Make It Simple Monday - Embraced With Love

Hello and thank you for joining me today. This week I am going to be making some cards using a stamp set from the new seasonal mini catalogue. Today's is Embraced With Love. This little estamp has sat in my drawer for a few weeks and now it's time to share some cards with it.

A very simple card as it's #simplestamping day today. I stamped the polar bear/bear and rabbit with Memento black ink and using my cheap colouring pencils, coloured it in. My idea of the animals is that they are a winter rabbit and a polar bear. You could call them what you like but that's my name for them. A simple colouring in with pencils and a little very light blue to 'ground' the image on the page a little better.

Make It Simple Monday - In My Heart

Well, Cary has once again surprised me by making a stamp set that I don't like, much more favourable! Another one that I now need to buy! This week I will be working with a lovely stamp set that I kept looking at in the catalogue but didn't buy until very recently. So I need to make an effort and see what I can make with it. The set is called In My Heart and is a set of 9 stamps that are really pretty. Please let me know what you think?

A simple image stamped in a light grey onto a white mat and then just using some ordinary colouring pencils to colour the image in. I even made a border with a green pencil to edge the mats!

Make It Simple Monday - Grassy Grove

Hello, this week I am going to show you some projects using the Grassy Grove Bundle. This gorgeous stamp set is perfect for a very simple card or even going to the opposite end and making a highly elaborate one. Don't panic...I don't think that I will go that far!

My #simplestamping card is with a green pencil and a white card base, I lightly coloured over white and then with a smaller piece of card and 1 ink pad in a beautiful green of Old Olive I stamped the 2 majestic  trees. A simple Thank you and a sentiment and image inside completes this simple card.

Make It Simple Monday - Simply Zinnia

Hello, this is our crazy week as we have our weekend retreat this coming weekend so as you can imagine we are a little busy! It is also my son Jonathan's birthday today and we have our card and a cuppa event today too! However, we still have time for the blog. This week I will be playing with the NEW stamp set called Simply Zinnia. It's due to come out very soon so look out for some more beautiful products. This is of course a really lovely set with amazing coordinating paper, dies and gems. As it's Monday, we have our #simplestamping card first. This is ideal for the beginner stamper. I first stamped the single flower several times over the front of a card mat and added a few leaves. That's it. I coloured them in using some cheap colouring pencils in a soft yellow, orange and green. It took about 15 minutes to make, so ideal if you need a card in a hurry.

Make It Simple Monday - #simplestamping - Thoughtful Expressions

Hello, well as you can see Cary had a really great time with the cuties last week didn't she? As we have possibly mentioned once or twice, we are gearing up for our annual retreat in just over 2 weeks' time so we are both running on high gear at the moment! Today though I have gone with a really pretty bird from the Thoughtful Expressions stamp set. I started by stamping the bird onto a scrap of paper. Using a yellow colouring pencil, I coloured in lots of circular motions around the front of the card base. It's quite a pale soft yellow so it took a few go's at it. Then I stamped in a very soft grey, the little flowers that are at the top of the stamp set.  I was going to just go around the outside but got carried away. It reminds me of a birds nest. I coloured the bird in yellows, blues and greens, all in light and dark colours until I was happy with the result. Yes, I fussy cut around the bird as I wanted it to be flying up to the nest. I put the bird on foam shapes and stamped a simple sentiment at the bottom and another on the inside.

Make It Simple Monday - #simplestamping - Festive and Fun

Well hello and welcome back, thank you for stopping by. I hope you were all inspired by Cary's creations last week. I was! This week, I'm continuing the Christmas theme of course as it's under a month still to go yet! I'm using a fun stamp set called Festive and Fun. I love it. It was one of the first Christmas sets that I bought this year. As it's #simplestamping Monday, I have made a very simple and straitghtforward card but I have still used a mat inside and outside to give a little depth to the card. For those of you who are new to crafting, a mat is a layer on top of the card base itself and you can go as crazy as you would like and add as many mats as you would like or not, whatever the occasion is. I stamped the giraffe into the centre of the mat using some ordinary, water based black ink called Memento. Then as I often do on a Monday, I have used some ordinary colouring pencils to colour it in. I like to add a little colour especially when I use white on white, so I walked the edges of the white mat onto a bright blue ink pad. This then shows more dimension to the card. A few sentiments inside and out an it's complete. I really is that simple.

Make It Simple Monday - Silly Goose1

Hello and thank you for popping by. This week, I am going to be showing some projects made with the lovely Silly Goose stamp set. NOw one of my sister's was born on Christmas day so we always celebrated her birthday on Christmas Eve as well as on her birthday. I would have put Happy Christmas on the card too but as I said we always kept the 2 occasions seperate for her on purpose. It wasn't fair for her to miss out. This card is a bit of a joke for her as ther is no way on earth could any of us forget her birthday!! As I'm sure you can imagine.

A very simple card with 2 strips of paper and the silly goose stamped onto an odd circle that I had.

Make It Simple Monday - Backgrounds - Berry Harvest

Hello, I hope that you have all had a great week? I love the little truck that Cary used for last week, don't you? This week, I am going to make different projects using some of the Background stamps and dies. Today's card is using the beautiful, Berry Harvest stamp. This single stamp has loads of berries all over it and I stamped the image using the very light grey of Smoky Slate Ink Pad. I chose this colour as it's much lighter than black and easier to colour over. All I did was colour in the one stem or branch to highlight. Once again it was coloured in using some very cheap pencils. They are not as good as Stampin' Up!s Watercolour pencils but it is actually a very simple card that anyone can make. It's a very easy card to do too.

Make It Simple Monday - #simplestamping - Time Together

Hello and thank you for joining me today. This week I am going to be sharing some cards made using the Time Together stamp set and later in the week, the dies too. Each time I saw the stamp set in the catalogue I studied it and then went past it. One day, I decided to order the bundle. There was something about this set that I needed to work with... no idea why but there it is.

So my first card is a very basic, simple card. Using only a White card base, I stamped the timer (sorry, I don't know the correct name for it) onto the front of the card base and then the extra elements. A few flowers and such later, I coloured them in with my granddaughter's colouring pencils. They are ordinary pencils that can picked up very cheaply, so easy to use and colour in with.

Make It Simple Monday - Seasonal Branches

Hello and welcome back to another week of some more cards from me. This week I am going to use the beautiful set of stamps called Seasonal Branches and later in the week, I aim to use the matching dies too. So please keep an eye out. As it's #simplestamping for today, I have used only a card base. I stamped the branches in the brown ink and then the birds from the set. Using some ordinary colouring pencils, I started to colour in the birds using many different colours including red, yellow, orange, blue and a few browns. The leaves were stamped in the brown ink pad called Pecan Pie from Stampin' Up! I added some little green touches to make it look a little like buds, foliage starting to shoot all along the stems of the branches. Once I was happy with that, I just added a light blue pencil all across the card and some green lower down to show as if there are hills and grass. I will never profess to be an artist but I will always have a go. That's where all the fun is..... in just having a go.

Make It Simple Monday - #simplestamping - Coffee With Friends

Hello, I do hope that you have had a great week? This week I am using another of the new stamp sets from the Annual catalogue. It is called Coffee With Friends. It actually isn't one that I would generally go to but like many other sets, this was calling to me! Every time I opened the catalogue, it almost jumped out at me! Do you ever get that with anything? I have lately, weird isn't it?

Anyway, starting with a plain white card base and Basic White mat, I stamped the image of the coffee cups and croissants several times across the mat. It's not always necessary to add a mat but I like to show that there is a single mat on a card. I used Smoky Slate which is a very soft gray ink pad. Then my fun part...I coloured them in using colouring pencils. It needed a background too so I just coloured some light blue/green pencil across the background. I added sentiment onto the ovals punched from the double oval punch to finish. #simplestamping
