In Colours - Lemon Lime Twist.

For my last post this week, I have been playing with the gorgeous
Lemon Lime Twist card stock.
I had so much fun I made 2 from 1 piece of A4 card.

For this one I used the New stamp set Free As A Bird stamp set and the lovely Gingham Gala Designer Series Papers. The papers are sadly retiring. :(

I die cut a panel in Lemon Lime Twist using the NEW Stitched Nested Labels
dies from Stampin' Up!  Then a smaller one in white which I stamped the birds on the branch.
I coloured this with Watercolour Pencils and an Aqua brush.

A smaller Nested label in LLT and one in Whisper White completes the front of this card.
I added the message inside with a strip of paper to complete it.

Below are the pictures of the other card that I made. This time I used the In colour DSP.
Again I used the new stamp set Free as a Bird.

Thank you for joining me again this week.
I hope that I've managed to inspire you to make a card or two.
Please pop by next week to see what amazing creations Cary has made.

Welcome back.
Hello, for my last day this week I will show you some more of the cards I
made for the Mini Water colouring Class we held this weekend.
I just love this one!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE red. So, I used a piece of Lovely Lipstick
for the card base and Basic Black card for the mat.
Using Blended Seasons stamp set, I stamped in Versamark onto the black
then poured Lovely Lipstick embossing powder over then heat set it. SO simple I promise!
The embossing powders come in a gorgeous range of the New In Colors.
If you would like to see them or more information on them follow the link at the bottom of this page.

The card above I love the simplicity of this one. Once again I stamped the leaves image in Versamark,
then poured Gold embossing powder over and heat set it. I coloured in using Cherry Cobbler,
Crushed Curry and Garden Green watercolour pencils 2.
Like the Blended Seasons, the Watercolor Pencils 2 are only available for the month of August 2018.

My last card to show you. Cherry Cobbler for the card base and Very Vanilla for the
Tufted Dynamic embossed mat. I coloured in with Cherry Cobbler and Granny Apple Green. Adding more of the Cherry Cobbler when it was dry. Yes, I fussy cut it out too.
If you like the Blended Seasons stamp set or the bundle, please click HERE for more information.
If you like the pencils, please click HERE for the information.
Thank you for stopping by this week. Cary will be back next week to show you her inspiration for you.
Thank you Gill xxx

Today, I am showing you some standard shape cards.
Cary and I held a mini Watercolor class on Saturday and we made samples
to show what can be achieved.

We used a New stamp set that is only available for the month of August 2018.
It's called Blended Seasons.
The first one I stamped with Garden Green Ink pad and colored in using the NEW set of
Watercolor Pencils 2. Which again are only available for this month.
They may however appear in a future Stampin' Up! Catalogue and Ideas Book.

I heat embossed this with Clear embossing powder then coloured in using the pencils.
I used Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green with a flash of
Daffodil Delight from the original set of pencils.

I'm sorry about this but Christmas will soon be here! Yes it has a Christmas in the set too!
This time I heat embossed in Black before colouring in. Adding a message, a bell from the set and the gorgeous bow.
Yes, there's a set of coordinating Framelits to go with it too if you're into die cutting!
If you like the stamp set too, please click the link HERE to take you to more information about
the stamp set.

Hello.

Today is Cary’s 21st birthday again!

 Happy Birthday Cary.

I've stopped counting mine! Fortunately, Cary hasn't reached that point yet!

Today I have made another fun folded card.
I like the effect that you can get from a different shaped card.

This one is called a Twisted Easel card. I often make the standard easel card
so I thought that I would have a change. I used Thick Whisper White for the card base,
a piece of Soft Sea Foam card for the insert and some paper
onto the front from the Tea Room DSP pack.

I used Accented Blooms for this one. The really pretty effect that this gives is gorgeous.
It does have a coordinating punch called the Tailored Tag Punch which can be bought seperately.

I did my relaxing fussy cutting bits again on the flowers and punched out the message
with the punch. I also fussy cut a Butterfly from one of the designer series papers from
the really lovely Tea Room DSP pack.

Once again, I stamped then punched out the message using the punch.
If you like this stamp set, please click HERE to get more information on it.
Thank you. Gill

Hello again,
 thank you for popping by.
This next one is another Gatefold card not unlike the card from yesterday but with no
die cutting anywhere.

This is another very simple straightforward one that has just 2 folds.
I used Thick Whisper White and Bermuda Bay card stock.

I cut a piece of standard White card and stamped the radio, stars and sun bursts
all over.
Then it was cut down to size to fit onto the Bermuda Bay mats.

I punched out the message on the front using the Everyday Label Punch.
The messages were then lightly caught onto each other to close the front of the card.
Opening up there is a Bermuda Bay mat and I've stamped onto both of the flaps.
The stamp set I used is Free Cake. A really great card for anyone older than yourself.
a lovely fun stamp set.
If you like this as I do click HERE for the details.

Weekly Inspiration

This week I am supposed to be showing you projects made with a particular colour.
I've changed my mind!
Cary and I have been very busy of late. We've held many classes and organised
several more events right into next year! 2019
Doesn't seem possible does it?
Anyway, here are some of the projects I have made to show you and hopefully
inspire you to make something your way.

Using Balmy Blue and Whisper White cardstock only I folded the card base into 3 and then
folded back the 2 end folds. I think it's called a gate fold, I'm not totally sure?
The stamp sets used on this were Around The Corner for the patterns on the corners and
Birthday Banners for the message and the balloons.

I have die cut 2 more thin pieces of card with the Delicate Lace Edgelits
dies and added them to the reverse of the side panels.
Now I know not everyone has a die cutting machine but this card can easily
be made without the pretty edges and look just as effective.

I then added a few small strips of Designer Series Paper to the sides and 2 smaller inside panels.

A simple panel on the front to show the event and a simple message inside to finish off.
If you like the Birthday Banners stamp set too, please click HERE for the full details.
If you like Around The Corner please click HERE for the details of this one.

Stitched All Around - Day 5

For my last card this week I went card and bling crazy!
When an old friend of mine and I get together (which sadly isn't very often)
we go into our totally silly mode for a while!
Don't You Know, Darling!!

Kate and I have been friends since Secondary school.
When she arrived into my life everything changed!
She was tough, considerate, kind and very protective.

I used Petal Pink and Merry Merlot card stock and Ink Pads but at the end
I dismantled parts of it and added Whisper White mats under some of the Pink.

It seems to looks better and the colours POP more with the white under it.

I embossed the large front pink mat using Scattered Sequins embossing folder
and inside I used the NEW, Subtle embossing folder.

The papers on this are from the Garden Impressions DSP.
I bought it to challenge me and since then I have used SOOOOOO much
of the papers I'm nearly out!
Love them!

Thankfully, Kate isn't into crafting which is an added bonus as this is her
birthday card for next month!

I know she'll have a good giggle!
Well, that's it from me for the week. I hope I have given you some inspiration
and that you too can challenge yourself to make something that inspires you too.
Thank you, Gill

Stitched All Around - Day 4

Hello. Today I have made another very simple card.
A little embossed imaged on the front and the coloured accents
above.

As I said, a very straightforward, simple card but I think sometimes all that is
needed is simplicity.
I used Whisper White of course and the lovely NEW In Color Grapefruit Grove.

I stamped the images saying THANK YOU with the Grapefruit Grove too
and then punched each one using the 1 3/8 " Scallop Circle Punch.

I'm really pleased with this one as this is the kind of card I love to receive too.

Understated, simple and lovely.
I hope you think so too.

Stitched All Around - Day 3

Today's card I used the Delightfully Detailed Die-Cut papers again.
Only this time, I've used a dauber and inked through the die cut.

Just straight lines for this one and a lovely message for the front panel.
I love the way that the inked pattern looks. It looks almost perfect!

I raised the top patterned mat on this one and the message mat too.

I love shadows on cards, I think they look great.

Just the simple Best Wishes and a few strips of leaves to finish this one off.

Stitched All Around - Day 2

Today's card is a very simple, repeated stamping card.

I used Granny Apple Green Ink and Cardstock then Gorgeous Grape Ink for the stamping.

I mounted the front panel this time to add some extra dimension.
Then added a strip of Textured Weave knotted ribbon, which is also Granny Apple Green.

Yes, it also has Framelits to coordinate with the stamps too.
Isn't that frame lovely?

A simple message to complete this one to finish off.

Weekly Inspiration - Stitched All Around

Stitched All Around

Firstly, I must say a very big thank you to the lovely Emma and Lindsey for their
Stamparatus cards and comments.
Brilliant job ladies, well done.
Thank you too to Cary for the last 2 weeks of beautiful projects.
This stamp Stitched All Around set is new to the Catalogue and I've bought it to challenge myself.

This first card is a very plain but I think quite elegant one. I have used the Delightfully Detailed Die-Cut sheets as the background.
I love the way that one side is white and the other cream.

I stayed with a very clean palette with just a touch of colour. Using Whisper White card stock and Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad.

Isn't that a gorgeous colour? I love it!
I stamped all of the words onto the card at first but it was too flat.
So I stamped them again and punched them out using the 3/4 " circle and
1 1/4 " Scallop Circle punches.

I carefully inked only the You are Fabulous instead of the whole phrase.
A very simple card.

DSP - Day 5

My last project this week is special for me.
Last year I had the immense pleasure of watching a very
dear friend Julie and her fiance' Russell getting married for the 1st time.
They had a beautiful blessing in Spain the following week and this is from there.

I placed the photo onto a sheet of DSP from the Tranquil Textures papers.
Then just fussy cut several flowers and leaves from another sheet.

I've had the picture in the frame for a while now but wasn't happy enough with it.

Now I am.
Julie and Russell 9th September 2017
I love you both. xxx
