Tips tricks and techniques Tuesday Simply Sparkling

On this wet Tuesday here in my small corner of the world I just needed some brightening up and today's project does just that! Bright zesty colours and the coordinating Dies to the fun Simply sparkling stamps make for just such a card!

The dies not only cut out the images from the Simply Sparkling stamps but also have stand alone dies as well which is always extra fun!

The brights colour family from Stampin' Up!  Are just what they say in the title bright 🌞 so prefect for a sunny card. I chose to use bright yellow, bold green a basic white to creat this crisp zingy colour palette.

To create a texture for the background panel I used the citrus slice dies in the same shade as the panel and adhered them randomly all over. I call this a faux embossed technique. You can use any dies the same way just die cut from the same colour cardstock.

The second technique used on today's card is an oldy but goodie.  Called paper piecing it's where you stamp an image onto pattern paper then fussy cut it out . Stamp the original image where you want it then adhere the fussy cut piece back over the image. Top tip use a marker the same colour as that which you stamped the image in and run it around the edges of the fussy cut piece. This stops any unwanted white bits showing. Also always work from the back of your piece so if the pen slips it doesn't mar the front 😉

So there it is a bright and refreshing card to bring a little taste of summer sunshine to you 🌞
