Tips tricks and techniques Tuesday Everyday Details

After yesterday's simplicity today's inspiration is a little more full on! The colours are bild and bright and the images are full of possibilities.  Once again the stamp set being used is the Everyday Details set.

The image being highlighted today is the cute teacup and flower arrangement. The technique used to create the card is often called masking. Masking is where you stamp the image onto a piece of masking paper then either die cut or fussy cut the image out. Top tip cut on the external line rather than around it it allows the next part of the process to happen with cleaner lines.

Now stamp the first of your images. Remember this image will appear to be at the front of the finished piece. Now take your mask and cover the stamped image. If you use masking paper Remember it has a backing cover so remove that and your piece will stick nicely down. It is removable but another top tip is if it grabs a little too much to the paper gently warm it with a heat gun to loosen the adhesive and it'll peel off no trouble.

Stamp the second image over top of any part of the masked area. Remove the mask reposition and repeat. Next colour your images as desired.

As you can see above I made a mistake 🙃 but it wasn't the end of the world it just gave me a place to add my sentiment!

I fussy cut the entire panel leaving a small white boarder around. Next I created the card base. It is a piece of cardstock measuring 10.5cm x 29.7cm scored at 14.85cm.  Then mark the bottom edge on both side in at 2.5cm then repeat along the scoreline. Now cut the 2.5cm panels from each side of the card front. Adhere a piece of pattern paper to the inside of the card base. Then decorate the slim front panel using the tower of teacups.

Create dimension by using 3d foam as well as adding ribbon and gems.

The card folds flat for postage as well as standing well on the mantlepiece. The reverse of the card is where you would write your personal message.
