In Colours - Lemon Lime Twist.

For my last post this week, I have been playing with the gorgeous
Lemon Lime Twist card stock.
I had so much fun I made 2 from 1 piece of A4 card.

For this one I used the New stamp set Free As A Bird stamp set and the lovely Gingham Gala Designer Series Papers. The papers are sadly retiring. :(

I die cut a panel in Lemon Lime Twist using the NEW Stitched Nested Labels
dies from Stampin' Up!  Then a smaller one in white which I stamped the birds on the branch.
I coloured this with Watercolour Pencils and an Aqua brush.

A smaller Nested label in LLT and one in Whisper White completes the front of this card.
I added the message inside with a strip of paper to complete it.

Below are the pictures of the other card that I made. This time I used the In colour DSP.
Again I used the new stamp set Free as a Bird.

Thank you for joining me again this week.
I hope that I've managed to inspire you to make a card or two.
Please pop by next week to see what amazing creations Cary has made.

In Colour - Day 4

Today I have used the beautiful Berry Burst and Whisper White card.
As most people know, I love monochromatic combinations.

I used the beautiful NEW stamp set called Good Morning Magnolia
which will be available to order from the 4th June. The end of this week.
Another card which is only half a sheet of A4 card which has been folded at
5.25 cm from each end of the card.

I used the Tufted Dynamic embossing folder for this one. I embossed both white mats from each side of the card after stamping the long image along the card.

I stamped the Large Magnolia (my favourite plant) and coloured it in using
Watercolour Pencils and an Aquabrush.

I finished off with the small magnolia and the simple message.

Colour - In Colour - Day 3

Hello. Today I am showing a card using the lovely Fresh Fig in the In Colour family.

This one Is half a sheet of A4 card folded at 6 cm.
Then I added a 10 by 10 cm panel with an embossed White panel.
I used the NEW Button Button embossing folding for this.

The images are from the Follow Your Art Suite. The stamp set is called It Starts With Art.
The stamp set is in the Stampin' Up! NEW catalogue on 4th June.

I used a piece of the DSP from the retiring IN Colours for the inside and the front flap.
I added a little sparkle using the Wink of Stella clear ink. It gives a gentle sparkle.

I finished off by adding some sequins from the NEW pack of
Woven Threads Sequin Assortment.

In Colours Powder Pink

Today's car is another quick and simple card again.

I stamped the rose from Healing Hugs onto Whisper White card then
cut it out with scissors (fussy cut).
For more information on the Healing Hugs stamp set, please click HERE.

I stamped some leaves onto Tranquil Tide card using the same colour ink pad and cut them out too.

I added a piece of the In Colour DSP, a strip of the pink card and a message,
punched out using the circle punches. 2" and 2 1/4" I added a little more of the Berry Burst
as it looks lovely with the pink.

Finshed off with a simple message and a few leaves.

Weekly Inspiration - Colour

Colour - In Colours

Welcome back. Didn't Cary do an amazing job with those cards last week?
She's absolutely correct in saying that I don't like getting messy!
YUK! I prefer to keep clean when I craft.
Anyway, today and the rest of the week I am supposed to be using 1 colour for the inspiration.
I couldn't decide once again so I'm using all of the retiring In Colours.

My fist one is Tranquil Tide. A very straightforward card.

A simple A framed card base with a Whisper White mat which I die cut the beautiful
flourish from.

I added a simple Happy Birthday to it using Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set.

Another message inside sums it all up for me.

Swirly frames..

Who doesn't love creating mess??
Gill for one 🤣🤣🤣!!! But I sure do and todays card is just one such mess creating project...well at least it is when I use spritzers!! I thought I'd  create my own "splattered " background.
First I stamped the circle frames in versamark, then heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Next came the fun part I took 3 spritzers and filled them with water and added drops of different coloured reinker into them. I have used pool part, rich razzleberry and daffodil delight.  I would suggest setting up a spray station,  a cardboard box works well, to contain the mess ( or not if your me 🤣🤣). Then I held the card and spritzed for directional effect.
As I was in a spritzing mood I decided to add a bit of shimmer to the piece. So pulled out my spritzer that has isopropyl alcohol mixed with frost white shimmer paint and spritzed away. Sadly the photo doesnt capture the true shimmer of the finished piece.
A strip of vellum with the sentiment stamped on and a few pearl white basic adhesive sequins finish the card without overwhelming the background.
Well that's it from me this week. Join me next week to see what creativity Gill will be sharing with us all.
Have a good weekend, a long bank holiday one here in the UK 😁, wherever you are.
Have fun
Cary xx

Swirly frames...

Where do you find inspiration?
Do you ever look at home decor and get inspired?
Well today's sample is inspired by the beautiful technique of collage hanging pictures. I think this simple idea would be great for a #simplestamping card. I have used 2 different ink colours and then heat embossed the ones that frame the sentiment. For a #simplestamping card I'd just use a third colour to highlight the sentiment.

Swirly frames..

The Swirly Frames stamp set not only contains frames. It also has various line stamps to help you make your own frames..or not as in the case of this card ! 🤣 I used the largest fram and stitched rectangle dies to create an aperture.  Then used one of the straight line stamps to creste the rainbow coloured focal point. I used the straight line stames to create a frame on the inside of my card because what we write in a card deserves to be framed too in my opinion 😊

Swirly Frames...

Frames are so useful they allow us to highlight a view and focus our attention . They can help us create interest in a simple way. All in all frames are good! But for many of us a set of stamps like the Swirly Frames set can be a little  daunting at first glance. So this week I thought I'd  share  some projects using the set.
Today's sample is using the frames in a simple way to frame an image but simple doesnt have to be boring ! I think the frames make the card look finished and highlight the images and sentiments. I hope you agree 😊

Larger Than Life Stampers....

Everyone who decides to sign up as a demonstrator under us becomes a part of the Larger Than Life Stampers team. We meet regularly to share ideas , swap inspiration and have fun! Yesterday afternoon was one of our team get togethers and we spent a fab 3 hours talking, laughing and of course stamping!!
Today's projects are the ones I recieved and created as well as the fab projects one of our team, the lovely Danielle Ehren, demonstrated and helped us create .  It was such fun 😃 . We also talked about the #sudifferencemakers idea that Sara Douglas,  ceo of Stampin Up, talked about at our last OnStage event. This is about how we can all make a difference to others and our community. One of the suggestions was to make a card with a positive affirmation message and send it to someone we appreciate, is in need of support, has achieved something etc. So we all created a simple card, one that was inspired by a make and take at OnStage , we provided envelopes and stamps. We then got everyone to write their card and address the envelopes and handed them back to us and we will pop them on the post box today!

Laser Cut Papers - Day 5

For my last card this week I am showing you a new product.
This is the Bird Ballad Laser Cut cards and envelopes and they come in a gorgeous box too!

Here are the beautiful card and envelopes with the beautifully decorated tin.

Here is the card that I made using them.

I used the new Free as A Bird stamp set which I stamped in Stazon ink, coloured in with my watercolour pencils and then fussy cut them with scissors.

I added a piece of the Perennial Essence Vellum in Pretty Pink to back onto the laser cut pattern.

I used Tombow multipurpose glue to fix the birds onto the card. I punched the front message out using the Story Label Punch and mounted it with Dimensionals.

A few flowers inside with the lovely message and the card is complete.
I do hope you've managed to get some inspiration from the cards this last 2 weeks.
Please don't hesitate to contact either of us if you have any questions.
Many thanks for popping by.
Gill :)
