BLOG HOP

GLOBAL STAMPING FRIENDS BLOGHOP 2

Thank you for joining us from Marieke Bart's blog http://mintymik.blogspot.co.uk/
2 Big Girls Crafting, that is Cary and Gill have joined into a blog hop.

We have both made projects, so please have a look for 2 different projects.
The colour theme of the blog is using the Stampin' Up! colours below.

No automatic alt text available.

Cajun Craze, Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, Early Espresso and Real Red.
With the addition of Whisper White, Very Vanilla or Basic Black.

Below is the card that Gill made as a Retirement card.

Using Very Vanilla as the base card and mat, I sponged the background using Cucumber Crush
and Soft Sky (sky only looks right if it's blue)!
The birds were die cut using Birds and Blooms Thinlits dies.
Cut from Early Espresso and all the little pieces taken out and a Very Vanilla bird
laid over the top and the little pieces popped through into the Early Espresso birds.
A little fiddly but fairly easy.

The die cut leaves were coloured using daubers, Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon,
Crushed Curry and Real Red.
The trees were made by cutting up the Woodland
Textured Impressions Embossing Folder in Early Espresso.

Additional materials used: Botanical Builder Framelets, Swirly Scribbles Thinlits, Birds and Blooms Thinlits, Leaflets Framelets, Woodland TIEF.
Banners For You and Wild about Flowers stamp sets.
Basic Black and Soft Sky Ink pads.
Here's Cary's card. The card was made using a resist technique called emerging colours.
The image is first stamped in versamark then clear embossing powder is applied and heated. You then apply ink usually with a sponge or sponge dauber then gently buff with a dry soft cloth to remove the ink from the embossed areas and the stamped image emerges.

Thank you for looking in today.
