Lever Card Tutorial
Thank you to everyone for asking for these intructions.
All Products used are from Stampin' Up! and available in the UK from
Cary or Gill (her or me!)
or from your local Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator.
I have used Daffodil Delight and Elegant Eggplant card stock for this card.
This is a C6 card base - 21 cm x 14.85 cm, scored and folded at 10.5 cm
Using the Layering Squares Framelits I die cut a 7.2 cm Square from the centre front of
the Daffodil Delight card base.
Using an alternate colour, (in this case Elegant Eggplant) I cut a Square 8.2 cm and die cut the centre out of this too
I added the outer edge of the Square around the aperture in the card.
Keep the square that you cut out to one side .
The central piece of the card.
Cut another piece of card, 13 cm x 14.5 cm and score at 2.5 cm, 8 cm, and 13.5 cm.
Stick tape as shown on the edges.
I used Stampin' Up! Brights Designer Series Paper Stack. (DSP)
Each stack has 40 sheets of 12" by 12" DSP. 2 sheets of each double sided designs in 10 colours. An absoloute bargain at only £20 a pack. All those beautiful colours so you can use 1 piece of each design and stroke the other if you are so inclined!
Cary!!
Sorry, I went off on a different tangent!
Using the square piece of Elegant
Eggplant cut from the frame, trim about 1 or 2 mm from the edges on 2
sides only. This will help the square to stay in place when the card is
opened.
Cut a piece of DSP 6.5 cm x 6.5 cm and stick centrally on the square.
Add tape or glue of your choice to a little over half on the reverse and on one side as shown above.
Using the Daffodil Delight centre piece with the 2.5 cm border away from you,
centralise the edge of the square onto the 8 cm fold of the inner piece.
Add some small pieces of tape or glue inside the edge of the 2.5 cm scoreline or as shown.
Remove the tape on the 2.5 cm edges and
line the whole of the central piece and line the square up with the
aperture on the card base. Press to seal
Remove the tape on the other side of the central piece keeping the card
front closed, then close the back of the card over this tape or glue.
Mats and Decoration
Using your
contrast colour card, cut 2 mats 6.8 cm x 14.5 cm. Lay one piece inside
the front of the card so that you can see it through the aperture.
Mark
this with a pencil and add 2 mm to make hole bigger, cut out the
rectangle. This should give a little border around the mat on the
inside.
Cut
2 pieces of DSP 6.3 cm x 14 cm. Add one to the whole mat and cut the
centre rectangle out as before. Taking out the rectangle but making it larger again to
show the mat as below.
Cut a piece of contrast cardstock 5 cm x 12.5 cm and a piece of DSP 4.5 cm x 12 cm.
Layer these mats together and add onto the right hand side on the central piece of card.
To decorate, I used the Botanical Builder Framelits. There are so many to chose from in this set.
Hence the reason that I marked where each die fits!
I chose these 5 dies. I cut 2 large
flowers, 1 small and 3 leaves in the card base colour.
Then 1 small stamen
and 2 large stamen in the contrasting colour.
I think that's what
they're called.
My finished card in the new colours.
