Beautiful Blues kit mini album

 Today's inspiration is a little different it's not a card but it's created using the Beautiful Blues kit from Stampin' Up! This stunning kit contains everything you need to make 9 beautiful cards.

And  when I say it contains everything I mean everything!  Cards and envelopes, die cuts, embellishments, stamps, ink spots, acrylic block and adhesives! The lot!

It's a  wow on so many levels 😀. Perfect for all abilities, new and seasoned crafters, those who want a quick card, crafting on the go, a way to get over the dreaded crafters slump and loss of mojo... the list goes on! 

Now I know some people might find kits stifling, they want to step out side the box and let their creativity fly... But I'm here to say kits can be the base for some amazing flights of crafty fun! Just look at today's inspiration! 

Using the contents of this kit, and a few other basic supply's, I have created a double page 12 x 12 scrapbook layout, ( you can see it here) ,have enough left to decorate a photo frame ( watch out for more about that later this week) and this amazing mini album! Proving that even scrapbooking enthusiasts shouldn't dismiss a card kit!

And here is today's inspiration.  I created a fun mini album using just cards and envelopes from the kit.

Traditions of Christmas fun fold Christmas card

 Do you ever find yourself in the predicament of having beautiful pattern papers but not knowing what to do with them? Me too! And this paper is one such paper! Called Traditions of Christmas this stunning floral Christmas paper in rich colours of reds, greens and gold has gorgeous splashes of blues and pinks that take it to the next level 😍

Well last week for one of my regular online classes we used these gorgeous papers so I had to cut into them 😱 and boy was it hard! But I persevered and created inspiration for the class attendees to encourage them to use this beautiful paper. Once I got started I couldn't stop creating with this beautiful paper so I have another project to share with you all today!

The papers are part of the larger Traditions of Christmas suite collection.  This collection includes 2 stamp sets and coordinating dies, ribbon, embellishments and a 3d embossing folder. For today's inspiration I've used one of the stamps and coordinating dies called Traditional Labels.  The stamps have lots of ways to combine parts to create your own sentiment as well as the usual ones.

The dies are such useful shapes and sizes that will be great for all year round crafting! 

So let's get into the card I'm sharing with you today!  I'm calling this fun fold a stepped concertina card. It probably has a better name but I don't have it 😝 but if you do please leave a comment and let me know your suggestions! 

The card starts with a piece of cardstock measuring 14.85cm x 28.5cm scored at 3cm, 6cm, 12cm and 18cm.  ( 4½" x 11" scored at 1", 2", 3¾", and 5½")

Then mark down 4cm (1½") at the 6cm (2") scoreline. Then mark 2cm (¾") down at the 18cm (5½) scoreline. Now cut down these scorelines to the marks and across to the left-hand side and remove these piece as shown below. This creates the stepped look to the card.

And here it is looking from above . You can see how the concertina folds are folded.

Decorate as desired but don't panic if you're thinking where shall I write my message 🤔 Turn the card over and decorate with a white panel and voilà a lovely space to write that heartfelt message of Christmas cheer.

I have also utilised the edge images from the paper to fussy cut out a corner decoration waste not want not after all 😉

The florals are all fussy cut from the pattern paper on this card but of course you can decorate as you wish after all it's your card!

Thoughtful Journey see-through element Christmas card

 Last weekend I shared a fun see-through crad and this week on my Facebook live I recreated the card but changed it from an autumnal one to a wintery Christmas one. For this version I've used the fabulous Thoughtful Journey  pattern papers and the colour palette of lilac and navy. 

The other products used are the stunning Peaceful Garden glimmer paper with its gorgeous no-shed finish. The dies are from the amazing Snowy Delight dies and the oh so versatile Branching Out dies. 

The sentiment is from the gorgeous Snowflake Kisses stamps

Amber Autumn see through card

 An elegant card today with a wow see through panel. The card features to stunning Amber Autumn stamps and coordinating dies. The wonderful intricate cover plate die is just gorgeous 😍 

With a rich and elegant neutral and gold colour palette this card uses the beautiful Seasons of Elegance speciality double-sided pattern paper. The papers have gold foil details which lives up to the elegance in its name for sure!

As I wanted to keep the colour palette neutral I chose to use the basic beige papers for today's inspiration.  The othe neutral colour used in the project is the rich and deep brown called early espresso. All combined with the beauty of gold foil.

The see through panel goes through the front and back! This creates an unusual element to the card. I created  the appature then added a piece of gold foil that had been die cut using the beautiful leaf pattern cover plate die. I then added a frame over top to seal it in and create a neat finish.

For the inside of the card I added a piece of acetate over the appature  to give stability to the card. I then cut a panel with an appature in the same place to enclose the acetate and create a clean and neat finish. 

Being able to see all the way through the card definitely adds that little something extra to this project don't you agree?

Autumn Toile suite simple stepper fun fold card

 Hi 👋  how you doing?  Cary here from Cary's Creative Table.  I thought I'd share a little about myself before getting into the project I'm sharing today. I've been a Stampin' Up!  Demonstrator for over 5 years. I live in a large town in West Sussex in England,  30 miles south of London. I live with my partner,  Andrea, and my son Ethan. My daughter , son-in-law and grandson live on the south coast near Brighton. I've crafted all my life in one shape or another. I'm passionate about creativity ! I believe that we all have a need to create be it a cake, a card, a brick wall or build an engine. when I'm not crafting or playing with my grandson you'll find me reading, preferably in the garden with a cup of mint infusion. I love to share my passion for crafting both in person, here and online. As a child I wanted to be a teacher and I'm blessed to say that I now teach the best subject in the world.. crafting 😝

This card is made using products from the amazing Autumn Toile suite. This suite has 2 stamp sets with coordinating dies, beautifully double-sided pattern paper,  trim and embellishments..phew it's a big one!

The card starts as a piece of cardstock measuring 10.5cm x 29cm scored at 7cm, 14cm,19cm, 24cm and 26.5cm ( 4 ½" x 11" scored at 2½",  5",  7",  9" and 10"). To see how this all works please watch the video at the bottom of this post 😊.

The card folds flat for postage which is always useful.

Autumn Toile fun fold thank you card

 Sorry it's late but here it is...A quick post today to share the card I created during my last Facebook Live at 5! The card features products from a wonderful suite of products called Autumn toile suite. This suite collection contains 2 stamp sets and coordinating dies, pattern papers, trim and embellishments.

The card starts with a piece of cardstock measuring 14.85cm x 21cm scored at 4cm and 10.30cm. ( 8 ½" x 5½" scored at 1½" and 4¼").

The card is a great one to show off both sides of the beautiful double sided paper in the suite, or any from your stash 😉.

The card folds flat for postage and stands beautifully so all in all a great fun fold.

Peaceful Garden birthday card

 A fun fold and a fun technique in today's inspiration!  Not sure what the fold is called but it's kind of a concertina angled pocket card 🤭 . The technique I do know is called paper piecing! It's a great way to add colour without colouring in! But as with most cards it starts with an idea and then develops. For this card it started with the fun fold and the desire to use some more of the beautiful Peaceful Garden pattern papers.  So without further ado here is the card.. 

It starts with a piece of cardstock measuring 14.85cm x 27cm (5½" x 11"). It's then scored at 10.5cm, 14.5cm and 16.5cm ( 4¼", 5½" and 6¾") . Fold the scorelines as a concertina starting with a valley fold. 

Next cut diagonally from the top left of the card front to the bottom right. Make sure to save the piece you've cut off as this become the pocket on the inside of your card. Cut a piece of pattern paper measuring 14.4cm x 10cm (5¼" x 4") for the front and cut diagonally top left to bottom right. This is the paper for the card front and pocket. 

Cut another piece of pattern paper 14.4cm x 10cm (5¼" x 4") for the inside back. Along with 2 pieces measuring 2 5cm x 14.4cm ( 1" x 5¼") for thr concertina folds. Pattern choices are important don't you agree? Sometimes coordinating is good other times contrasting is the way to go... but always remember it's your card so go with what makes you happy!

I have used the oh so useful Everyday Arches dies to create tags to decorate the card. I decorated the tags with the stunning 

Peaceful Garden glimmer paper in the dark grey shade. I used the Charming Day stamps to add a floral touch to the project. 

To add splashes of colour to the stamped images I used the paper piecing technique.  

This is where you stamp your image then restamp it onto pieces of pattern paper and cut the image out, fussy cutting along the stamped lines. Top tip take a marker pen the same colour as the ink you stamped in. Then once you've fussy cut the image out run the marker around the cut edges from behind. This is so that the white core of the paper doesn't peek out.

Adhere the fussy cut pieces onto the stamped image in the appropriate area. This adds a fabulous touch and splash of colour to any project. 

The second tag is adhered with 3d foam to the front of the pocket. The pocket is created by using the cardstock cut from the card front and decorated with the off cut from the pattern paper from the front.  Adhering 2 sides of the triangle to the bottom left-hand corner of the back inside panel. Top tip only use a very narrow line of adhesive, be it wet glue or double sided tape or tape runner, to adhere the packet upto but not over the scoreline. 

The simple tag is where you would write your personal message and this hides in the pocket at the back. Of course it had to have a little decoration too 🤭.

 

Once completed the card folds neatly together and fits in a standard C6 envelope (medium). If you're careful and don't use to much 3d foam or embellishments the card isn't too bulky to post, always a bonus!
