Thoughtful Expressions - Fun Fold Friday

 Hello for this fun fold Friday card. This is the last one from me for this week and I have been inspired by a Christmas card I had from a lady in my team. Her name is Lynn Beatty and she makes the most beautiful cards as well as gorgeous wreaths, table decorations, gift packaging, bags, boxes, the list goes on. A very clever and lovely lady. Using the Thoughtful Expressions, I stamped several of the large flowers and the small flower too. I started by cutting 2, A6 card bases and then trimmed one of them, in this case a white one down by 0.5cm on the top and the side. The Real Red card is the C6 card and the smaller white one, was adhered to the inside of the card base on the right hand side of the base card. I have just received a pack of the Most Adored DSP which is another SABand has just been added in to the free items. We have another lot of Saleabration items bought in including current stamp sets, Stampin' Write Marker pens, the colour core collection too. Remember for every £45 order from the catalogues you get to chose a free item from the Saleabration catalogue too! What a great deal it is!

 

 

Above is the card from Lynn I had at Christmas and below is a picture of the gorgeous coordination dies that go with the matching stamp set of the same name as the stamp set.

 

 

Below is the Most Adored DSP that I used. 

I used 2 different mats of the DSP which is pink, red or white patterned on one side and gold patterned on the other side.I folded the right hand side of the White card base in half straight down and it was there that I adhered the red die cut mat to.

I used the dies to cut the centre panel out once I had stuck the 2 pieces of DSP on.  I didn't add Tombow to the centre of the DSP's. As you can see, I used the red mat of the card base for the inner fold.

 

 

Once the central mat was on, I started to decorate the rest of the card. I added a few fussy cut flowers from another piece of the DSP to the inside too. I love it!

Fun Fold Friday - Silly Goose

 Welcome back on this yet another cold day. We've had really cold few week's so far and I personally don't like it! Anyway, back to the geese. As this is the last day for now with using the Silly Goose stamp set, I have a had real good fun in making this one today. From the front, it looks like a simple card fold until you change the angle. 

I started with a Thick White card base 29.7cm wide by 14.85cm high. In Imperial measurements, it is 11,1/4" by 5,7/8". I scored along the long width and scored at 10.5cm, 12cm, 22.5cm and 24cm. Imperial... 4,1/8", 5.3/4", 8,7/8" and 9,1/2". I die cut some wiggly rectangles using the Deckled Rectangles dies. I used the larger for the outside on each layer and smaller all the way down as many layers that I wanted. In this case today, 4 layers.

To join the layers together, I used the Foam adhesive strips. I love the blocking that they create. As the card would have been visible from the edges of the card, I made a frame to cover the whole of the inside. 

I cut a piece white card to make the frame. It was 12.5by 16cm or 4,3/4" by 6,1/4". I scored this at 0.5cm and 1.5cm on all 4 sides. Or 3/16!" and 9/16" again on all 4 sides. You'll need to burnish all of the score lines and trim some of the corner folds off to be able to fix them into the position nice and squarely.

Adding Designer series paper to decorate and a few of the gorgeous geese to complete it.

Technique Tuesday - Jolly Words

 Today, using the Jolly Words once again, I have had some fun. I stamped the image with the JOY in onto a White card mat and had fun colouring it in using my Stampin' Blends pens. Back to the card, I decided that I wanted my traditional colour of Real Red (my favourite). I cut a card base and then some white C6 card mats too. I embossed the front mat using one of the three embossing folders in the 3D basics folders. They are such good value and give really gorgeous images too. I added 2 strips of the white, silver edged ribbon straight down the front and the added the small coloured mat over the top. To change the inside a little, I turned the embossing folder diagonally across the card and got a lovely jaunty angle embossed across the inside. I am rather pleased with it too!

 

Throwback Thursday - Apple Harvest

 Hello again, today's card using the Apple Harvest stamp set I've gone back to a very simple design. I randomly stamped some of the apple stamps over a C6 white mat. That then had a slightly smaller mat added to it using a piece of the Vellum Layering Designs 12" by 12" papers. Several are printed on in white or black ink. Others have maps and printed information again in black and in white. I chose the white small printed sheet. A Stitched Rectangles die cut in Metallic silver and then 3 apples were stamped onto a white scrap of card and of course fussy cut out. 

A simple sentiment saying Thanks and the rest of the sentiment was cut and placed on the inside. That's it, a very simple throwback for this Thursday.

 

Throwback Thursday - Bright Bauble - Special Cards

Hello again on this chilly Thursday. Today the card is fairly straightforward but there's lots of card and paper involved. Using the Detailed Bauble dies, I die cut several of the baubles out in Red Foiled card. I also die cut some large panels in Basic White card from Scalloped Contour Dies and stamped them with the sentiments and stars from the Bright Bauble stamp set. 

I have used the lovely, proper red for Christmas called Real Red. One of my fave colours. I started with an A4 piece of card then scored and folded it in half. I added a further piece of card this time 21cm by 15.85cm. This was scored at 1cm down the 21cm edge, so the panel was now 14.85cm by 21cm. Adding tape to the 1cm folded strip and fixing it to the end of the card, this then gave me another panel the same size as the front and now the centre panel.

 

 

  I fussy cut around the sentiment on the front of the card and added it to some of the Real Red card and fussy cut again. I adhered the ribbon behind this sentiment to stabilise the bauble.

                                                                                                                                                                                            

 

 

Once the back panel was added, I scored down the now centre panel at 7.4cm, once it was folded to point into the card, it gave me the v shape in the centre. 

 

 

Using several panels of Peaceful Place paper (DSP) I added them to the red card after I had added the Real Red Sheer Ribbon to the baubles and the back of the DSP panels.

You may be able to see that the baubles inside are only fixed by the top of the ribbon and left to dangle into the card.

 

 

I found that I had an abundance of die cut snowflakes so decided to splatter them liberally over the card.

 

If you look at the card from above now, you will see that it gives the shape of the letter M

Fun Fold Friday - Peaceful Deer

Well we are at Friday again this week already. I have really enjoyed playing with the Peaceful Deer stamp set so much that I will be making many more ready for my Christmas card collection. I always make so many cards and often send loads to the charities too. It's pointless me keeping them if someone else can make use of them, why not! 

Today's is a sort of gatefold card but it has a bit of an extension on. I had this idea in my head and played with lots of printer paper to eventually get it to work out. Now that I have the plan, I will be making many more in the coming weeks. I started with the gorgeous red of Real Red card. I cut the piece of A4 card in landscape position at 14.85cm by 29.7cm. Then another piece of red 11cm by 14.85cm. The smaller piece was scored along the 11cm width at 5cm and 10cm. The longer piece of card was scored from the left at 9.9cm, 19.8cm and 24.75cm. One of the smaller sections was adhered to the front of the 1cm section on the other, smaller piece of card. You now have a very wide card base. I have reversed mine so that the larger panels, the 9.9cm one are to the right of the card. They really can be either end. Then it was down to the decoration. As this is like a concertina folded card, I ended up covering all of the panels on both sides. My choice but not totally necessary. The deer paper is from the Peaceful Prints DSP from Saleabration. I added the stag and the doe over another half of the deer on the papers.  The mesh panel on the inside right of the card is from the called Gingerbread and Peppermint Memories and More card pack. There really are some gorgeous cards in that pack!
