Weekly Inspiration

Hello and welcome back.

This week I have an eclectic mix of projects to show you.
Today's card is made with a NEW stamp set is called Peaceful Reflection.

I used Island Indigo, Berry Burst and Whisper White cardstock.
Island Indigo, Berry Burst,Tranquil Tide and Calypso Coral Ink.
Sadly Island Indigo is retiring on 31st May. So as with everything that is retiring, if you still need some of the card, ink and refils now is the time to get them before they're gone.
Click on the link at the side to take you to our shop and you can see all of the
 amazing things that are retiring.

You'll be glad you got them before they're gone.
This is a very simple card with stamping the images a few times to get the result.

A simple message from the stamp set to finish off the card.

I can see lots of possibilities with this stamp set.
Gorgeous!

Awesomely fun...

Today I'm sharing a  card that I made as a result of playing with new line that Stampin Up have brought out called Stampin blends. These are alcohol markers and will be available in the new annual catalogue in available June 1st.
I created the background after I had made a happy accident! Lol  . I have heat embossed with white onto vellum then I turned the vellum over and began to colour using the blends. As I added the light and dark colours together the alcohol began to resist each other and it left a splodgy effect so I took out the colour corrector pen to try and save it πŸ˜‰ The result was rather pleasing to me . I then got out some silver foil card and layer'd it behind.  Wow it had a fab effect on the piece..it made the colours look metallic!! Sadly my photos don't do it justice, you'll have to take my word it truelly does shine like a metallic surface in real life ☺
Well  that's it from me for this week. I hope you all have a crafty weekend and will join us next week when Gill will be sharing her talented creations with us 😊
Have fun
Cary  x ☺

Deep in the jungle...

Today's sample is what I like to call a single layer car. Strictly speaking it's not because it's a layer on a mat on the card base πŸ˜‰. But still to me any card that doesn't involve 3d foam or an embellishment is flat sooo.... 😁
To create the jungley effect I've used 2 sheets of green ink and 1st and 2nd generations of each colour. Over stamping helps to create a feeling of depth that is further enhanced by using a sponge and I k to add further layers of colour. The dragonflies are then stamped and the sentiment.

Soft and pretty calypso coral....

After the bold and strong card of yesterday I thought I'd share a far softer and delicate card showing just how versatile the awesomely artistic stamp set is.
I stamped the flowers in Versamark randomly over my card stock then heat embossed with white embossing powder . I then used Stampin Up  watercolour pencils to colour the flowers in.  A doillie and a punched out sentiment some ribbon a  few pearls and voilΓ !

Dragonfly birthday...

Today's sample just uses the dragonfly stamp from the awesomely artistic stamp set. I think  that Stampin in black against the bright splash of colour is quite dramatic! The background splash is created using 2 of the InColors that will be available in In the new catalogue in June  . They have lovely name for colours in Stampin Up and these are no exception blueberry bushel and call me clover 😊

Awesomely Artistic...

Awesomely Artistic  what a fab name for a stamp set! But this little beauty is on the retirement list πŸ˜•...but not going till the end of May so still time to play with it before we say goodbye πŸ˜ƒtoday's inspiration also features one of the retiring  colours from the upcoming  Stampin' Up! colour revamp Tempting Turquoise ... but don't pani  there are some really lush new colours coming πŸ˜‰
Anyway I hope you like the card and have a great start to the week 😊

Window Sheets - Day 5

This very simple straight forward card was made using some of the left over from the day 3 card.
I kept the negative from the Glimmer paper.

I diecut another Celebrate from a piece of Copper Foiled card and
placing it on the reverse of the acetate, stuck it to the Night of Navy cardstock so that
it will show through.

I love the way that the glimmer paper and foil are set off so well on the dark cardstock.

A simple message from Amazing Congratulations on the front and inside...

... along with the Congratulations which was a 3 step stamping effect.
I am really pleased that this very simple card.
Honestly, it is very simple.
Thank you for joining me this week but please pop by next week to see
what amazing creations that Cary has designed.
Thank you, Gill

Window Sheets - Day 4

For this card I wanted to scallop the edges so using the Seasonal Layers Framelits Dies, some Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper, Calypso Coral, Pool Party and Whisper White cardstock and inks.

I used the Sweet and Sassy heart shaped framelits too in layers to get this colourful effect.

This time I made the card with the Calypso Coral cardstock but only a very small piece at the front.
I added the Window Sheet then the other 3 layers on top.

The blue on the scalloped edge is a piece of DSP from the Petal Garden DSP range.

The message and the flowers are from Happy Birthday Gorgeous and the LOVE is
from the Sunshine Wishes Dies.

Window Sheets and a sneak peak - Day 3

Today I have only used dies and no stamps.
Can you see or recognise the sneak peak?

The first one is the ever so lovely Detailed Floral Thinlit Dies.
These were stuck onto the Window Sheet at the centre fold with some tape.

I made a card base with the acetate then stuck a panel inside on the back of the card.

Then I used the Celebrate You thinlits which were available during Saleabration recently.
Yes, they're going to be in the New catalogue on 1st June.

I die cut these in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.
Have you spotted the other sneak peak?
It's Coastal Cabana cardstock that was an In Colour a good few years ago!
PERFECT!!

Window Sheets - Day 2

Back to cards today and my first one reminds me a little of Christmas.
I'm sure you can see why.

I have used Lovely as a Tree. One of my all time favourite stamp sets.
The image was stamped in Versamark then White embossing powder.

I heat embossed the image onto Old Olive cardstock.
I have also stamped onto the Window Sheet and heat embossed them the same way.

The little leaves are made with the Leaf punch, then I added several Rhinestones to
adds some bling.

The message is from the Special Celebrations.
A very versatile stamp set which I am glad to say will be in the new catalogue.

Weekly Inspiration

Window Sheets

This week I will be showing you some ideas using the Stampin' Up! Window sheets
also known as thick sheets of acetate.
Here are my first projects.

Surprise, surprise, I've made 3D gift containers! I NEVER make this kind of project!
Why? I have NO idea!
This one is using Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, Fresh Floral DSP and coordinating ribbon.
I've also added the daisy using the daisy punch.

A few weekends ago, Cary and I, along with several thousand other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators,
met up all over the world.
We went to Telford and one of the swaps I saw was a container similar to this one.

I'm sure that you've possibility seen the shape before. I hadn't!
A simple rectangle sealed at one end
and creased and folded to form the shape here.
Much easier than I thought it would be and I'm rather pleased with it too.

This one I made using the envelope punch board. The window sheets are extremely strong and
they need to be well creased to give the shape.

I used the lovely Fresh Florals Dsp and Berry Burst cardstock and some of the coordinating ribbon
for this one.
I have placed a small square of card in the base of the box.

This last package is ideal for a gift card.
To conceal anything in the containers you can always wrap the item in some tissue paper.
This was made using the envelope punch board this time.

I have used Pool Party cardstock and ribbon along with the Floral Phrases stamp set.

Some very simple and straightforward packaging to enhance any small gift that you may want to give.

That's it from me for 3D items.
Cards using the Window Sheets tomorrow. I hope you can pop by to have a look.

Sketches - Day 3

Today's card is a much simpler one.

Using the Score board, I scored lines across the mat in a criss-cross style.
I added a piece of the lovely quarter inch, Island Indigo Ombre Ribbon.
Sadly it's retiring as is the lovely Birthday Blossoms stamp set.
Retiring is good as it makes way for all of the gorgeous NEW products to come.

I used some pieces of paper from the Birthday Memories DSP adhered them to Soft Sky mats.
Then using the half inch punch, punched out the corners.

I raised the squares with Dimensionals then added some of the lovely mini bows.

This is the card that I was inspired by.

 So thank you to Debby.
