This or That Thursday - Designer Series Paper - Go To Greetings and So Sincere

Today you get 2 for the price of one with the This and That projects. My first card is THIS, Thinking of You. I have used a piece of Night of Navy card base and some of Stargazing DSP on this one. I added some fussy cut planets from the papers too as without them the card would have been possibly usable as a different type of sentiment. A sad one! I used one of  my favourite greetings stamp sets on this, Go To Greetings. I love this set because there is only 5 phrases or sentiments but they are in lots of different sizes too. The best of both worlds in my opinion.

THAT

My THAT card is another card that used the Stargazing Designer Series Papers for only the difference is the stamp set that I used. So Sincere has some really great phrases or sentiments as you have possibly seen the earlier part of this week. This one is a standard upright C6 card but I have used 4 different pieces of DSP. I'm not one for using strips of paper but it was shouting for it to be done. From the gorgeous shades of pink paper with planets to the bright colours and the dark sky in the centre. I used another of the planets for this card which I think sets it off really well.

Fun Fold Friday - Men's Cards - Reach For The Stars

I just love the stamp set Reach For The Stars. The Stargazing papers too are gorgeous so what more can I say other than I have had to share one of my cards from last weekend's class. This is a fun fold like I made a few weeks ago which was a design of Susan Campfield, her Flying Seagull card. I used Lemon Lime Twist card for the card base and main central mat and white for the mat on the reverse.

I cut 2 pieces of card 10.5cm by 21cm and scored them both at 5.7cm, 10.1cm and 15.8cm. The 2 pieces which measure 5.2cm are folded in and butted up together where I added tape to join them. I then added a square of white card 10.3cm by 10.8cm wide to the back where you will be able to write on. The front will have 2 pieces that look like they are 'floating' around in the centre. To that, I added a piece of card 10.5cm by 10.5cm to the 2 'floating' pieces. If you hold the 2 outer edges with the central coloured mat on the bottom, you can see why Susan called it a flying seagull card.

Make sure that all of the score lines are very well burnished so that you get a more fluid movement to the card. From there, it was just a case of measuring the panels and adding decorations to it. I added 2 white panels which I dry embossed using 1 of the 3 the Basics 3D embossing folders. I chopped several of the part planets from the Stargazing DSP and an occasional whole one to mine. I added a piece of DSP to the central green mat and stamped the sentiment and a few stars too using the White Ink pad.

The picture above reminds me of a grasshopper not a seagull! You can see that by folding the outer folds behind the front central panel, it will fold flat and fit into a standard C6 envelope.

That is it once again from me. I hope you have found some inspiration to make some cards for yourself too.

Cary will be back as usual on Monday so please pop by to see what she has made to inspire you.

Until I return, stay safe, keep well but as always...

KEEP ON CRAFTING!

This or That Thursday -Men's Cards - Beside Me

The reason that I am doing cards for men again is a, I never have any idea what to make and b, it is Father's Day here in the UK on Sunday 17th June. This weeks this or that are 2 cards that I got carried away with! The first, This, is an Z fold card and the That card is a Double Z fold card. I used the Beside Me stamp set as I think it relates to dads in so many ways. Apart from the fact that I like it anyway.

My first the Z fold is a simple one in that I used a strip of paper from the Stargazing DSP for the 1st 2 mats, Tahitian Tide for the inside and front mats and the lovely image of a dad figure teaching a little boy to ride his bike.

This and That cards together below

The That card is similar in style obviously but this time I stamped the image from Beside Me and cut our around it so it looks like they are all sitting on a bench and not fishing. I cut the fishing rods off.

The papers this time are from the Countryside Inn DSP which again are gorgeous. A simple Happy Birthday from the Phrases For All again and that is completed too.

The decision now is which do you prefer?

Make It Simple Monday - Reach For The Stars - Men's Cards

Hello and welcome back to a gorgeous, lovely, hot and sunny day! I know  always talk about the weather here but it's so nice to see the sun and feel the amazing heat that we have at last! This weekend just gone, Cary and I held a class with lots of our wonderful ladies with the theme of MEN. If you're anything like me I struggle to make men's/male themed cards, I have no idea why but I do! I'm going to try not to use the cards that I've already made but new ones. My first card is, as it's Monday, a very simple one. Using a piece of paper from the Stargazing designer series paper pack, I placed a mat on a plain white card base. Using the Reach For The Stars stamp set which coordinates with the papers, I stamped the astronaut and fussy cut him out. It really is very easy to cut out fortunately. A simple sentiment for the front onto a small circle and for the inside too and the card was complete. #simplestamping
