Weekly Inspiration, Sprinkles of Life

      I realised that I hadn't made one of the more popular images using the stamp set, so here it is. 

I would never be able to go out and order that many scoops of ice cream but it is so nice to dream!

The ice cream was made using the cloud image, stamped and punched using the Tree Builder punch. The cone was stamped onto So Saffron using So Saffron ink. 

The sprinkles were added using the stamp, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo and So Saffron ink pads.

The Dsp is from It's My Party and the patterns I chose remind me of the images 

I've seen of a 1950's cafe. Even down to adding half of a doily as a napkin.  

The handle of the spoon is made with a small strip of a Silver Foil Sheet.

Fun to do and I hope you've got some ideas and inspiration for other projects.

Weekly Inspiration, Sprinkles of LIfe

My future grandchildren were here today and we played with Zoo Babies which inspired me for today's card. 

                         They helped too! They wanted to put ALL of the animals on the card.                                      Have you ever tried teaching a 7 and 4 year old about less is more? WOW! 

Not the easiest thing to do, I can assure you!

The message, trees and leaves were stamped and punched with Sprinkles of Life

 and the Tree Builder Punch.

The children stamped the animals while I sponged some ink over the So Saffron to give some shading and texture.               

I am pleased to say that Jayden, the 7 year old, knew what it was!         

        

 

The sun is from Kinda Eclectic.

Weekly Inspiration, Sprinkles Of Life

      Today's project was this double fold card as I've just finished making my son and future daughter in laws wedding invitations. Their's have slightly more folds but after making so many I was still in the mood for more folds!

Very easy to do, measure 5.25 cm in from each end of a half sheet of A4

Again, I used the It's My Party DSP, which I absolutely love. This time I stamped and punched the few clouds and basket. Fixed again using the Silver Metallic Thread. I also duplicated the same on the reverse to lose the ends of thread.

The message was made using the Alphabet Rotary Stamp which is perfect for adding your own personal message. You'll never be without it once you've tried it.

The message and the three little birds were stamped, punched and stuck with Dimensionals 

and hold the card closed.

Sprinkles of Life

For today's project I was inspired by a friend who is about to give birth to a little girl.

Adding a few layers of DSP from the It's My Party range and a message from                                                                                         Made With Love stamp set                                                           Matting and Layering again, as I love the effect it gives to a simple flat card. 

This time I stamped and punched the cloud then punched out the tree and cloud shape in DSP.

The 'baby blanket' is supported by Silver Metallic Thread.

Join Gill and Cary for a day filled with crafting goodness and laughter.
The classes are all designed by Cary and Gill and all materials are included in the cost. 

 Cost £45 or £68.80 for a Stampin' Up! 'Bundle'.  

 

What you get:

You will receive a goody bag filled with Stampin' Up! 

products to the value of at least £40

           The cost will include all of the materials that you will need to complete the days projects. 

The £45 will include a stamp set plus all other products.

The £68.80 will include the stamps and the matching framelits 

plus all the other product to complete the classes.

Requirements:

All you will need to bring with you is a basic tool kit, if you have one.

Trimmer/guillotine plus tapes, glues, tools etc.

If you don't have a tool kit, please don't worry as we may be able to loan you

 some of the tools needed.

                                 The MUST that you have to bring is a sense of humour!                                     There will be lots of fun and laughter as well as lots to make. 

There are 3 classes throughout the day and you get to keep

 ALL of the product in your goody bag and more hopefully,

       if you win any of the many prizes that there will be in the raffle.

Weekly Inspiration - Sprinkles Of Life

Well! How do I follow that?

 When Cary says dusting off the iron.....she REALLY means it!
I am VERY impressed. 

Well done Cary.

Some beautiful projects last week as always.

Anyway, this week I have been working with Sprinkles of Life.

This the first of the projects for this week.

I like to show that a card or project doesn't need to be elaborate to be effective.

For this simple card I used the cloud stamp and stamped multiple times over 

Very Vanilla to make the top mat.

 I Die cut circles and ovals and stuck the tree and leaves on the top mat then fixed the layers                  with a candy dot brad.

I used a circle punch and corner rounder for the corners of the card and mats

I hope that this has inspired you in some way.

Well I dusted off the iron.....

Now I'm not known for my domestic skills but I've finally found a way to use an iron and be happy using it!!!...
Wax paper resist technique! ,
It's  so satisfying to see the patterns magically appear when you apply the ink!
To create the background for the first card I just scrunched up a piece of wax paper roughly the size of the shiny card I was using. Next I placed one piece of shiny card on a heat proof surface shiny side up then open out the wax paper and place on top. I then put another piece of  shiny card , shiny side down, on top.
Now set the iron to a hot setting but make sure you've  turned the steam off!
When the iron gets to temperature gently iron over the card sandwich. Make sure you keep the iron moving and don't over iron the card sandwich.
Carefully separate the card and set aside to cool. You now have 2 backing pieces to use 😊
I used reinker dropped into water in a spritzer and spritzed over the card and set aside to dry and watched the pattern  appear.
For the second and third card I used the same technique  but instead of scrunching a whole sheet of we paper I punched various circles of wax paper and folded them then placed them on top of the first sheet of card and carefully put the second on top and continued as before.
