Make It Monday - Hydrangea Haven

Hello, I hope you had a great week and enjoyed Cary's creations last week. Those little Hot Dogs are so, so cute aren't they? This week I've decided to play with the gorgeous Hydrangea Haven stamp set. I know it's not a cutesy set but I rather love this set. It takes me back to mum's garden when I was growing up. All of the beautiful flowers on the plants. Just beautiful. For a link to the stamp set, please click HERE   It will open up a new page for you so that you don't loose your place here.

Today's card is a very simple card. Just a few stamped images onto the white card mat and a lovely message to complete it. I always believe that less is more so today it's exactly that. #simplestamping all of the way! I used a White card base. a Pool Party card mat and the white mat that I stamped on to complete the card. The ink is Bermuda Bay. I love the way that the colours are lighter in different places.

No Technique Tuesday - Kits

Hello again, thank you for joining me. I have some more of the cards that I made at the weekend to show you today. In addition to the kit, everyone received 10 sheets of A4 card. 2 White, and 2 of each of 4 other colours. They were; Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral, Petal Pink and Pool Party. The kit is called Sweet Little Valentine Cards and More. With the cost at less than £10 it really is a bargain. Our aim was to make non Valentine cards. Using the cards and mats provided, we made our standard sized card which is C6. Basically that is half a sheet of A4 folded in half. The kit comes with cards and envelopes, which can be used in so many ways. Some were made into standard cards with a smaller card on the front and others were cut and separated to make them go much further. The whole kit is so very versatile. The white envelopes and the insides are either gold spots or gold stripes. You can just see them to the left of the top set of cards here.

Here is a picture of the kit itself.

I used a selection of different stamp sets including the coordinating set called Valentine Keepsakes. In addition, I have used several of the Free Saleabration stamp sets and one or two others.

I've never yet found one of the Stampin' Up! kits that need a lot of thinking about. There is always so much in the main kits that you can make far more cards than the kit itself holds!

Make It Monday - Have a Hoot

Hello now once again I have to follow the amazing creations Cary made last week! Weren't they brilliant? I think she's a superstar crafter. The Advent Calander and gift box on Friday is superb. I can't wait to have a go at making one of those. Using Memory and More cards too! Who knew they could be that versatile? Well today I am going to show a very simple card showing the start of my playing with this great, fun stamp set, Have A Hoot. I love all of the images even the Halloween ones but most of all the family of owls are so cute!

As I said it is very simple, only this time I added a white mat onto the gorgeous bright red of Poppy Parade. I just love that colour. 2 identical images stamped in Memento black ink and a message was stamped in the Poppy Parade Ink. Only a little bit of colouring and that was the owls hat. Just a touch of red!

A few extra messages on the inside using the lovely Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set. A very highly under-used stamp set. I will be using it more often too.

Make It Monday

#simplestamping

Hello and welcome back this week. Well, just for a change Cary has once again excelled herself with all of last weeks projects, they are all beautiful. Well done Cary. So it's back to me, I have no idea what's going on with me at the moment as I am so busy with so many things and everything I get involved with seems like it's getting bigger and bigger and doesn't work the way I want it to!  Is it just me or do you sometimes have periods like that too? Crazy isn't it?
Anyway, more important things, today's card is a perfect example of this last few weeks. So far I have made this card 5 times! Why it wouldn't go right I have no idea as it is so very simple, it's crazy! Once I had eventually stamped the images in the right way round!
I have never really liked holly bushes so why I purchased this stamp set, I have no idea but I'm very glad now that I did! The set is called Joyful Holly from Stampin' Up! and it is such a very easy card to make (once I got myself sorted)! I stamped the tip of one of the holly stems onto the white mat several times around the edges and added a little colouring on the berries in red and it's complete. Simple! I stamped it in black ink and with the berries and the messages in red to complete this one.

Well that's my very simple card for today. Please try and make your own simple cards and share them with Cary and I as we would love to see them.

As a result of this stamp set, I am now much happier about holly trees. Very strange am I not?
