Blow out the candles...

For my final cased card of the week I choose to copy the balloons card on page 77. This card sample is why I brought the stamp set! I loved the simplicity of the design and the way it can be so easily replicated perfect if you need a card in a hurry or to create multiples.  I changed the colours slightly and added a lick of wink of Stella to the balloons for added sparkle and voilà my version was made 😊
Well that's it for this week I hope I've inspired you to take a look at the annual catalogue and have a go at caseing.  Have fun .Cary xx

Chase your dream....

Does this happen to you?....you see a card and it's just The card? You just think it's perfect in every way? Well today's card is cased from one in the annual catalogue that I think is perfection!! It's on page 54 and uses the Follow your dreams stamps and Chase your dreams framelits.  All I've done is change the colour from Petal pink to Soft Sea Foam, both new colours to the Stampin Up Subtles colour family.

Calls for a celebration...

Today's sample is on page 131 of the annual . The sentiment is from the fantastic Calls for a Celebration stamp set.  I heat embossed the sentiment with black powder onto the vellum that is overlaying the bright coloured band's.  The vellum softens the colours and creates quite a gentle card.

Merry merlot and half full...

Today's sample to case was chosen because I haven't yet used the gorgouse rich full bodies colour Merry Merlot  the stamps used are from the Half Full set. Don't you just love the quirky sentiment?  It's fun caseing and I can highly recommend it if your mojo is lacking or you need a card in a hurry ☺

Sunshine wishes...

This week I'm doing something a little different for me. I'm going to be sharing samples I've made by casing the catalogue! Now for those who don't know casting means Copy and Share everything. I randomly picked 5 samples from the Stampin Up annual catalogue and recreated them. Some I've changed slightly, colour ribbon etc. So here's today's card it can be found on page 113 and uses the Sunshine sayings stamp set and it's coordinating thinlit called sunshine wishes.. of course I've decorated the inside as well...a card isn't complete with out it in my mind 😉

Welcome back.
Hello, for my last day this week I will show you some more of the cards I
made for the Mini Water colouring Class we held this weekend.
I just love this one!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE red. So, I used a piece of Lovely Lipstick
for the card base and Basic Black card for the mat.
Using Blended Seasons stamp set, I stamped in Versamark onto the black
then poured Lovely Lipstick embossing powder over then heat set it. SO simple I promise!
The embossing powders come in a gorgeous range of the New In Colors.
If you would like to see them or more information on them follow the link at the bottom of this page.

The card above I love the simplicity of this one. Once again I stamped the leaves image in Versamark,
then poured Gold embossing powder over and heat set it. I coloured in using Cherry Cobbler,
Crushed Curry and Garden Green watercolour pencils 2.
Like the Blended Seasons, the Watercolor Pencils 2 are only available for the month of August 2018.

My last card to show you. Cherry Cobbler for the card base and Very Vanilla for the
Tufted Dynamic embossed mat. I coloured in with Cherry Cobbler and Granny Apple Green. Adding more of the Cherry Cobbler when it was dry. Yes, I fussy cut it out too.
If you like the Blended Seasons stamp set or the bundle, please click HERE for more information.
If you like the pencils, please click HERE for the information.
Thank you for stopping by this week. Cary will be back next week to show you her inspiration for you.
Thank you Gill xxx

Today, I am showing you some standard shape cards.
Cary and I held a mini Watercolor class on Saturday and we made samples
to show what can be achieved.

We used a New stamp set that is only available for the month of August 2018.
It's called Blended Seasons.
The first one I stamped with Garden Green Ink pad and colored in using the NEW set of
Watercolor Pencils 2. Which again are only available for this month.
They may however appear in a future Stampin' Up! Catalogue and Ideas Book.

I heat embossed this with Clear embossing powder then coloured in using the pencils.
I used Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green with a flash of
Daffodil Delight from the original set of pencils.

I'm sorry about this but Christmas will soon be here! Yes it has a Christmas in the set too!
This time I heat embossed in Black before colouring in. Adding a message, a bell from the set and the gorgeous bow.
Yes, there's a set of coordinating Framelits to go with it too if you're into die cutting!
If you like the stamp set too, please click the link HERE to take you to more information about
the stamp set.

Hello.

Today is Cary’s 21st birthday again!

 Happy Birthday Cary.

I've stopped counting mine! Fortunately, Cary hasn't reached that point yet!

Today I have made another fun folded card.
I like the effect that you can get from a different shaped card.

This one is called a Twisted Easel card. I often make the standard easel card
so I thought that I would have a change. I used Thick Whisper White for the card base,
a piece of Soft Sea Foam card for the insert and some paper
onto the front from the Tea Room DSP pack.

I used Accented Blooms for this one. The really pretty effect that this gives is gorgeous.
It does have a coordinating punch called the Tailored Tag Punch which can be bought seperately.

I did my relaxing fussy cutting bits again on the flowers and punched out the message
with the punch. I also fussy cut a Butterfly from one of the designer series papers from
the really lovely Tea Room DSP pack.

Once again, I stamped then punched out the message using the punch.
If you like this stamp set, please click HERE to get more information on it.
Thank you. Gill

Hello again,
 thank you for popping by.
This next one is another Gatefold card not unlike the card from yesterday but with no
die cutting anywhere.

This is another very simple straightforward one that has just 2 folds.
I used Thick Whisper White and Bermuda Bay card stock.

I cut a piece of standard White card and stamped the radio, stars and sun bursts
all over.
Then it was cut down to size to fit onto the Bermuda Bay mats.

I punched out the message on the front using the Everyday Label Punch.
The messages were then lightly caught onto each other to close the front of the card.
Opening up there is a Bermuda Bay mat and I've stamped onto both of the flaps.
The stamp set I used is Free Cake. A really great card for anyone older than yourself.
a lovely fun stamp set.

Weekly Inspiration

This week I am supposed to be showing you projects made with a particular colour.
I've changed my mind!
Cary and I have been very busy of late. We've held many classes and organised
several more events right into next year! 2019
Doesn't seem possible does it?
Anyway, here are some of the projects I have made to show you and hopefully
inspire you to make something your way.

Using Balmy Blue and Whisper White cardstock only I folded the card base into 3 and then
folded back the 2 end folds. I think it's called a gate fold, I'm not totally sure?
The stamp sets used on this were Around The Corner for the patterns on the corners and
Birthday Banners for the message and the balloons.

I have die cut 2 more thin pieces of card with the Delicate Lace Edgelits
dies and added them to the reverse of the side panels.
Now I know not everyone has a die cutting machine but this card can easily
be made without the pretty edges and look just as effective.

I then added a few small strips of Designer Series Paper to the sides and 2 smaller inside panels.

A simple panel on the front to show the event and a simple message inside to finish off.
If you like the Birthday Banners stamp set too, please click HERE for the full details.
If you like Around The Corner please click HERE for the details of this one.

Heat Embossing - Day 5

Well, this is my last day for this week and I made a very simple but fiddly card.
(I always seem to like fiddly).

As I started stamping the bees and Dragonflies over this I could see that using
clear embossing powder would work beautifully on the Smoky Slate.

I started with a Whisper White card base and stamped and embossed the gray.
Bee Thankful is the stamp set for the Thanks.
Why I decided to fussy cut this out I have NO idea!

It took about half an hour but I think it was worth it.

I added the 'so much' to the front and You are the Best.
They are both from A Big Thank You.
Yes, yet another lovely stamp set!
Thank you from me for joining me this week,
as usual, Cary will be back on Monday with some of her beautifully clever designs.
Have a great weekend,
xxx Gill

Heat Embossing - Day 4

With this card I tried to have fun.
I wanted to cover the whole background with an image/s and made this.

Using Big Wishes stamp set, I heat embossed the Enjoy Today using
White embossing powder. I just covered the whole mat.

Adding the vellum was a sort of plan for this as it gives a steamy effect to the card.

I embossed the bath and lady twice, once on Balmy Blue and the other on Blushing Bride.
As you can see I only wanted the lady and the water so paper pieced over the 1st one.

The stamp set for the lady in the bath and the messages is Bubbles and Bubbly.
I love this one too!

Just simple messages to finish this one off.
Mission accomplished!

Heat Embossing - Day 3

Like yesterday, today's card is another that turned out different to what I had planned.
I embossed the Whisper White card base with the Layered Leaves embossing folder.
Doesn't that give a really lovely effect?

This time, the only Heat embossed area is the Frame. I used Swirly Frames stamp set.
A 9 piece stamp set with different shaped frames and some you can make your own up with.

Lovely as a Tree is the design stamp set.

The messages once again are from Better Together.

A simple card that is good for any occasion.
