Friend Like You - Day 5

Today's card is another simple one except for the cutting.
I started with a 21cm square, scored it vertically and horizontally in both directions.
More information on the stamp set can be found HERE

I cut along only 1 of the quarter sections to the centre. I scored the 2 top sections diagonally to meet in the centre at the top of the card.
Once cut and scored, I added a little magnet to the centre front corners top and bottom of the card. The 2 lower sections which had been cut, now slide over each other and the magnets seal it open.

I decorated the card using some paper from the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper.
I think the papers go beautifully with the Mango Melody card that the card base was cut in.

Using messages from the stamp set, I added a few and randomly placed them across the card.
To send this is very easy as it folds flat into a small square envelope.
That's it from me for this week.
Thank you so much for joinng me. I hope that I've given you some inspiration to make some beautiful cards whether you are a beginner or a crafting whizz!
Cary will be back next week to show you more amazing projects as always.

Friend Like You - Day 4

Hello again. Today's card is another easy to do card but it has a few folds in.

I cut a piece of card 10.5 cm by 29.7 cm and folded it in the middle at 14.85 cm.
Once folded, I folded back one of the sides in half again to form a Z fold.

I cut a small mat 8 by 10 cm and stamped a message and decorated the edges. I used Granny Apple Green and Gorgeous Grape Ink pads. This was layered onto Granny Apple Green card.

Using some DSP from the NEW In Colours, I chose a piece of the Purple Posy papers and added them to the front and inside of the card. I added the panel centrally to the card base.

Decorating the inside and adding a message to finish off this one.

Friend Like You - Day 3

Hello again. With the stamps today I have made this card very simply. Or #simplestamping
More information on the stamp set can be found HERE

Onto a White mat, I stamped Happy Day as many times as I could. I used Pacific Point Ink pad.

The single message was stamped with So Saffron Ink pad.

I added a strip of the White Flax Ribbon and stamped a few of the leaves again in So Saffron.

To complete this card, I added the lovely message inside with Pacific Point Ink.

Friend Like You - Day 2

Today's card is another straightforward one. As is most of this week,
this is otherwise known as #simplestamping
I have kept everything very simple. The only extra tools that I have used is punches.
Not essential but they do add a nice touch if you have them.

This one is a Pool Party card base and a white mat with the centre cut out.
I stamped the 3 palm trees in the centre of the card base
using Pear Pizazz and Crumb Cake ink.
The stamp set is called Friend Like You. For more information, please follow the link HERE

I stamped the dragonflies all over the white and matted it onto another piece of Pool Party.
This panel was then adhered using Dimensionals.

The message was stamped in Pear Pizazz Ink.

I added the message and dragonflies to complete this one.

Stamp Set

Hello and welcome back.
WOW!!! Didn't Cary go bling crazy last week? She made some beautiful cards using glitter.
They really were brilliant!
This week I have been playing with the NEW stamp set Friend Like You.
Here are pictures of the first of my cards.

Using a few of the stamps, I stamped over a small mat of Whisper White card.
For more information on the stamp set, please click HERE

I matted this onto a piece of Pool Party card and mounted it onto the card using Dimensionals.

A simple message was stamped in Pool Party ink and punched out using a 1 1\2"
circle Punch.

I rolled the edge of the message onto the ink pad to show some definition
and added a message along with the little dragonflies to the inside to finish this one.

Dazzling diamonds glitter..

Well it's Friday so it's  the last day of sharing for me 😊 my last samples for the week are perhaps some of the simplest.  But simple doesn't mean boring 😊
Today's samples show that you can add sparkle to your projects with pattern paper.  I've taken 2 piece of paper and added sparkle using 2 different methods. The dark blue/green paper made me think of space and the universe so I decided to add some splatters of glitter to create a feeling of stars. I mixed tombow multi purpose adhesive with a few drops of water. Then used a brush to splatter it across the paper. Then I sprinkled the glitter on top and left it to dry. Once dry I used a soft brush to remove the excess glitter and voila 😁
For the light blue/ green pattern paper I applied the tombow with a sponge randomly.  I was trying to replicate the splodgey effect of the paper. Spinkle with glitter, dry, brush of excess and again voila a piece that is not only beautiful but unique.
Well as I said that's it from me for this week. Gill will be sharing her talent with us next week so please join us for more inspiration and creativity next week.
Have fun
Cary xx

Dazzling diamonds glitter..

Do you love colour? Is coloured glitter even better? Well dazzling diamonds glitter from Stampin Up  comes as a colourless/ white glitter but guess what???? Add a few drops of classic stampin ink refill and you can have any colour you wish!! And they all coordinate with the stampin up colours!!! 😁😁😁 glitter heaven!!!
To achieve  the coloured glitter is soooo easy just decant the amount of dazzling diamonds glitter you wish to use, always allow a little extra you never know 😉. The gently drop a single drop of reinker in and stir it in until it's fully mixed in. You can then add more drops one at a time until you have the colour you want. Now the hard part..wait! You have to wait until the glitter is dry before you use it 😊
Today's sample uses 4 different coloured dazzling diamonds glitter. I used tear n tape double sided adhesive tape to create the stripes.  An easy way to get the glitter where you want it!!
I'm not sure the photos do the sparkle justice but I promise in real life they are sparklelicious 😀

Dazzling diamonds glitter...

Do you like monochromatic colour schemes? Usually I choose to use predominantly white with black but for today I've chosen to go mainly black with white highlights.  The reasoning for this is that I wanted to colour my image in with dazzling diamonds glitter. You do need patience for this technique but it sure is worth it! I love how the glitter  that looks white in the tub, shows of all its aurora borealis effect when backed by black card.
To  achieve this effect I first chose an open line image, then heat embossed it with white powder onto a piece of black cardstock.  Then I used tombow multi purpose adhesive to "paint" inside the image. Then I poured the dazzling diamonds glitter all over. I gently pressed down but didn't remove the excess immediately.  After about 5 minutes i gently poured the excess off. Then set the piece aside to dry completely.  As the glue dies clean you can see the effect being achieved. Once it's dried completely,  about half an hour or so for my piece, I used a soft brush to brush off the excess glitter.
I think the effect is stunning but sadly my photos fail to show it in all its sparkling glory... so you just have to try  for yourself 😉

Dazzling diamonds glitter..

Do you like to play with textures on your projects? One way to add texture is to use embossing paste through a stencil.
I like to use a plain white embossing paste because it can be coloured to coordinate to each individual project. You can also make it sparkle by applying dazzling diamonds glitter whilst it's still wet!!!!
You can also make your own stencils like the one I used for today's sample.  I die cut the long panel die from a strip of card stock. I then sponged a little tombow multi purpose adhesive across the back of the diecut and waited for it to dry. This makes the adhesive repositionable .
By laying the stencil on the coloured card , pasting through then sprinkling the dazzling diamonds over, then removing the stencil and repeating over the piece I created the background of today's sample.
I used the die cut stencil to decorate the inside of my card ..so no waste 😊.

Dazzling diamonds glitter...

This week I'm going to be sharing lots of sparkle!!! Now  interesting fact there are some people out there who don't like glitter...I know strange but true 😉 if thats you then please just bear with me 😊
There are lots of ways to use glitter but I'm just going to share a few so I hope you'll enjoy my samples and maybe get your sparkle out 💖
For today I've  used a lazer cut note card to create the delicate background.  I evenly applied multi purpose adhesive all over the inside of the notecard then gently closed the card. Next I poured dazzling diamonds  glitter all over the card and gently patted it into the spaces. I gently poured the excess  glitter off and then left it to dry before using a soft brush to remove the remaining excess glitter off.
The card is a simple easle card and the stamps used are the new Good Morning Magnolia set from the new Stampin Up annual catalogue. The beautiful night of navy lace ribbon trim started out vanilla in colour and I used the dark night of navy Stampin Blends, a great tip for changing up your ribbons to suit your project!!
My apologies now for my photos it's  really hard to capture the true sparkle of thw glitter 😏

#simplestamping

Well today is the last day of this weeks posts highlighting #simplestamping.  And todays card is another very clean and crisp card. But it does show how each cilour ink can have more than one shade in it. If you're an avid crafter you may have heard of generational or 2nd impression stamping. What that means is that you ink ip a stamp, stamp as usual but instead of reinking the stamp you huff over it to remoisten the ink. Then you stamp with it and it gives a lighter shade or tone of the original stamped image. You can repeat the process several more times depending on the original colour. What this does is give you beautiful tones and shades to work with. It also gives you more for your investment in the ink pad...more for your money has got to be good yes?
Today's sample shows 3 different colours and their 2nd generation colour in a very simple but striking way.
I do hope you'll have a go its a nice , #simplestamping,  technique that ever crafter can enjoy.
Have a great weekend and see you next week.
Have fun
Cary xx
