On the last Sunday of every month I host a craft together on Zoom. We make 2 cards together . I design the cards, then recreate them at the same time as everyone online. Everyone knows in advance what products I'm using but there is no restriction on anyone else to use the same. So for the last Craft and Connect session I used the gorgeous Painterly Pears suite. Some of the attendees even used Christmas products π«£ in August π€ͺπ€£.
I usually like to create a fun fold card and a simpler design. Today I'm sharing the fun fold card. Now this card could be be called a wobble card or a floating card or something entirely different π«£
Both these cards start as a piece of 14.85cm x 21cm piece of cardstock scored at 5.25cm and 10.5cm. ( 8½" x 5½" scored at 2⅛" and 4¼) .
The 2 folds are both folded as mountains.
Then take a piece of cardstock measuring 10cm x 14.4cm and adhere it on the inside. ( 5⅛" x 4⅛"). Then take a piece of cardstock the same colour measuring 14.4cm x 4cm (5⅛ x 1⅜) and adhere it to the right-hand side of the inside panel. This will become the stopper for the folded card front.
The front panel, or focal point, starts as a panel of cardstock measuring 7.5cm x 11cm (3" x 4"). This panel is attached to the front of the card using a piece of cardstock I'm calling the riser. This piece measures 4cm x 9.5cm scored at 1cm, 2cm, 3cm and 4cm from each end. (1½" x 3⅝" scored at ¾", ¾", 1⅛" and 1½" from each end). The scorelines are folded as valley, mountain and mountain from each end so that they squash together.
Next adhere your pattern paper and /or mats to each side of the card front. Then adhere the riser piece over the center scoreline. Only apply adhesive to the first panel of the riser. This is then place either side of the center fold of the card in the middle of the card front. Apply adhesive to the center panel of the riser and adhere you focal part/ front panel centrally to the card.
Now to decorate!
The finished card will fold flat for posting and storing. And when open and standing the focal panel wobbles nicely for a kinetic card π.
