Fun Fold Friday - Lovely You

Well today is my last time with you this week. I have made one of my favourite folded cards and that I believe is called a Gate fold card. Very simple and very straight forward to make the gate fold card base. Each outer edge of an A5 sheet of card is folded into the centre point of the piece of card. In the UK it is 10.5cm from each end. So that should give you approximately 5.25cm fold on each side. I started by cutting 2 white mats to go onto each of the sides the same measurements as the card folds. Then I stamped randomly over each piece until I was happy with the design. I tool some of the gorgeous soft orange or Calypso Coral card for the backing of the stamped papers and cut it slightly smaller than the front panels. The white stamped panels were then trimmed down too. I like to see a small border around each of the layers or mats as we call them.

I then decided the focal point needs to a circle as there are enough straight lines on it. I die cut a circle and a frame using the Stitched Shapes dies from Stampin' Up! I stamped some  more flowers and the leaves and placed them together on the inner circle. Once done, I added foam shapes under 1 half of the circle and outer ring and placed them where they are. A simple message for the front and another for the inside with a few more of the flowers and that's it.

I do hope I have given you some ideas to get you crafting this week? Cary will be here on Monday with some of her amazing creations to show you.

Until I return, please take care, stay safe and KEEP ON CRAFTING!

Throwback Thursdays - Lovely You

Hello on this cold but wet Thursday. I hope it's nicer where you are. The good thing is it's nearly the weekend and more time to play with the grandchildren and cards  in no particular order. Though I anticipate that the grandchildren will be the majority of the playtime! For throwback Thursday I have made another simple card. I placed a strip of some long sticky notes across the centre of a white card mat. I coloured along both of the edges of the sticky note with the small flower. It was inked up using the marker pens in Mango Melody and Pretty Peacock ink. Then I stamped Smile and Always in the same 2 colours of ink and added some little dots to form a border. Another simple message to the inside and a few more flowers and it's complete and yes, it really was very simple.

Watercolour Wednesday - Lovely You

Hello everyone, thank you for stopping by today. My card today is quite subtle in the watercolouring side of things. I coloured 3 marker pens all over the surface of an acrylic block then spritzed it with lots of water. Then holding the watercolour card still on top of the block I let the paper soak up all of the ink before removing it. The colours merged softly across the paper. I left that to dry then repeated the same on another piece of paper. Once they were both dry, I die cut the flourish from the 1st piece. I used a very deep, dark purplish/red, a bright red and a very pale, peachy pink pens for the colouring. It's really amazing what water  spraying onto ink does! I then stamped the flowers onto the remaining piece of card but the peachy pink was quite insignificant once stamped out so I coloured them all in the dark red. Then I do what I like to do best and that is fussy cut them out!

The tabs on the flourish were folded around the white embossed mat and the dark red (Blackberry Bliss) card. Nothing else to hold them on but glue dots under the flowers.

Another die cut oval and the message was stamped then mounted onto the flourish centre with foam shapes then a message on the inside to complete this card. I hope you like it.
