Friday fun folds don't have to be difficult and today's inspiration is one such simple fun fold. I had 2 little critters left to showcase from the Count On Me stamp sets, the cuddly koalas and the sweet fox.
The fold is called a fancy gatefold card. I found it online shared by a lady called Vanessa Baker. All you need are 2 pieces of cardstock 1 measuring 14.85cm x 10.5cm. The second piece measuring 10.5cm x 29.7cm and scored at 5.2cm, 10cm, 19.6cm and 24.5cm.
Take the larger piece and fold the first scoreline as a mountain fold, the second as a valley, the third as a valley and then finally the fourth as a mountain. Use a bone folder to reinforce the folds well.
Now cut 2 pieces of pattern paper 2.5cm x 10cm. Adhere these piece one to each end of the 10.5cm x 14.85cm piece leaving a narrow boarder on all outside edges.
Next place the folded panel into the center of the card base. Making sure that it is level top and bottom adhere the center portion in place leaving the gatefold arms free
Now to decorate the gatefold portion. Take 2 pieces of patterned paper measuring 4.8cm x 10cm and adhere these to the front panels. Mine are the red spotty ones.
Now cut 2 pieces of patterned paper measuring 4.4cm x10cm and adhere to the inside arms of the gatefold. Mine are in the same stripe paper as the base card.
The final space to be decorated is the center panel. I cut a piece of pattern paper measuring 10cm x 9cm and adhered it. I then cut a piece of white cardstock measuring 9cm x 8cm and adhered that ontop of the pattern piece.
Now to add the stamped, coloured and fussy cut critters and sentiments as desired.
Well that's it from me for this week. Please join me here next week when Gill will be sharing her inspiration with us all.
Have a great weekend what ever you're upto.
Have fun
Cary xx
