Christmas - Day 3

Hello again, thank you for joining us.

Here are some more of the sample cards that I made for our first Christmas class for this year.

Cary and I used the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set and coordination Thinlits as well as the lovely 

Silver Foiled edged cards and envelopes.

The card above was for me a triumph! I don't do 'messy' cards normally but I fancied having a go!

Using Balmy Bluem Pacific Point and Night of Navy Ink Pads, I sponged the colours all over the White mat and go the lovely ombre effect.

Using snowflakes which had been diecut from the Blizzard Thinlits, I added them with a little Tombow glue to each and added the simple Season's Greetings to finish. 

Another simple one this time I die cut out the letters NOEL using the Large Letter Thinlits. 

Once again I embossed using the Curls and Swirls Embossing Folder, this time using Coastal Cabana.

I fixed that onto a piece of DSP from the Santa's Workshop using Dimensionals.

I finished off by adding a few snowflakes from the Foiled diecut card earlier. 

A few Rhinestones and finished.

Once again the DSP was fixed onto the card base but I decided that it was missing something.

So I heat embossed the Christmas Tree in White and die cut it out.

I wasn't necessary to die cut it but I was feeling lazy!

This time I used the words from the lovely Spirited Snowmen stamp set.

Masking - Day 5

 Today I've gone festive!

Cary and I held our Christmas all day classes over the last 2 weekends so I thought 

I should get started.

I used the Christmas Sweaters stamp set for this fun card.

6 Different jumpers all stamped several times over the Whisper White mat/

I coloured some of them in using ink from the ink pad and a water brush.

I added a piece of the Silver Tinsel Trim and a Rhinestone on one of the jumpers.

You can see the post it cut outs that I used and how they were placed over the stamped image.

The Whisper White mat was mounted onto Real Red cardstock using then stuck onto the card

base using Dimensionals.

The message inside was from  Snowflake Sentiments stamp set which we used for our all day 

Christmas classes.

Spritzing - Day 5

For the last 2 cards I mad with the Spritzing technique I've gone Christmassy!

It's not long now.

Card 1

This time I used Versamark and Clear embossing powder to stamp the stars over the card mat.

Once heated and cold, I spritzed the mat with Night of Navy

 (again 5 using drops of re-inker in water)

I used Be Jolly By Golly stamp set for the stars and messages.

Once again I stamped the message in Versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Once cold, I spritzed the white card with the Night of Navy solution.

I die cut the large star from the Starlight Thinlets Dies in some scraps of the patterned 

card that I had left over. 

  

Card 2

This last card I have used Bermuda Bay and Whisper White cardstock and spritzed the white mat

with several layers of Pool Party re-inker added to water.

 

I graduated the layers that I sprayed, making the stronger colour at the top of the mat.

I die cut the Sleigh from Silver Foiled card and the fancy layer of the sleigh from Silver Glimmer Paper.

Merry is from Christmas Greetings Thinlets and was die cut in Silver Foiled card.

The little stars were made using the Stars Confetti Border Punch in Silver Glimmer Paper.

Spritzing - Day 4

Another summery day card. I'm trying to convince myself it's not cold!

The Spritzers were 3/4 filled with water and about 5 drops of each colour reinker.
The colours used this time were Night of Navy, Pool Party and Daffodil Delight.

This time, I have used 3 of the spritzers that I had left over. I don't like to waste good things.

I used the Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Papers. They have an embossed print on them which

resists ink. The design I used is sheet of  floral.

I sprayed each of the 3 colours randomly over the paper and patted the ink off the resist image.  

Using Bold Butterflies Framelits Dies I die cut them in White and in Vellum cardstock.

Gave them a little curl and added the Enamel Shapes from the Subtles range.

I used Designer Tin of cards for the messages and Whisper White and Pool Party cardstock.

I used 2 of  the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies for the message on the front.

Spritzing - Day 3

Today's card is a summery one.

I know it's cold outside but I can dream can't I?

   

This time I used the Seasonal Decorative Masks and Spritzed in a few different colours before moving

to a different position and spritzing again.

I used a larger piece than I needed and stamped the bloom from Birthday Blooms

in Melon Mambo ink. Then fussy cut the flower only.

The green was a left over piece from yesterday's blog post. I stamped the leaves from the flower 

and added them behind the flower.

I added some Rhinestones and the simple message from the same stamp set.

 Spritzing

Day 2.

Today, I used Pear Pizazz as my base colour.

This time I added 3 or 4 drops of re-inker to some water in the spritzer and 

sprayed it onto some plain Whisper White card scraps.

That's the reason that we NEVER throw bits and pieces away!!!

The lower mat was made by adding 2 to 3 drops of Calypso Coral re-inker. 

This time only a few sprays over the card scraps to leave some of the white card 

on show.

I embossed the card base with Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I used Sunshine Sayings stamp set with Pear Pizazz Ink pad.

  

Looking closer at the mats you can just see the slight irregularity where I spritzed

more in some area than the others.

  

A plain white mat inside with the simple Love & Hugs.

Weekly Inspiration - Spritzing

Spritzing is one of the easiest way to decorate a background 

on a card or on a scrap to punched out of.

The effect is amazing, where no 2 projects will ever be the same.

   

My first sample this week I have used Melon Mambo and Whisper White

 with the top mats in Watercolour Paper.

   

I used Sheltering Tree for the hearts. Stamped only once onto Watercolour Paper in Melon Mambo

 and spritzed very lightly to make the pink ink spread just a little to soften the spots.

Then I punched out 3 hearts using the lovely Sweetheart Punch.

   

A length of Silver Metallic Thread bunched up behind the top heart and stuck down by the Dimensionals.

   

I ended by adding Rhinestones and a simple message on the front which was very lightly spritzed 

and another message inside the card.

Pumpkin Pie Day 3

Today, I was trying to make a Halloween birthday card as it's my brother in laws

 birthday on 31st October. I failed! 

Sort of!

 

 I started by using a piece of the Spiders Web DSP from the  Halloween Night Speciality DSP's.

It has a silver web and looks amazing but the original card was just NOT right. 

So, I tore it to pieces and started again!.

I started by adding some ribbons. I used Peekaboo Peach and then added a piece of washi tape

from the Playful Palette Designer range. 

The first mat, I stamped Happy Birthday from Tin of Cards stamp set, 

all over then added the simple message mats over.

I finished off by adding some Rhinestones.

I think he will appreciate this one!

Tutorial Curvy Keepsake Box

  

Curvy Keepsake Box Characters 

MINIONS  

 

 Curvy Keepsake Box Framelet Dies.(135853)

 

Stampin' Up! designed these amazing Thinlets Dies and as you can see they are VERY versatile.

  

  

Cut 2 for each box out of cardstock. In this case I used Daffodil Delight.

Using tape, I glued them together like this below.

The curved handles should be opposite each other and the handle slots opposite each other too.

 I used Fringe Scissors and Basic Black cards for the hair pieces. 

Circle punches from 1/8" to 1" to make the shapes below.

The dungarees were made by cutting and shaping a piece of card

 around one of the box sides, curling slightly to curl along with box. 

The G for Gru was made by punching a 1/2" circle out of card and 

cutting a square around the circle.

A snip to form the gap in the G. 

I punched a 3/4" black circle to lay behind it. 

 I used Marina Mist for the dungarees, pocket and G.

Smoky Slate for the goggles.

A small circle cut out of card and a larger one was cut around that hole.

The mouth was a 1" circle out of card and overlapping that hole with the same punch, I punched around that hole and a mouth was cut from Basic Black card.

 The eyes are from a 1/2" punch with a 1/8" black circle for the pupil.

OLAF

  

Olaf was made using circles, ovals and the Tree Builder punches.

The hair was using Fringe Scissors and his arms are with the 

Tree Builder punch which you can see below.

  

  

The mouth is a 1" circle in Basic Black with a white tongue made with a 

1" circle and slightly trimmed at the sides. 

His nose was made with an oval punch in Whisper White and the Carrot 

was with an old Stampin' Up! triangle punch.

It can be made easily, using a scallop punch or framelet to give the curly edge.

The eyes were 1/2" Soft Sky and Whisper White circles, with 1/4" black pupils.

 The Tree Builder punch (138295) and Trimming Scissors (133325) below.

PEPPA PIG

Peppa was made the same way as before but this time using Melon Mambo for the box.

Blushing Bride for the cheeks and nose and Daffodil Delight for the crown.

 

I use Melon Mambo tiny circles for the nostrils and the mouth too.

The crown was made using the Flower Medallion punch (137417). 

One flower is cut into 2 across the petals, then glued at the edges so that

 it will sit over the handles of the Curvy Keepsake Box.

 

The simplicity of the decoration and the crown only glued at the edges on show.

SUPERMAN

Superman is another easy shape to make. 

Pacific Point was used for the box.

I used a piece of Real Red card measuring 6 cm by 7 cm which I trimmed 

at the top edges to make it look more like a cape. 

The shape on the front was made around the size of the star that I used.

The Daffodil Delight star was laid onto Real Red and cut around.

Then placed on a piece of Daffodil Delight and the shape was formed.

I continued in this way until I got the size that I wanted.

Adding the cape to the back of the box finishes this one.
