This or That Thursday - Irrestible Blooms

Hello and thank you for stopping by this week but an even bigger thank you to Cary who has been posting for me. I am now almost back to myself and back crafting again thankfully, albeit slowly! This week I started to make some cards using the gorgeous new stamp set and dies etc called Irresistible Blooms. The images are beautiful and added to the dies too, they just go so much further.

For my 2 cards today. I started by making THIS... an all white based card and added a white mat with a piece of DSP from the Fitting Florets papers. Just this simple strip of DSP adds a lovely hue through the card. I used one of the dies from the set which literally die cut the stripe going through the card. What a difference!

I repeated most of the steps from the first card onto the THAT card. I made it in Balmy Blue card this time no mats other than the flowers. The patterned DSP was added to the inside of the card itself so you get to see the reverse of the paper. I used one of the new embossing folders from the Basic 3D embossing folders

Watercoloour Wednesday - At The Pond

Hello again and thank you for stopping by. Today's watercolour I have cheated a little. We have a new range of Designer Series Papers called Fancy Flora and the sheet I chose reminds me so much of the Monet's bridge. So I have paired it with the At The Pond stamps. The cute little frogs are really gorgeous and I think the paper is perfect for the frogs too.

I did water colour some white paper by soaking it in water and then some watered down ink washed all over. Once it was dry, I stamped the images using the Saddle Brown Stazon Ink Pad. I think the brown looks more realistic against the black ink. I fussy cut all of the images out, yes, I know that I'm crazy but I find it very therapeutic and relaxing.

Technique Tuesday - Wisteria Wishes

Here we are on a Tuesday already, where does the time go? Well, today's card is another style that I like to make but this time using the Wisteria Wishes stamp set, I stamped the stalks and leaves a few times randomly over the white mat using the gorgeous green of Pear Pizazz ink pad and then went in with the pale purple of Highland Heather for the beautiful fronds of the flowers themselves. I added an extra layer of the flowers with the darker purple of Gorgeous Grape. Then, I chopped it all up into rectangles! It was that simple. Each of the rectangles were then adhered onto the Pear Pizazz card to show the definition between the layers. A few sentiments later and it's all complete. I hope you like it.

Make It Simple Monday- #simplestamping - Wisteria Wishes

Hello and welcome back on this #simplestamping Monday. All of this week I will be making some card to show you using the gorgeous stamp set called Wisteria Wishes. Today's card is literally a very simple one too. I used only 2 colours, a gorgeous purple and my old time favourite green.

Watercolour Wednesday - Nature's Prints

Today's card is another simple but fun card for me. I used a scrap of Watercolour Paper and thoroughly soaked it with water. I inked across the Fern embossing folder using Pear Pizazz ink pad and placed the wet watercolour paper inside and embossed it. While I left it to dry, I stamped and die cut some of the ferns and grasses from Nature's Prints in Pear Pizazz and Evening Evergreen ink. The dies are from the Natural Prints set that coordinate with the stamp set. Once dry, I mounted it onto a piece of Pear Pizazz card and then laid a strip of Tear 'n tape across the mat. I added the grasses direct to the paper and placed a strip of the lovely white ribbon from last year's Flowers for Every Season ribbon combo across the front. I added a small flower in So Saffron to the top along with a sentiment and decorated on the inside completed this one.
