Thus or That Thursday - Gift of Giving and Joy To You

 Well...it really is going to be a very wet day today. We have a storm heading our way called Ciaron and it's due to be a doozy! I do hope that it won't be as bad as predicted though. However, trying to keep focused...my cards today are similar but different in as much as one is quite pale and the other bright and Christmassy. My first card is the soft purple of Highland Heather and is an easel card. Very simple and straightforward but some added dimension as I used the lovely circles from the Cheery Patterns embossing folders. 

My That card is traditionally bright red and fun. I stamped the same gift boxes as above but coloured them in very bright colours and added some of the parcels from a piece of paper from the Beary Christmas DSP. 

The Merry Christmas is taken from another stamp set called Brightest Glow.

Watercolour Wednesday - Gift of Giving and Joy To You

 Here we are on this very wet Wednesday. Here in the UK we are having the most horrendous amount of wind and rain. In fact we have had severe weather warnings so to wash away the rain I chose to make a really fresh and happy coloured card. Well I think it is anyway! I used the watercolour brush and washed the gorgeous soft pink of Bubble Bath ink all over the centre of the white mat. Once it was dry and using a Stazon Jet Black Ink pad and the Gift Of Giving stamps, I stamped the lovely little gift boxes and then started to give them a lovely watercolour wash in the individual colours. 

I matched colours up with the ribbon which is Sweet Sorbet Metallic Woven Ribbon. I mounted the white mat onto a piece of pink in the Bubble Bath card then added these to the White card base. I finished the card with the sentiment from Joy To You stamp set.

 

Technique Tuesday - Joy To You and Gift of Giving

 Hello again. Today's card is similar to Monday's card in that I used the same stamps from both sets again but placed them slightly differently. This one has the Joy To You stamp on the front which was stamped and added to a deep red piece of card called Cherry Cobbler. I then decided to chop it up! So using the Patchwork Pieces dies, I used the simple curvy shaped one on this. Now using the dies was not necessary but I like the texture that it has. Once the pieces were back together, I placed them onto a Cherry Cobber card base which I embossed with the gorgeous Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder. It embosses Christmas words all over in different directions and sizes. I love it. 

I then stamped the Hot Chocolate cup onto a white mat and used my blends pens to colour this one in. 

Make it Smple Monday - #simplestamping - Gift of Giving and Joy To You

 Hello. First I must apologise for being late today! Life!! My card today is made using the 2 stamp sets. I have used the Gift of Giving which is a perfectly wonderful stamp set that will function on it's own and I have matched it with the Joy To You. 2 wonderful stamp sets that are great on their own as well as being co-ordinated together too. A simple card, I stamped the cup in a very light grey ink as I dont want too much definition and I want the colour to show. I have used my watercolour pencils today as my grand-daughter has acquired her pencils back to do some homework! Tut! Tut! I haven't used the watercolour brush, I literally used them as pencils.
