Fun Fold Friday - Legendary Ride

 Well, here we are at another Friday is here, time really does fly when you are having fun doesn't it? I have had a blast this week. Being bought up in a family with my brother and dad both riding motorbikes day in and day has had me reminiscing! The piles of greasy, oily and smelly pieces of motors etc on the kitchen floor and table!!! Mum was always getting rather angry! Bless her! Anyway, enough of that... Today I've made a 6 by 6 card in white and covered it using some of the papers from the Countryside Inn papers and also the clouds from the Take To The Sky DSP too. Plus of course a little piece of Silver foiled card. You have to love foil when it's embossed! Legendary Ride was one of my favourite stamps when it first came out as my son too is very keen on his motorbike (much to my disgust or rather fear)! 

A few motorbikes in different sizes and colours plus the extras to finish it off and that's me done for the week.

Tips, Tricks and Techniques Tuesday - Legendary Ride

Hello on a much cooler Tuesday. I know that it's supposed to be a maximum of 16 degrees but to me that's too cool! For Cary..... It's even then too warm! She has her own central heating system! Lucky woman! Mines like a fridge! Anyway, today's card is one that I was inspired to make by my son, I showed him the stamp set and he remembered that it was used for his birthday last year. His response was...I'd just like to fly away on mine sometimes! Hence flying into the clouds! I am calling this one a Z fold card.

I used a piece of DSP from the Take To The Sky papers from this year's new stamp set called Adventurous Sky. It's all about bi-planes. It really is a great looking set and I can't wait to share some cards with you from using them. I have used the dies too today and played around with them to highlight parts of the bike, which I must say looks very like my son's bike too!

 

 

This or That throwback Thursday. Thursday's gone by

 Hello, as many of you know ... cos we've mentioned it so much... we have our retreat this weekend and Cary and I are up to our eyeballs getting ready. So apologies from me as today's post is this and that from a little while ago. I will start with one of my fave's of long ago. Well, not that long ago as it was on 12th of January 2023. I love this set so much that I still use it. it is called Dainty Delight. 

Using the Dainty Delight stamp set, I stamped the largest image and coloured it in using my Stampin' Blends, alcohol Marker pens. I picked a piece of the Silver foiled papers and embossed it using the Twigs and Sprigs gorgeous embossing folder. Sadly the folder has now retired but as always why stop using it just because it has retired? The detail on it is stunning! I adhered that to a piece of the Granny Apple Green mat and then to a White Card base. The stamped image was then cut down and adhered to another piece of the green and mounted onto the card using Dimensionals, 3D foam shapes. A simple message and the 2 mats on the inisde and this one was finished.

 The next one is this weeks THAT card, this gorgeous blue flower,  was posted on 23rd of March 2023. We really did have some beautiful stamp sets last year too didn't we?

The gorgeous new stamp set and dies etc are called Irresistible Blooms. The images are beautiful and added to the dies too, they just go so much further.  My THAT card today is an all white based card and added a white mat with a piece of DSP from the Fitting Florets papers which have also retired. Just this simple strip of DSP adds a lovely hue through the card. I used one of the dies from the set which literally die cut the stripe going through the card. What a difference! 

Fortunately, both stamp sets are still current in the catalogue too so if you like it as much as I do and don't yet have it....now's the time to treat yourself.

So simple but I think so elegant. What do you think?

Watercolour Wednesday - Simply Zinnia

 Hello, I am posting this quite late now as the retreat has been taking over our lives for a few weeks now but more recently this week! It's crazy!! Anyway, I have winged enough. I really am looking forward to seeing everyone again. With the lovely Simply Zinnia stamp set, today I literally did watercolour the large floral image today. I started by embossing a white mat with the Painted Posies folder, added a piece of DSP from the Flowering Zinnias designer series paper pack. The DSP was added to a white card base, then a silver foiled mat and the embossed mat. On another white mat, I stamped the large flower in Stazon Ink pad then using the block to pick up the ink with my water brush, I started to colour in the whole flower spray. I added the spray with Dimensionals to add a little height. 

This or That Thursday - Legendary Ride

As always, I enjoy making the this and that cards as they are very similar to each other but still very different. Today's cards are no exception. Using the Legendary Ride stamps and dies, I stamped 2 of the big motorbikes. One onto a piece of dark, silver foiled card and the other onto white card. I die cut the silver frames for both of the bikes and adhered them to the bikes. The first card base, I cut the centre of the front panel out and added a sheet of Vellum to the reverse of it. I then embossed the front of the card using the Metal Plate embossing folder. I added the foiled motorbike to this one but sadly the photos don't show it so well! If you look closer at the picture, you will be able to see the detail a lot easier.

 The second card was more straightforward. I embossed the front of the card base alone and added the stamped and die cut motor bike to it. A few sentiments onto foil and Basic Gray card and both cards are complete.

Fun Fold Friday - Classic Cloche

 Well here we are again, it's Friday already! Another week has sped past once more! Today's card is probably the one that I have been waiting to show you. For the last time this week of using the Classic Cloche stamp set, I made a card base in the gorgeous dusky blue of Misty Moonlight. I folded one half of the card sides in to form the base of an easel card. I added 2 white panels to each of the smaller halves and then added a piece of the Whimsy and Wonder Speciality Paper to each of the white mats. The paper is also the Misty Moonlight and has little Christmas trees and tiny stars across it.

I cut a blue mat 12.5cm by 9cm and another piece of Whimsy and Wonder paper in the Silver stripe. From the silver stripe paper, I die cut the cloche from the centre of it. I then die cut another cloche from Silver Foiled card and stamped the cottages onto white card using the Smoky Skate Ink pad. This white piece was die cut out using the smaller of the cloche dies which as you can see, emulates the silhouette of the cottages. I glued this using Tombow Multipurpose glue onto the silver cloche. I took the Cloche Shaker Dome and peeled the tape from the front of the dome. then placed it inside the aperture in the Silver striped paper. Next I placed Tombow Multipurpose glue on the rear of the Silver Foiled Dome and using the dome as a guide, I placed the silver dome onto the blue piece of card that I cut earlier. 

Using the Subtle Shimmer Sequins, I sprinkle 2 or 3 pinches onto the silver dome. Making sure that the sequins stayed within the stamped area on the dome, I removed the adhesive tape from the bottom part of the dome then covered the back of silver striped paper with glue then placed the dome and paper into a centralised position on the blue card mat. 

 

 

I added a white mat to the inside on the card which I stamped with the cottages once again. Taking a  small strip of white card, I stamped the sentiment and added the white strip to a piece of the Misty Moonlight card. This was then added to the inside of the card using Dimensionals (foam shapes). This allows the front of the card to stand up like an easel when open. The small blue mat with the dome on now needs to be added to the card. The best way I find is to add adhesive, tape or wet glue to the back at the lower part of the mat, then add adhesive to the top of the front half of the card to where it will be standing against.

Using the dies from the Cloche set of dies, I die cut several of the trees in different sizes then place them around the front of the blue and silver mat.

Throwback Thursday - Peaceful Deer

Today's card is another of the technique type of card that I always love to make. Using Peaceful Deer stamp set, I have matted and layered this card once or twice! I started with a Deep Gray card base called Basic Gray then added a soft, silvery grey in the Smoky Slate. On top of that, I added the gorgeous piece of Double Sided Paper or Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! The papers are called Peaceful Place. They are all shades of grey, black and white and on one of the sides are silver foiled patterns and designs. They are simply stunning. Well worth buying. Then I started with the deer. I stamped several of them using the Memento Ink pad and coloured them in using the Ivory Stampin' Blends. I also added a strip of the gorgeous sparkly silver mesh ribbon. 

The disc for the message is made up of 2 silver foiled circles and 2 smoky slate circles. It was fun trying to get them all in different sizes but I managed it!

 

Fun Fold Friday - Batik Boutique

 For my last card this week I have made a fold that is so easy and really lovely. I guess it's a little bit like a Gate fold except that the right hand panel is an additional piece of card. I started by stamping the large flowers all over a piece of white card using the Batik Bouquet stamp set. Then piece by piece I stamped the additional pieces onto the other colours to get the effect I wanted. I used a Blackberry Bliss card base which is 17cm by 14.85cm high. I scored at 10.5cm across the 17cm side and folded it. The additional piece is 10.5cm by 9.5cm. I scored 1.5cm along the 10.5cm length. Using the small piece, I adhered it to the righthand inside of the card before adding a piece of Magenta Madness card mat over it. 

I do like coordinating the card colours together and really like this colour combo too. I cut 2 mats in Magenta Madness and embossed them both with the Pretty Flowers embossing folder. It gives a really great texture to the card front. I added a stamped piece to the left and using a silver foiled square that I already had, I added the die cut flower to the front. 

Using the Best Year stamp set, I completed the card with sentiments inside and out.
