and the card front.

Thankful Garden Stampin up clean amd fresh thank you card

Now decorate the inside of the card . I stamped, coloured and fussy cut out some of the petals from the hydrangea as well as some of the small leaves that are also part of the stamp set.
The inside is where I chose to add my sentiment . Stamp the sentiment onto a small mat of cardstock and carefully position the petals  it so that they don't show from the front.

I love this clean and fresh card for someone many reasons not least because it's  so beautiful and stylish in it's simplicity. What do you think?
