Tips, Tricks and Texhniques Tuesday - Embraced With Love

Tuesday's technique card is another very simple one. Today, using the Embraced With Love stamp set I have stamped the kangaroos 3 times. Each kangaroo was stamped onto a 1,3/4" circle punch and using my blends pens, I coloured them in. I used a complete mix of colours as I couldn't decide what colour they should be! I tried browns, greys and a combination of both. The latter is what I finished on.

I made a card base using the Pecan Pie card and Basic Beige card for the mats. I embossed the mat using one of the Basics 3D embossing folders. 3 folders for only £28 is a bargain in my book. I had a scrap of Cajun Craze card on my desk so punched out 3 circles with my 2" circle punch and mounted the images onto them. I do love a punch!!

I cut another mat of Basic Beige, 6cm wide and matted it onto the strips from the rest of the Cajun Craze card and then mounted the images across the front, I finished off with some sentiments and stamping the hands of the kangaroos only onto the bottom right of the inside of the card. I have also embossed the right-hand edge of the mat too using the embossing folder.

This or That Thursday - Grassy Grove

Hello again. Today's 2 cards are completely different and it all depends on your preferred choice. Using the Grassy Grove stamps and dies today, I stamped and die-cut lots of the deer from the set. They were stamped in Pecan Pie ink which I think is a pretty close colour for them. I have spoilt you all by having a look at one of the fabulous NEW embossing folders called Dotted Circles and the other on the THAT card is called So Swirly. GORGEOUS!! It's a new size for Stampin' Up! too which I am really pleased about. Some of the new ones are now 6" by 8,1/2" or 15.2 cm by 21.6 cm. Huge by some of the little ones.

Watercolour Wednesday - Seasonal Branches

For the watercolour card today, this one has not turned out anything like I intended it to! However, using a block stamped into Coastal Cabana ink, I added lots of water to the ink on the block then using the large water brush, I washed it across a piece of Fluid 100 watercolour paper which I had soaked earlier. It went really smoothly across the card mat. Once dry I added some more different colours including blue, pink, yellow.... Once I was completely happy with the mat, I set it aside to dry. I die cut several of the large branch dies out of Pecan Pie card using the Seasonal Branches dies. Then using the stamp set, also called Seasonal Branches, I stamped lots of the leaves onto another piece of watercolour paper. I die cut them out once they were dry and put them aside to when I wanted to add them. I die cut the centre frame out of some Gold foiled card and embossed it with the Metal Plate embossing folder. I added the branches and leaves onto the mat and added the frame around the whole front of the card. I die cut a few golden apples (who wouldn't love a golden apple tree in the garden)?
