Fun Fold Friday - Grassy Grove

Hello, here we are already on Friday! Why I don't make myself more adventurous and splash colour around when making scenes, I have no idea. I love the colours in today's card. Using the Grassy Grove stamp set and dies, today I have coordinated the stamps with some of the brand NEW designer series papers. They are called Thoughtful Journey. A pack of 48, 6" x 6" papers! They are stunning as you can see from the card today! The papers have so many gorgeous colours in and the designs too are gorgeous. Look out for them now in your NEW catalogues. You don't have a copy? Please leave us a private message at the bottom of the page and we will be happy to send one out to you.

The fold for today is one that I have made before and it's really lovely and simple. An A5 or C5 piece of card folded in half and then each half in half again. Sound simple? It really is. Then marking 2.5cm from the top and the bottom through the centre panels and the same from the edges of the centre panels to add the Fresh Freesia card. The card was embossed with the NEW So Swirly embossing folder. A few reindeer and some trees completes the card.

As always, that's it from me for another week. Cary will be back to inspire you on Monday and I will return the following Monday.

Until then, take card, stay safe but as always

KEEP ON CRAFTING!!

Take care, Gill

This or That Thursday - Grassy Grove

Hello again. Today's 2 cards are completely different and it all depends on your preferred choice. Using the Grassy Grove stamps and dies today, I stamped and die-cut lots of the deer from the set. They were stamped in Pecan Pie ink which I think is a pretty close colour for them. I have spoilt you all by having a look at one of the fabulous NEW embossing folders called Dotted Circles and the other on the THAT card is called So Swirly. GORGEOUS!! It's a new size for Stampin' Up! too which I am really pleased about. Some of the new ones are now 6" by 8,1/2" or 15.2 cm by 21.6 cm. Huge by some of the little ones.

Watercolour Wednesday - Grassy Grove

Hello on another lovely and warm Wednesday. We have had some gorgeous weather for the past week which is really lovely to see. How long it will last...no one knows but I am enjoying it while it's here. For my watercolour card this week I have used the Grassy Grove stamp set and watercoloured onto Fluid 100 watercolour paper. I literally soaked the paper with a spritzer full of water and stamped the first set of plants in the centre. As it was very wet, it bled onto the paper quite a bit which I was happy about. It has given me some lovely colours throughout the whole image. I did soak up some of the ink that had bled across the sky using a piece of kitchen tissue but am really pleased with the tinted green effect.

Tips Tricks and Techniques Tuesday - Grassy Grove

Hello, today my card is more grungy than I am used to. I am trying to push myself a little...though it is quite hard for an old girl to use new tricks! 😅 Using the Grassy Grove stamp set again today along with some daubers, I took the largest stamp and added ink to the stamp using a brownish grey of Gray Granite and the green from yesterday of Old Olive. Then with another dauber, I added some different colour in the form of a blueish green called Pretty Peacock. The colours of inks were all taken from the ink pad with the daubers alone and not direct to the stamp at all.

Make It Simple Monday - Grassy Grove

Hello, this week I am going to show you some projects using the Grassy Grove Bundle. This gorgeous stamp set is perfect for a very simple card or even going to the opposite end and making a highly elaborate one. Don't panic...I don't think that I will go that far!

My #simplestamping card is with a green pencil and a white card base, I lightly coloured over white and then with a smaller piece of card and 1 ink pad in a beautiful green of Old Olive I stamped the 2 majestic  trees. A simple Thank you and a sentiment and image inside completes this simple card.

Watercolour Wednesday - Coffee With Friends

Hello and thank you for stopping by. Today, using the amazing Coffee With Friends stamp set I went watercolour crazy! I think  I used about 12 different coloured ink pads! I had a white card base that already been scored and folded into a book fold card. I took a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolour  paper and cut it to the measurements for the right hand side of the fold. I did a Granny Apple Green wash across the whole piece using my water painter brush. I then stamped and over-stamped the hills and trees from the Grassy Grove stamp set in Old Olive then washed the colour lightly over again. On another piece of  fluid 100, I stamped and then watercoloured the 2 sets of the one image. Yes, I did the one thing that I love and fussy cut them all out.

Throwback Thursday Grassy Grove bundle

Today is Throwback Thursday and I thoughts if use a way of making cards that I was into a while ago... using die cuts. The only difference is that these days I die cut my own! As this weeks stamp set comes with a coordinating set of dies  I thought why not!! The Grassy Grove bundle is just gorgeous 😍

Not only do the dies cut out the stamped images there are stand alone dies that are just stunning.  So I wanted to create a sample that showcased the stand alone dies from the bundle.

The end result is a elegant stunning card that Was created in moments! Die ctting is so quick!!

How easy was that? Very!! Basic white thick cardstock and 3d foam to create a dimensional image.
For the background I used a piece of pattern paper from a pack that is only available for free with a qualifying order!!
The papers are called Rings of Love. They are 12" x 12" and cover the autumn and winter season perfectly.

The pattern I chose has a feel of snow falling and winter ice perfect for a Christmas card!! So that is what I made.

I die cut 2 small and 1 large deer and adhered them 2 in from and 1 behind the frame.
I took a sentiment from a set called Brightest Glow and voila a Christmas in a heat wave 🤣
