Punch Art

Once again, the Minions have taken over!

These cards have been so popular and lots of the younger people 

coming to classes love to make them. 

Once again, this has used several different sized Circle punches.

Put with the Curvy Keepsake boxes, they make brilliant gift boxes and a greetings card too.

Baby Wipe Technique Day 4

Today's card is a blend using Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip.

Honestly, I don't do a lot with the neutrals colours but for some reason today I wanted to!

That WILL surprise Cary!

The added bonus with using baby wipes is that if they are stored in an airtight box or bag, they could stay wet for months!

 

Anyway, back to baby wipes...

For this one I've stamped the large flower from Birthday Blooms using the colours in the baby wipes. Then, stamped it again and heat embossed in white embossing powder. 

Coloured in using Blender Pens with Pear Pizazz and Blushing Bride

I rather like the faded effect of the stamped images over the background.

Weekly Inspiration, Sprinkles of Life

      I realised that I hadn't made one of the more popular images using the stamp set, so here it is. 

I would never be able to go out and order that many scoops of ice cream but it is so nice to dream!

The ice cream was made using the cloud image, stamped and punched using the Tree Builder punch. The cone was stamped onto So Saffron using So Saffron ink. 

The sprinkles were added using the stamp, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo and So Saffron ink pads.

The Dsp is from It's My Party and the patterns I chose remind me of the images 

I've seen of a 1950's cafe. Even down to adding half of a doily as a napkin.  

The handle of the spoon is made with a small strip of a Silver Foil Sheet.

Fun to do and I hope you've got some ideas and inspiration for other projects.

Weekly Inspiration, Sprinkles of LIfe

My future grandchildren were here today and we played with Zoo Babies which inspired me for today's card. 

                         They helped too! They wanted to put ALL of the animals on the card.                                      Have you ever tried teaching a 7 and 4 year old about less is more? WOW! 

Not the easiest thing to do, I can assure you!

The message, trees and leaves were stamped and punched with Sprinkles of Life

 and the Tree Builder Punch.

The children stamped the animals while I sponged some ink over the So Saffron to give some shading and texture.               

I am pleased to say that Jayden, the 7 year old, knew what it was!

Weekly Inspiration, Sprinkles Of Life

      Today's project was this double fold card as I've just finished making my son and future daughter in laws wedding invitations. Their's have slightly more folds but after making so many I was still in the mood for more folds!

Very easy to do, measure 5.25 cm in from each end of a half sheet of A4

Again, I used the It's My Party DSP, which I absolutely love. This time I stamped and punched the few clouds and basket. Fixed again using the Silver Metallic Thread. I also duplicated the same on the reverse to lose the ends of thread.

The message was made using the Alphabet Rotary Stamp which is perfect for adding your own personal message. You'll never be without it once you've tried it.

The message and the three little birds were stamped, punched and stuck with Dimensionals 

and hold the card closed.

Weekly Inspiration, Sprinkles of Life

Sprinkles of Life

For today's project I was inspired by a friend who is about to give birth to a little girl.

Adding a few layers of DSP from the It's My Party range and a message from                                                                                         Made With Love stamp set                                                           Matting and Layering again, as I love the effect it gives to a simple flat card. 

This time I stamped and punched the cloud then punched out the tree and cloud shape in DSP.

The 'baby blanket' is supported by Silver Metallic Thread.

Weekly Inspiration

Daffodil Delight and Botanicals For You.

This is the last card from me for this week. Rather more fiddly than the rest of this week's projects but I rather like this one.

Again a *C6 card base but this time it was cut across the wider part of the A4 cardstock

 and again folded in half.

 In addition, I have used the Botanical Builder Framelets Die.

Using 2 mats (1 Basic Black and 1 Whisper White), I die-cut the flowers 

and leaves then paper pieced them together as you see. 

The larger flowers have a double cut in them which you allows you to seperate the petals.

*A C6 folded card base this way again measures 10.5 cm by 14.85 cm   

 but the unfolded measures 14.85 cm by  21 cm.

Did you like my Dragon card from yesterday? 

Absolutely AMAZING! I love it. 

Anyway, this weeks inspiration (apart from yesterday) is Stampin' Up! Brights range of colours

Daffodil Delight and Botanicals For You stamp set.

This one is a very simple card using a Whisper White mat onto a Basic Black mat with a Daffodil Delight cardbase.

I stamped a sheet of white card randomly with the flowers and leaves and just added 2 messages to complete.

Weekly Inspiration

Today's Inspiration is using the Party With Cake, Stampin' Up! range.

The range or family includes Designer Series Paper (DSP), 2 Stamp Sets, Framelets, Embossing Folder, Party Punch Pack, Washi Tape, Enamel Dots and even co-ordinating Baker's Twine.

IT IS BRILLIANT!

For this card, I used the DSP and Framelets.  

I could have gone on and used more 

but enough is enough. 

The framelets are the PARTY POP-UP thinlets dies and they do just that. 

It has another die too which is a cake and candles but the cake reads HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

It is my birthday today and Cary and I went to our team training yesterday. 

We always make swaps to give to others in our team, so I thought that I would make myself this pretty birthday card. 

Well I think it's pretty, I hope you do.

I also used Happy Hearts embossing folder and the Confetti Heart Border Punch which I used some of the hearts from previous projects to fill in with silver Glimmer Paper.

We crafter's NEVER throw things away, do we?

 I hope you like today's project and that it can give you some inspiration.

Inspiration - Masking

Today's card I die-cut the butterfly from Butterflies Thinlits out of cardstock. 

I stuck the outer piece from the die-cutting over the white mat. As it is a smaller area, 

I used Daubers to add layers of purples. 

I added the die-cut butterfly back into the aperture on the cardstock and using Blackberry Bliss and the daubers, coloured through the butterfly.

 Adding a few Rhinestones and a message from the World of Dreams stamp set. 

I used the Triple Corner Punch on the corners of each layer.

This was matted onto Blackberry Bliss cardstock.

Inspiration - Masking

Masking Technique

Today's card is using Celebrate Today stamp set.  

Using up to 3 masks of the balloons, I stamped balloons all over the card and mounted some more balloons over.

 It was a very simple card and easy to do.

This was one of the first stamp sets that I fell in love with in the Stampin' Up! Saleabration leaflet.

A perfect set for masculine cards and projects, I first thought.

However, over the next few days I hope to show you where I proved myseld wrong!

For the first card I have used the Sunburst Thinlets Die.The paper is from the Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack.(140581) This 6" x 6" pack has the most interesting designs. Acual road maps,     the constellation etc. Take a look in the ideas book and catalogue of look online, 

they are really amazing.

September's All Day Class Part 1

19th September All Day Class in Horsham

This was an amazing day where everyone had a great time making many lovely Christmas cards and winning lovely goodies in the raffle. This is of course in addition to the the wonderful goodie bag thqat everyone gets to take away with them!

Unfortunately, everyone was unable to complete the whole class on the day 

so we are having a catch up class another time very soon. 

Everyone received Flurry of Wishes Bundle 140868 which is the stamp set and matching punch.

Horsham Class

17th September 2015

We have changed venues for our monthly Thursday evening class to Horhsam. There was nothing at all wrong with the lovely Parish Room in Warnham, just time for a move nearer to home.

This month we made Pop Up cards.

Christmas Cuties 139787 and Santa's Gifts 138808 were the stamp sets used for these cute cards.

School Holiday Classes

Summer, School Holiday classes at the Craft Den.

19th August - No class this week as Cary was preparing 

for her half century birthday party.

 Wow! It was good!

26th August - Superhero day

 Spiderman and Superman.

Fortunately, the children knew who they were depicting!

 

The next 2 cards were made using a stamp set not here in the UK 

called Calling All Heroes which we managed to borrow.

4th August Bokeh Variations

Burgess Hill Class

Bokeh Variations 
These were done by spraying water over the card front and then randomly dripping ink over it using ink refils.
Once you have dripped the colours you like, gently pat it dry with paper towels.
 Leave it to dry for a few minutes or help it along gently with a heat gun.  Don't use the heat gun too hot as you may scorch the card.
Using small through to large circle punches, punch one of each sized circle out of a piece of acetate. 
 Once your mat is dry, lay the acetate over and sponge Whisper White ink into the circles, the larger the circle, the softer the effect.
Continue to lift and move the acetate all over the mat until you are happy with the result.
As you can see by the cards the ladies made, the small circles stand out more and
the larger ones tone the base colours down.
Add some White Perfect Accemts or Rhinestones to add a little sparkle.
No two mats will be the same, as you can see.

Wednesday Class at The Craft Den

Wednesday 27th May

This week was half term so as we do every school holiday we made projects for the children. 

Minions of course is flavour of the year. 

We made cards, pencil pots, sweetie bags (curvy keepsake boxes) and page markers.

 We were rushed off our feet as usual (well, Cary was! Gill was in her chair) and the children loved making them too. We did have great fun. 

The added bonus... they got to take a packet of sweets home with them too!
